I hope that LC does not drop out of the top 11, but I don't know if with the kind of record that they have now, that soccerinfo will see it that way. I have seen them play, and they are one of the top teams. The record does not do them justice. Sorry guys.

People put WAY too much into the rankings. For those CAK fans, they were not even ranked in the top 12 until the 2nd week of MAY! They went and won the whole thing, so all of you unranked teams, don't lose heart. Good luck.

LC is not over-rated, they came out flat and Sweetwater played with heart and took advantage of it. To say that LC is overrated cheapens Sweetwaters victory. Congrats to Sweetwater, and LC made a huge difference in their playing style that evening against CCS.

It's too bad that there was any contoversy in that game at all, but remember guys, it's gonna happen. I found the first half very entertaining, and I agree that CCS came out flat, and LC was ready to play. It was a much different LC team than from the morning. CCS, you are too classy to complain this much about a call. I saw bad calls both ways, and good. You'll hopefully see each other again in a month or so. Both teams should try and shrug it off and prepare for the playoffs. I would hate for 2 good teams to lose a chance at state because they were focusing on a non essential tournament game, and lose focus on the district or region.

A true champion can win without acting like he is better than the rest. I have high admiration for the season that Catholic and Baylor are having, and while they are not my favorite schools, one cannot dispute the results. I hope for the best on both teams, and to respond to all of the posts that are somewhat tasteless... remember, talk is cheap. I advise to be quiet and let your skills talk for you.

I agree with most of the posts. If LC shows up with the same game as they gave CCS, or even the last 20 minutes of the CAK game, Oneida shouldn't give them much of a problem. LC has some real talent and speed, they can get out of it mentally just like everyone else. If I recall, CAK also went down 1-0 in the first half against Sweetwater on mental errors, but then managed to get their acts together for a 6-1 win. Mitch, just remember to enjoy the game, and don't put so much pressure on yourself! It will come together for you! Good luck.

There was nothing weak about CCS's defense when they played CAK. They always had numbers up, and completely shut down almost all scoring chances. The best shot came from CAK's stopper, who hit one from about 25 that beat the keeper, but hit off the crossbar. Good luck CCS.

I look forward to seeing a re-match at state. Great game by CCS, totally knocked CAK off their feet in the first 10 minutes, then when CAK rallied in the second half, played a very intelligent defensive match to keep them scoreless. Well done CCS and good luck with the rest of your season!

3 years ago, this would have been a grudge match, and more physical than skillfull by both teams. I have enjoyed watching LC and CAK become two very talented squads that rely on their skill more than fouls to win the games. CAK cheered on LC at state last year when they were playing Ridgeway, and LC cheered on CAK when they were playing CCS. Both teams are great. I think it will boil down to who makes the most mistakes, and who can capitalize on those mistakes. Three of the top teams in the state at one place. A preview of the state playoffs this weekend! LCsoccer... sorry to see those losses. I know they are tough to take, but don't lose heart, you guys have a great team. All that matters is getting through districts and regions, you guys will coast through sectionals like you did last year. What was the breakdown? Did you guys have some off games, or were the other teams pretty tough?

Coming from the Knoxville area, I also agree that while Farragut is good, they are not the dominate force they have been in the past. Also, across the divisions, scores are all over the place. I really look forward to seeing how CCS is this year... they were great last year. I wouldn't say that teams are mediocre, there is a lot of talent... just no "super" teams.

If Jason "Twinkle Toes" Bowman has a game like he did against Webb, it should be no contest. I will say though, that Seymore tied CAK last year, so CAK better not be flat.

Whether you like Catholic or not, you can't deny that they have a good team, and are having a good season. I wish them the best of luck, and hope that they go far. As far as the polio crack... very low class. I apologize that anyone would say that.

Oneida has a much better record (7-1-1 as compared to 5-4-1), and Oneida only lost to Webb 2-1. Going by record and stats I think that Onieda will win, but Kingston has some goal scorers so who knows. My prediction.... Oneida 3 Kingston 1.

I think that CAK and Lenoir City will go to state again. Catholic should have an even better chance to win state this year than last, and I don't think that Webb has enough depth to make it, although they have an excellent stopper and right midfielder. While Bearden has had a rough season, I think they will still make it to state, but I think that Farragut has the edge over them.
