To be honest I really can't believe anybody is giving Chad Marcum a chance. He has been fired at two schools in less than a year. From all accounts and reports, he doesn't have a very good reputation as a teacher. Granted he has won some games at the junior high level. But considering he was coaching at Huntsville (largest county school in Scott) and Wartburg (largest county school in Morgan), he should have won some games. He was told 3 years ago when he applied for the Wartburg high job to get certified at the high school level, and it appears they are telling him the same thing at Scott, so maybe he will eventually learn to do the things he needs to get done. I think he would make a good high school coach, but do you allow the students to suffer in the class room if he is hired? He always seems to try and get a good sitaution, and then get out of town when it looks like the talent might not be there. I guess time will only tell. As for Eddie Kreis, his best days are behind him. Rusty Yaden needs more time to learn the game and mature as a coach. Newport would make the best candidate, but he might be content with helping build Oneida from the middle school program. That is just my two cents worth.
