Well we playe both. we killed south pitt and beat whitwell 20-14. South pitt is not very physical and whitwell is so thats a big advantage. Sout pitt is fast, whitwell is not so thats an advantage for south pitt. Whoever said south pitt had the better coaches i would have to say they break even on that. South ptt is a great job b/c yo are alway gonna have athletes, whitwell was a job no one wanted. Id say break even there. Neither team has beaten anybody better than themselves. whitwell has lost 5 of their last 6 and South pitt just got beat by bledsoe so id say there is plenty of motivation for both. Ill give whitwell the edge in physical play and homefield and south pit the advantage in athleticism, motivation(they would lose to every valley team if the lose firday). Whitwell 20 South Pitt 18

Tough luck for JP in the game the other night against Polk. That will hurt us defensively.

1. CCS they will be coming up to AA with us next year with the multiplier and they are always tough. I say the will have little trouble with this district again even though they arent as strong as normal. 2. LV they always seem to have pretty good athletes which is something not many people in this dist or the valley have. 3. SP They played pretty wel against us last year We were able to use our size to bother Robinson and we had cain to shut down cook. The will still be a notch above the lowere level guys in 6A but wont be in the mix for 1 or 2 spot. 4. Sale Creek Very few athletes and some good shooters. 5. City Fairly good athletes, could be a flip flop with them and Sale Creek. 6. Whitwell Same players new coach doesnt really matter. 7. Richard Hardy uh............... This will be the last year of CCS reighn in this district, then the multiplier takes over. They will move up to AA with us like we need anymore chattanooga teams. TOp 4 spots go to the region so it looks like to me city and sale creek will be fighting for the last spot.

In AA the valley team will have trouble competing against the chattanooga teams i agree. As for south pitt i dont know if they will be better than last year, maybe so if their new coach is better than siler, but Siler always had them play well so who knows. As for whitwell and their new coach and all these supposed transfers and seniors i doubt it will make a difference we have drilled them latley and they never work hard and are usually out of shape. Our heighth will kill them. I didnt know whitwell had anyone that had started all four years. that may be the problem though having the same guys for four years since they havent been evry good in that time. jasper may be the suprise team of the valley witht he indians being the ebst.

With only me and sequatchie posting looks like everyone else in the valley is either watching football or just scared! Cant say i blame them we have dominated some of the teams on the southern end of the valley! All i can say is circle the sequatchie game on your calendars everybody it wont be pretty for you

I think the big guy inside at South Pitt will be pretty good. I heard they lost a couple of seniors that were ok. Did they hire a new coach? Marion i dont even know what they have ebsides the red haired kid, they lost the one guy who was a pretty good shooter, think he was a good baseball guy. I dont know anything about whitwell either, heard they had a new coach too, i know the big football guy that goes to UTC grad. I think we will be the best team in the valley again!

I think our starters are very solid. I hope we make it through football healthy! Any news on the other valley teams? I heard all three schools in Marion got new coaches, any truth to that? I think we have more size than anyone in the valley, its just too bad we are stuck in our district with the chattanooga schools.

What does everyone think about the teams in the valley this year? I know its early and football is on our minds. We should be pretty good with Price and Houth and some of those guys coming back. We lost 3 good seniors last year but i know coach smith will have our team ready! How are the other teams going to be? I think South Pitt should be ok, dont know anything about Marion, whitwell, or bledsoe. Van buren usually plays everyone hard.

The only thing JP is gonna need his beach towel for is when he is on vacation after half time because this one won't even be close. The starters will be at the drive in watching friday night lights by half time while the tigers are getting their lights knocked out. If whitwell scores more than two touchdowns i'll be shocked. This isnt lookout valley you're playing. Whitwell has played two good teams and got killed by both, talk about tackling my mamma....hopefully that would be easier for you than tackling boyd and jaspers 5th string offense!! Wonder if we'll have the honor of a hand shake after the score gets out of hand?

I'll take Seq. Co. pretty big in this one. As for the wear and tear on #5 he better get ready for some more because Lewis and price and the rest of the boys will be coming after him. Hard to believe a high school coach wouldnt shake the other teams coach's hand........if its 53-0 and they score through the air thats pretty bad...but then again just stop it.....gee i dread when they move up to us

What are the thoughts on the games involving the valley teams for week one? Seq and Grundy should be a tough battle i feel. The jackets QB is tough, and dunlap looks to be iproved from the jamboree. Marion and page any thoughts? South Pitt and sweetwater?? Whitwell Vs temple looks to be a game of contrasting styles witht he tiger run game and temples passing game.

Yeah i guess politics is a big part of it....taylor probably got a raw deal at marion.......from the jamboree though looks like there will be some good games in the valley this year......my niece goes to south pitt and she said the players hardly talk to walker now after he failed, he hurt that team pretty bad.......she also said they had a whitwell coach teaching there, anybody know what thtas about? the robinson kid looks like a real prospect

wow sctribe and country really sound fired up over the jamboree. I thought that Grundy played very well, marion and lookout valley looked like their numbers were up also. South Pitt will always fare well against the teams in the valley because of the speed facotr, grider and pratt are both excellent coaches as well. Sequatchie looked pretty good against whitwell in their match up and im sure country30 will throw me alot of facts anf whitwell praise in here but thats ok, just my opinion that sequatchie looked to be improved. As for them making a mistake of hiring someone not from the valley i see both sides........South Pitt has done well with Pratt when he has been there and he is not from the valley.........Whitwell hired a guy from sweetwater or somewhere a while back and it was a disaster, like the basketball coaches they hired from florida....so you never know......if a guy can coach he can coach no matter where he is from
