  1. A little late but...I hope EHS wins the State they have been winners ever since Coachh17 had them in Middle School so it just proves that if you have a good Middle School Coach your High School program will have a better chance of winning BIG!!

As for for Rikki being the MVP of the Sub-State, I agree she is a great player but without Victoria Hopson Saturday night EHS loses. She got key rebounds, led numerous fast breaks, made the correct pass everytime, played great defense and scored 7 points. The boxscore says she is not the MVP but in my opinion she was .

Last time I looked, there are no substate MVP's. Cyclones win because of a team effort, not just one player. Middle school players and records mean nothing if the players don't develop after middle school. Players most of the time make the program. Its good when you have a coach who knows what he is doing. But the good teams have players whose parents, AAU coaches, and other people who know basketball help develop the players, not just the coach. Coach17 is a good coach, but its easy to coach good players. <_<

  2. Pigeon Forge is a veteran team with a grudge to settle from last years regional.  The two teams match up well with Ramsey and Dodgen for PF on the inside vs Baughman and Pietrowski for the cyclones; and newman and garrison at guard for the Tigers and Crapps and Redd for the clones;  that leaves Rayfield vs Hopson at the "swing" spot;  No real advantage except for Baughman, and I think she carries the mail in this one............GOOOOOOOOOOO Lady Cyclones. thumb

I agree. We seem to be hitting on all cylinders at the right time. Everybody is contributing in each of their own way. Very good win last night. Hard to beat a team 3 times, especially Unicoi(and 2 times in their own back yard), in one year. Third straight year in Region Finals. Would be nice to repeat as champs. Remember, we are the defending Champions of Region 1.

  3. I do not mean to be critical but I had heard alot about Baughman and Redd.  I was interested in seeing them play when they came to the Greene County tournament and I was extremely disappointed.

Good point Devilfan11, but when healthy, Baughman is a totally different player. She's one of the best. Does a little of everything. Check her prospect page. She had a badly sprained ankle for the whole tournament. She hurt it in practice a couple of days before the tourney. As for Redd, your guess is as good as mine. :o
