you are a fabulous cheerleader for houston!!!!!
Yeah, and I'm a fabulous cheerleader for Brentwood. Know why? Because its easy to cheer for a team that is really good. Houston is that good. They deserve to be placed in the top five of the state right now. Maybe that will change as the year goes along, but right now, Houston is there, along with Hendersonville, Brentwood, BGA, and CBHS.
-
Ok, one BGA has about five or six college players on it. I know how good he is and he would do some pretty awesome stuff. But you have to look at the whole game. The topic was would they win state. Not if Ronaldinho would make people look stupid, which he would, but how is gonna defend 11 good players. Yeah thats what i thought. And even if tries to dribble everytime, you dont think he will lose the ball? Your crazy.
He wouldn't have to defend 11 good players. Everyone has already said that they would put at least five guys on him. Eleven players-the five guarding him-the keeper= only five players attacking the other teams nine. Not to mention the fact that the teams best five would be the ones guarding Ronaldinho. So you have a teams five worst starters against nine bad players. Sure they would score, but not everytime.
Also, BGA maybe has five college level players on it, and thats if you include a Sophmore and a Junior. But it still doesn't matter, its highschool starters (college maybes) against the best soccer player in the world.
-
How do ya'll think the game will end?
Pretty even. I'm looking forward to this one.
-
The DII scene isn't weak either. JPII and BGA are still unbeaten. The DII middle region tourny is looking pretty good this year.

We played the same amount of games Riverdale did, so get your facts straight. Blackman didn't make it to the semi-finals for nothing last year. Riverdale only had one shot on goal in the first half, that was a PK, and only three other shots in the second half. Wheather you think 4 starters coming back makes a difference or not is your opinion. Blackman may not be the best in the state, but they are prettty good, and at least deserve a mention in the top 5 for AAA, which is what I said before. I don't know the other teams in AA or A, and I am quite sure that are teams there that could beat Blackman, but anyone could beat anyone on any given day.
Sorry about the three games in two days thing. I was getting my info from Eurosport and apparently it is wrong. Anyway, I'll also agree that Blackman is in AAA top five, but that isn't what this topic is for. I know that Blackman is good, I've played them, I just don't think that they're good enough to be in the top five in the state (no Division or Location regarded).
And you still only beat Smyrna 3-2.

