Pt12 also stated very clearly that "on paper" looked like CR was the winner BUT as pt12 also stated games are not played on paper. Forrest came out on top this time HOWEVER..... as many of the CR faithful also stated, CR will learn from this and move on....personally, I believe, the next team CR plays will get smoked....they will be out to prove themselves and they are every bit as talented as pt12 says. If a team like them loses a game like they did, I say WATCH OUT cause they will be practicing harder, playing harder and on a mission. So my point is don't snicker and poke to much at them, oh no, cause it WILL bite you in a tender place! Good luck to CR on the rest of their season and I hope we meet again this year!!!! Again, all I can say is WOW!!!!! Except this time it is for the Lady Rockets and the way they played tonight!!!! Beth Hawn got her 1000th point AND scored 30 against the Lady Buffaloes!! Congratulations to Beth on an awesome accomplishment....and I saw the coach from UT Martin there, I am sure he is pleased with his signee!!!! As for the Lady Rockets, they were like swarming bees moving at the speed of light.....CR may be bigger but Forrest is wayyyyyyy faster. Dickens and Heady fouled out late in the 4th......fouls were even first half and CR had 9 in the second to Forrests' 6 so really did not affect the outcome as by then we were pretty far ahead. Anyway, nice way to begin the season with a quality win against a quality opponent. Congrats Lady Rockets!!!!!!!!!!

Well lemme see here....Bird (my personal favorite), Jabbar,Jordan and James.......I kinda guessed you were full of "it" lol, however with the reputation CR is getting for players....and the fact that everyone is talking about the freshman class.........I still thought WOW was the correct answer!!!!

Yes I knew Laken woud be back for JC and Heady for CR but I was not very clear about it, sounded like I was lumping the 2 teams together. Kelli Reed is the returining CR player along with Heady. Thank you for listing them. Like I said before.....old and feeble minded. So the freshman class at CR is made up of players that transferred from York.....how many made the move? Will any of them be impact players right away?

Ok guess I should read stats before I open my big mouth.....I was thinking it was only 1 starter not 3. I knew Heady and Laken Leonard would be back, guess that clouded my thinking lol. For some reason I thought Dickens was a starter too. So who are the starters now for CR????? I guess if some believe they will beat us by 30 ( which I don't ) CR certainly did reload. My beloved Lady Rockets will certainly have their hands full (as always) with the Lady Buffaloes on Tuesday. As pt12 stated, we lost 4 starters and CR is returning all but 1 starter from the state champ team of last year, I believe. We will certainly be the big underdog and Beth I am sure will be the focal point for CR. It will be interesting to see how the others step up with opponents of this caliber. As everyone knows.....to be the best you have to play the best. Even though Forrest has struggled with CR everytime we have played them early on......we are there with them at the "Boro" in March. Sooooooo.....play your hearts out Ladies and show em what the Lady Rockets are made of!!!!! Go Lady Rockets!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the Forrest / Morristown East game.....looked like a mid season matchup!!!! Forrest lead most of the game but Morristown (AAA) kept it close and ended up winning by a few! Both teams subbed a lot of players! Great game though and I can't wait for the season to begin!! Go Lady Rockets!!! Wayne County looked pretty good against Friendship Christian.......that's all I saw Go Lady Rockets!!!!!!!

Everytime I go through Monterey/ Clarkrange to ride horses at Big South Fork, I really wish I was going through there to watch 7a Basketball lol !!!!! Have a great year up there!!

As previously mentioned, Beth Hawn from Forrest has committed to UT Martin. She is 6'1 and although I am not sure of her stats from last year, I do know this....she is a not only a terrific leader for the Lady Rockets young team, she is poised to have a great Senior season!! I do believe she is one of the top post players around. Best of luck to Beth and the entire Lady Rockets team! GO Lady Rockets!!!!!!

