Who decides all district and all state teams? Also how do you find out who made them?

If Maryville plays like they did against West, I say 5-0 Farragut. It was either a truly weak performance or West was much better than they thought. West, playing with only 10 gave them all they could handle and still out shot them.

funny I seem to remember West tied the much vaunted CAK even with the very humble asian invasion at the helm. Hmmmm. Also West only lost to Farragut by 1 goal...double hmmm. So they may not be quite as bad as some might think. So if you want to know what happened in the game it is this. Bearden outplayed West the first half and nothing seemed to fall for them. In the second half West took control of the midfield and West repeatedly was able to get behind the Defense getting many open looks. One of these finally went in. First half Bearden second half West. Great keeper play for both sides. It was that simple. To be fair, bearden did have a couple of guys out sick. Only they could tell you how much that affected their performance. I doubt seriously that (with as much parity there has been in this division) that Bearden took West to lightly. They have to much experience on that team for that. Chances are these two teams will play again and hopefully will have just as competitive a match as last nights.

They can't change the high school season to the fall. Then there is no way a Farragut or Bearden could consider themselves "National Champs" when competing with the fall states. Not to knock those teams but those are big soccer states with a huge pool of players.

I hear West High has had a large influx of quality freshman this year all from 1 competitive team. Even though this makes for a very young team they do have a couple of the best competitive players as juniors. These guys may surprise some people.

I for one am happy to see more parity amongst schools this year. I believe it can be credited to the spreading popularity of competitive teams which is developing better players even in the outlying areas. This said, competitive soccer is very expensive and Farragut has more than its share of those players. That is after all where the money is! I personally think it is amazing that teams with a handful of select players can compete effectively with Bearden and Farragut who are exclusively select players. I think there will be some great games from a lot of teams and look forward to seeing many of them.

Knoxville West high 1 Knoxville Catholic 1 Knoxville West high 3 CAK 3 Hmmm can we maybe think we have overlooked someone? It looks like there may be another competitive team in east Tennessee

Funny how nobody looks at West High in all of this list. I know they have been down the last few years with coaching changes and other issues but to ignore them completely is just plain wrong. Players that should have been included in your list. Michael Jenkins draws double and triple coverage practically every game. Also Robert Eldridge, 6 ft 5 inches and tougher than any player I have seen. Other Players to watch at West would be Devin McCroskey, Jeff Keenan and Brad Prosise. All of these guys are sophmores. I think things look bright for the future at West.

Anybody know what the district tiebreakers are? There is a 3 way tie between bearden, west and maryville in the district. Head to head doesnt work because maryville beat bearden, west beat maryville, bearden beat west. Just wondering what the next tiebreakers are to see how the seeding will go for the tournament
