  1. Does it bother anyone that the venues at state are at 3 different locations? At least in Memphis they were at one place, although it felt more like a club tournament than a state tournament. I know there is not a whole lot we can do, since 8 teams go, but.....

  2. What was the shot average for both teams? It is wierd that AC beat CAK pretty badly, then only won 3-1 in sectionals, and CAK beat their team 5-0 in sectionals. Did CD play really good in sectionals? Just curious. Congrats to CD for making it to sectionals and to AC for a great season!

  3. I assume you are talking about the 1.8 multiplier. Like Silverpie said, none of the A/AA soccer teams will be affected, since they are already in a A/AA division, so they will move up from A to AA. No change. Soccer will stay the same until the TSSAA makes private go into their own division. While public schools will have a hard time in soccer, private schools will be greatly affected in other sports like basketball, softball, and football. There is no way to make everyone happy.

  4. Anyone has a shot. Last year CAK lost in sectionals to region 1. (Although the team that beat them last year, lost pretty bad to them this year regular season) Possible... yes. Probable... probably not.

  5. Tough call... LC lost to CAK in pre season, but then beat CAK in regular season. Since I haven't seen LC play, I can only go by their schedule results. It looks like both teams are VERY close. It will come down not to skills, but to who wants it more. CAK, you'd better be ready! Don't come out flat! Good luck!

  6. From what I understand, the benefits of being in Division 2 for Catholic were not worth them being there. From a soccer standpoint, they move from playing Webb, Natre Dame, Mcallie, and Baylor in their district to Austin East, TSD, Alcoa, Fulton... great in some sports, but still getting better in soccer. That is a no brainer there. Granted CAK will now be competing with them, but they always play every season anyway. Now it will have district ramifications. I think it is a great thing for them even with the multiplier.

  7. Congrats to Hixon. They deserve to win regardless if they are public or private. I do wonder if it is considered "recruiting" for public school students who are not zoned for the schools that they play in, happen to be very successful in the sports that they play. Everyone knows that it happens... I think that no matter public or private, all schools should play with integrity regardless of rules or zones. This will always be an issue, even if they do split into public and private leagues. Unfortunate.

  8. LCsoccer... you are one of the best players to come out of our state, not only in skill, but also in class. One person's ignorant post caused a legitimate frustration. I hold nothing against LC, and I hope that our competitiveness can continue on a good note. Both teams played their hearts out, and left everything on the field. Tell your defense that we think they played a heck of a game, especially your sweeper. I hope he is going to play ball in college. Good luck at King, and tell your team that we wish them luck. Also, give your dad a hello... I enjoyed getting to know him. Keep your passion for the game, and remember to have fun playing!

  9. One comment for "sweeping it up." I am the head coach of CAK, and your comments are totally uncalled for. You created a lot of bad feelings from LC at the finals with your comments about "support america go CAK". Both teams have worked very hard on playing with class, and your ignorant post has done a lot of damage. I have no idea who you are, but I will apologize to LC and their coaches for you. There is no need for that, and I know that the coaching staff and players at CAK do not want that type of support. Great job by LC, and we will greatly miss Coach Martin. I hope that LC knows that none of this came from the team. Some people just don't get it. See you guys next season.

  10. I just wanted to wish good luck to all teams going to state. Especially our region teams (yes, I am biased, but who wouldn't be). I would specifically like to wish LCsoccer, and LC09 good luck. This is by far the classiest team that LC has put out for a long time. Other people might dissagree, and I am sure there will be some negative posts, but you have only shown us class and respect when we have played you. Farragut, Oak Ridge, Catholic and Webb... we'll see you guys down there! Good luck!
