I agree with your post. The top three teams in the 14u division will be the Austin Eagles, Nighthawks and the Edge.
I have heard that the Eagles are looking for a pitcher to join their team. They have three but need another due to an injury of one of those three. I think it is the Thomas girl that is out for the season. I heard she tore her ACL and will be out for at least 6 months. They will still be tough, having two top pitchers in the area, not to mention the strong bats and tough defense the Eagles have. The other two pitchers, one is at GPS and the other is at Soddy, both starters. Eagles finished 5th in the ASA Nationals last year and they will have the same team this year with all players returning (according to their website.) I remember that one of the pitchers was hurt last year and was able to pitch just a few games toward the end of the season but they still did very well in 2003. In order to go the distance, they need 3 good pitchers.
The Edge has a lot of new talent as does the Nighthawks. The Eagles have the advantage of most of the team being together for several years and the same team returning for the 3rd year, give or take a couple of players. They seem to have the "IT" factor that makes a team work, even when a player is down.