I think some people know more about soccer than you pal. Especially a friend of mine who played for PSG in france on the younger team when he played for the first squad. Even he agrees that what people are saying on here are true. He cant defend 10 other guys on the field. Yes he is unbelievable and would do some crazy stuff against the team, but eveyone would focus on him. If he passed the ball, his team would lose it, if he shoots it might go in, it might miss, or it might be saved, and he has 5 or 6 skillful players on him, college level players. He can be stoped by that many.
First of all, what team has five or six college level players playing on it. Second Ronaldiho would make those five or six college level players look like the five year-olds who play on the tiny fields with no keepers. Even if he were guarded by six college players, how many college players go pro? then how many of those get to play on Champions leauge teams? then how many of those actually start?, i'd say 1 in every 1000. And yet Ronaldinho makes five or six of those professional players look like fools every time he tries.
-
I really just chose Div AAA, even though the question posed no matter what div, etc.... I only know of AAA, however, BGA did beat Blackman, but Blackman was missing 4 key starters, two seniors, a very good sophmore and a freshman.
Yes you did lose to BGA, you also lost to Smyrna. I'm not trying to be mean but Smyrna was terrible. And since you've gotten your starters back, who have you beaten, Oakland, Mt. Juliet. Your best win came in beating Riverdale by one goal after they had played three games in only two days.
-
Brentwood, Hendersonville, Blackman, Farragut, Bearden, not in any particular order
BGA shouldn't be on that list. I mean BGA lost to Hendersonville and Blackman, right. Brothers shouldn't be on it either, cause they lost to both Farragut and Bearden, right. I do have my facts straight, dont I.
OH WAIT...
-
Yeah the Overton thing was a joke with an old friend of mine. I would also put Houston in the top five, although both they and Hendersonville are question marks.
-
yes but these other players are the worst in the state, that means that they cannot trap, pass, shoot, in terrible condition, it does not matter if their is only one defender he could handle it if ronald wasn't attacking. So you put the people on him were ever he goes. also, the defenders are terrible and your forwards would look like ronald in the pros. i am just saying that there is always a way to get around one player.
as for direct kicks, uh maybe you could set up a wall in the goal
the other team will not even be able to pass the ball to ol ronald because they are terrible and the other team will just intercept it.
he takes over professional games with the help of professionals, now if he wants a one-two it won't happen or someone to make a run to give him a little more space, sorry not their if anything they will get in the way.
so i still think that a good team, let's say any team going to the state tournament would beat the worst team possible with ronald.
ronald means ronaldinho
If you set up a wall in the goal, the team could just pass it to "Ronald" and he would dribble closer to the goal (and score).
-
This should be interesting.
I'm going to have to go with Brentwood, Hendersonville, BGA, CBHS, and Overton.
You'll can put them in order for me. And please dont start telling me how stupid or ignorant I am without putting up your own opinion. It is impossible to come up with something that everyone will agree upon, but I'm doing the best I can.
-
no, one person cannot beat a team. all you would have to do is just pass, simple. If this fella chases he will get tired, if he doesn't you score. all you have to do is take your time, possess the ball all that you possibly can, and ronaldinho will get the ball very seldom.
On defense put 5 people on him 2 everywhere he goes and then supporters to them (that can go elsewhere if need be). Sorry but one guy with constant pressure from two people and then supporters to them will not get very far, if those players just are on him every second not letting loose, I am sure that he will still score, but you can score more than he can. I have had professional players as trainers/coaches and they would play with us and the team still found a way to negate their fantastic abilities, just by not allowing them in the play of the game. of course if he does make it into the play like off kick-offs then it is probably time for a trip. my opinion.
now if he played on the team from the beginning of the season, then yes i believe he could take thim and win state because he would teach the players how to use him, and how to make runs, so that if you forget about the rest of the team, then they might slip one in, and also how to defend when he can't make it back there.
That sound like a reasonable idea, and it would be if we were talking about the best high school players, but Ronaldinho takes over professional games. He has personally beaten many teams that would have killed his team without him.
Think about the dynamics of the game. Any free kick in his attacking third would be an automatic goal, no questions asked. If he were ever allowed to get the ball with a foot of space he would break the ankles of any high school player around him. And for the foul thing, professional teams have been trying the same thing for a couple years now, they cant touch him.
How many of your teams players would you put on him. even if you put your five best players on him, you would be playing against the other teams ten with your six worst starters. If you had defenders on him, he would go into the defensice area and get the ball. If you had midfeilders on him then your team would have no transition play and would never be able to score. If you ever took any of your players off of him or if they left him to try to win a ball, it would be fine if they one it or if they scored it would be great, but if they didnt you would leave ronaldiho open and that would be a goal.
Im not saying that team is garunteed to win state, but at the end of the year, they would be there.
-
brentwood has 5 goals against, all from set plays (free kicks, pk's), and only from 2 teams
BGA has given up only two goals in six games.
-
Just bumping this back up to the top. Everyone should look at it. Gives you a chance to put in your two cents.

I doubt that both Houston and Knox Catholic have the kind of teams that will keep them in the top five of the state. Maybe move Hendersonville and McCallie up there.

thye can't play a "wide" game becasue the game is on the football field
A skinny field isn't a reason not to play a wide game. In fact it makes the wide game all the more important. With such a skinny field, Centennial should focus on using their flanks in order to spread out the field. Since one of their streangths is their speed up top, the more they can spread the feild the better it will be for them.

If everyone agreed that a team was underrated, then wouldn't that team be no longer underrated?

I'm kind of annoyed at the DII rankings, but I'll wait till we prove it on the field instead talking myself up now. Anyway, I was wondering how you got Baylor at the top? It would seem that an unbiased view would place CBHS there.

bent out of shape? I just get bent out of shape against liars. u beat us 5-1 the first time which was a back to back game which we played U second and it was our first travel ball game! then the 2nd time we played u was the state tournament where the score was 5-4. so dont be lying and hating . u are pitiful .--get 0ver the state- U are trying to start something
Whether the team was better or not, I'd have to say that 10 goals in 2 games isnt exactly the work of a "BEHEMOUTH". The topic is about the "best keeper in the state", not how a team did when it played another team.
MBA beats Grissom

He's not taking a thing away from MBA. He's just pointing out that it was a pretty even game, as the score suggests.
