    I (ATW) am not a member of NFSH, TSSAA didn`t deny my request, a member school wanted to come in and do the broadcast. NFSH affiliated schools have paid a fee to broadcast their events on the NFSH network. This fee also allows them to do football playoff games at no additional charge. I understand this,

     

    I do this in my business with big horse shows, I buy the rights to be the vendor for that event, this protects me from outside competition. And this is what NFSH is doing for their member schools, they are protecting their "Brand", no different than me at the horse show.

     

     

    Hopefully over the spring I can work something out with NFSH, or have a member school hire me to do their events.

     

     

    And Joe Grandy, thanks for the compliment, I try really hard, just ask any of my clients.

    I was told last evening that Dean Johnson the owner of atwsportscast.com has contacted the TSSAA the previous two years about video streaming both the D2 state duals and the D2 individual and was told that Cleveland had purchased the exclusive rights to the broadcast and ALL matches would be video streamed. We all now know that this is not happening. Why not allow Cleveland the opportunity to do the D1 tournaments and ATW the opportunity to video stream the D2 tournament?

    TSSAA did contact the NFHS network for me and they were told (TSSAA) since CHSlive.com was doing the event and are a memder of the NFHS network they had the rights to do the event.

     

    TSSAA checked and got back to me, it was declined by NFHS.

  19. news coverage for wrestling events

    This is pretty typical for news coverage of local events by local media outlets. Football and basketball will always be king (they are easy to do and they`re easy to sell advertising for), but media doesn`t realize the numbers tournaments like "Clash of the Creek" generates.

     

    First I would send him the Championship results (and even write his article for him, would bet a dollar to a donut one of the main reasons there is no article the director doesn`t know anything about wrestling) and ask if he can get them up. Now you have done his work for him and it should be easy. There is no excuse and better late than never. If he doesn`t respond you have a really good parent base there and turn it over to them. The wrath of a bunch of moms should get his attention.

     

    And last be sure to make him aware which school in Clarksville is hosting the Regionals this year and invite him. If he had been there for the last match of the day he would see why there should be news coverage of these events.

     

    I think if you send him a write up of the event he will print it, if not you always have your ace in the hole, the Moms!
