  1. I think MBA will win this game. I've seen both teams play, but the coaching staff at MBA has their team playing well. They are very organized and hard to get behind...plus they have a very good GK.

Father Ryan on the other hand....they have talent, but they do not play well together. Man....those boys over at Ryan have already peaked. I don't see Father Ryan making it out of this region.

MBA has more heart and I just see Ryan playing physical and dirty!

Good luck to MBA! I predict the score to be 3-1 in favor of MBA!

Having played both teams, I would have to say that MBA is the better team, but the way Ryan plays they could beat anyone.

  2. MBA and Father Ryan have one of the biggest rivalaries in the state. Who do you think is going to come out victorious in this match? Whoever wins I'm sure it will be a good game.

If both teams come to play, this could be the game of the regular season. I'm going.

  3. BGA had a strong advantage over MBA in the second half, just couldnt finish. MBA won the game because they took advantage of their oppurtunities and that is why i think MBA will win this game handily 3-0.

MBA just works harder than their opponents.

  4. Who wins it all in each division?

    Here's my ballot

    A/AA - Knox catholic

    AAA- Brentwood

    DII- CBHS

A/AA seems to be the most wide open one it looks like its between bout 4 teams

AAA is also not locked in i just like brentwoods strength

DII- i dont see anybody beating them

Its always easy to pick the teams with the best records. but it rarely winds up like that. When a team is faced with elimination they will always play harder.

  5. I have noticed a disturbing trend the past few years where private shool MBA has intimidated public schools and beat Centennial 1-0 when they were good and went to state and tied Brentwood 0-0 a couple of years ago when they were far better. I hope this trend changes tonight, but the way MBA handled BGA scares me about that happening.

They didn't exactly handle us. I think even MBA will agree to that. I still think that they are clearly better than Franklin, though.

  6. actually doesnt jp2 have first since they havent lost but if u guys beat them we would be tied nd we would have to beat frhs to secure that spot

Yeah, right now BGA and MBA both have losses and JPII only has a tie. However, BGA plays JPII on wednesday (our second of three games in three days). I guess MBA should be rooting for us on that one, because if we beat JPII and you guys beat Ryan then MBA has a lock on first seed. That is what I was referring to when I said that on my last post.

  7. This is going to be one of those games that will either be a blowout or stay close to the end. CBHS has the skill to beat anyone in the state (and probably the whole southeast), but JPII plays with heart. If CBHS can come out strong and get up quickly then the game wont be much of a challenge. However, if they come out soft and let JPII stay in it, JPII will only get stronger as the game goes along. Brothers will find it harder and harder to stay focused and JPII could pull a major upset. It all dependes on how ready to play CBHS is. The game is in their hands.

  8. i thought tie brakers were settled by head to head, is that not true cause if u think about it the only tie right now could be bga nd mba nd mba won head to head

Yeah, thats true. Right now you guys have the number one seed 'cause you beat us. At first i though it would be a three way tie between us and JPII, but since they have a region tie it is just between us.

  9. ydet, does the bga webb game count as d2 middle region game? I was curious because they don't play everyone in the region

I don't think so. I know the goals of that game don't count if the region goes into a goal differential tiebreaker. Why?

  10. In my opinion they were evenly horrible, but they let the game get WAY out of hand.

I agree, at least one red card should have been given. Also the ref should have called things the whole game instead of waiting until the end to start handing out cards.

  11. R.O.B. is actually a player on Father Ryan's team. He plays center mid/center back and has the long throw-in. His name is Michael Gallagher and I believe he is number 2.

I don't believe it. This isn't the first time someone has claimed to know the identity of R.O.B. and I doubt it will be the last. Unless someone can come up with some real proof, I wont believe any accusations other than R.O.B. is someone with some affiliation to Ryan, who extremely dislikes all the other teams in the region.

  12. Just out of curiosity for those of you that were at the game what did u think of the officiating? I ask because one of the referees for this game reffed the centennial game later that night adn did a horrible job. He has refed the past 3 home games for centennial and done terrible in all 3. I want to know if he is always this bad or just when he comes to centennial.

The refs weren't very good. The game was VERY physical and the refs let it get out of hand. However, for some reason, there were three refs at the game instead of the usual two. This allowed the game to be called evenly (only one head ref). Though many calls were missed, they were missed evenly both ways. The officiating wasn't very good, but it didn't effect the outcome of the game.

  13. I went to this game b/c when these to play it always gets heated and its fun to watch. It was hard fought as always, but I thought that BGA got away with an offsides call on the first goal, there was no body withing about 3 or 4 yards at least from #12 and he seemed to have healed it in. All in all, I thought it was a good game, and I hope they play again.

It was hard to tell from where i was standing, but i doubt, Wade was offsides on that goal. and he really just redirected a shot from outside the 18. Anyway, both teams played very hard. there were numerous calls that could have gone either way, but the final score gave BGA the edge.
