  1. JPII has had a lot of success in athletics lately. They are becoming a really good private school in the Nashville Area. Coach Sneed coaches their boys team and he was an assistant at Father Ryan during their really good seasons. He will bring a really disciplined team to the table, much like Ryan. He does a good job up there. As far as the season goes, I think the team is pretty young, but will probablly be in a lot of ballgames.

  3. I feel like that all of this discussion is really just differences in coach preference. All coaches are going to discipline in different ways and do what they think relates to their players in the best way. I don't know that there is a right or wrong answer. I have my opinion on it, but that doesn't determine who sits or plays for these teams. It's just in each one of the coaches' philosophy. But two points is two points either way and there is really no need to be on the rims during warmups. Do that in the games and get your picture in the Journal.
  4. I have been able to see most of the teams in this district play this season and I cannot wait to see how this tournament will end up. Many people that I talked to that have followed basketball in this area for years are saying that it is the most competitive that they have seen in a long time. Any team in this district, if they get hot down the stretch, has a chance to win the tournament. Most every game has been a dogfight and I was just wanting to get some opinions on how you think it will end up.
  5. I admire coaches so much when they teach their kids lessons about accepting responsibility and having no excuses for their actions. A real dunk or not, it costs his team before the game even starts. There is no excuse for it. Most high school players will not go on to play college basketball, and the life lessons that they can learn on and off the basketball court from their coaches will be much more beneficial in the long run. I think it was a good move by the Oakland Coach.
  6. I'm not really sure what school these guys went to because I just remember them playing when I was very young, but they are still around the Pulaski area. I see them driving pretty regularly and they come back and play in the school's alumni basketball game. As of the last time I saw them, Freddie can still soar.
