  1. Yes, I think the double-elimination is the way to go...because "the one star pitcher" would not be the determining factor to get to state...to be knocked out in second game because your pitching is used up.
  2. It sounds like if a team has two talented pitchers, a good defense behind them, strong bats, and a creative coach with the guts to gamble...the team could take it all the way to State Tournements. However, most parents would grumble if they had a son with the potential of playing at the next level and a coach took chances of injuring his arm for the wins. Ive seen catchers hurt just as much as pitchers without having any relief and coaches crawling them for not gunning the runner down after a 3 or 4 game week. Maybe catchers need some protection with rules also.
  3. It sounds like there is alot of confusion about this. If I were a coach, I believe I would start my best pitcher every game for about 3 innings and get a good lead and save him - There's got to be some regulation on this.
  4. Do you mean after one day's rest, the pitcher can pitch 10 more innings if his arm is able or 10 total innings a week? Still confused
  5. What is the rule on how many innings a pitcher can pitch in a week? I know at this level, arms have to be protected but what is the rule? Maybe a coach or an official can answer this and is there a pitching log signed to keep teams honest?
  6. Just wondering how many innings can a pitcher pitch in a week. Is there a rule or something. I know their arms have to be protected at this level but i was just wondering if somebody has the correct rule on this. Maybe one of the coaches or an umpire/official can answer this. Im a mom and have always wondered this.
  7. Thanks for the info on Montg. Central, PageMan. Now does anyone know who made all district for 10A and 10AA? We have connections with both districts. Congrats Montg. Central----Keep it going and take home that TITLE!
  8. See what we moms know? Not much when it comes to this stuff. I'm a Houston Co. mom but went to high school down the road at Montgomery Central. I just assumed we were in the same district since we are so close to them. I didnt consider the size difference! Anyway, Im still proud of Mont. Central and I hope they keep winning. I have friends with children on their team. I assume Disney and Baggett are on All-District and Region. Do you have anymore info on the rest of Mont. Central's team. Thanks.
  9. Does anyone know which players made all district for 10AA? or where to go to see the team list? Montgomery Central is making us all proud- Still in it!