Well said Buffalo Fan....As I said wayyyy back on pg 4 of this thread, the ladies can play where they choose and if the parents are willing to relocate then fine, it's legal so have at it. I am sure any school would LOVE to have a player the caliber of Laken, Molly or Carly transfer in ( except for the player who had been a part of the team for a long time and loses playing time because they are not as talented.....) that's life I guess!! No team or coach is going to refuse to let a transfer play and I am sure Forrest is no different. We had a transfer couple years back, she was good but did not play as much as she or her parents thought she should, so she transferred again and is now starting for a very good team.....I was mostly responding to the comment about how good CR was and would have won it all with or without Miss Heady....we will never know, but I do know this....when a player of this caliber transfers it darn sure affects the outcome of your season! Anyway I did not think Lamar was disrespecting Forrest, I was just wondering why he did not play his Varsity in what was supposed to be a Varsity game. We won JV against JV..... because as soon as our Coach realized he put in our JV. I was surprised that CR Varsity lost to Lincoln Cty and was wondering if that was why..... as some form of wake up call for your Varsity! This is definately ONLY camp....as CR will be in top form when the season begins. Take Care and Good Luck to y'all this season!

Options...I have not made anything up and have only responded with an opinion to this thread and to the opinion that CR would have won everything anyway....I don't agree...I am not rude, I don't belittle the young ladies for transferring....but I have an opinion about transfers, which I have a right to.....lots of schools get transfers in every sport, for lots of individual reasons.....I don't pretend to know what those reasons are and as I stated before, it's legal so have at it....HOWEVER when transfers occur..for whatever reason.... and that transfer is, for lack of a better term a "franchise player" and as I understand it, Miss Dickens is going to be awesome also, it makes news and it gets talked about and the what ifs and the what fors are going to be debated...and frankly I cannot say whether CR would have won every game and the Gold Ball with or without the transfer but in all fairness neither can you, they were an awesome team, she is an awesome player. We played CR at MTSU last week, and I was eagerly anticipating the game, but for whatever reason Lamar played his JV against us in what was supposed to be a Varsity game...so our coach pulled his varsity and played his JV also. Surprisingly ( I thought ), CR had lost to Lincoln Cty earlier so I wondered if that was why??? Just thought it was odd, obviously he can do as he wishes with his team, and I am certainly not questioning his motives.

I know I should know this......what are the rules for a player having to sit out a year when they move??

Jimbo, I am over it, well trying to get over it /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" .....Gets my dander up when people get on here and say how great their team WOULD have been without these transfers.....COME ON Jimbo, they are both continually high scorers, great rebounders, etc etc, no team would be losers with these players. Not saying their teams would not be awesome anyway, but with the addition of players like this, it's hardly an even playing field and IF the shoe were on the other foot, they would feel the same way!!!! ( as evidenced by the hoopla at CR when JC got their star!!! )

Would not have been a big margin of victory without Heady sorry...as it would not have been as good a JC team without Leonard and now with the transfer of one of the BEST players at York into CR only means they will be even more powerful...they have a right to play where they choose....however when players of this caliber transfer, your team is going to win games they WOULD NOT have won with out them and y'all need to admit this cause it's true and you know it. It really doesn't surprise me that another great talent is moving to CR....I don't care if it's been 1 in the last 50 years......it's the caliber of player that causes the commotion and it's legal so have at it....but both of these teams would not have been as good in the last couple of years without these transfers......the rest of us A teams will play the best we can against them and wish we had the same setup. Forrest returns all season MVP Beth Hawn and players Taylor Allen and Christina Curtner (who both saw tons of playing time ) along with a very talented group waiting in the wings for their chance to shine.....can't wait to see them on the floor!!!!! 9A will be VERY competitive as stated and it will only help these teams in the long run!!!

Well, this Forrest fan is going to the game tomorrow and as we all know I don't have a horse in this race........but am expecting a whale of a game for 2 reasons...# 1 Clarkrange is undefeated and as we all know the complete package, #2 I am interested in watching Christopher play against them, have heard she steps it up in the big games and they don't get much bigger...Forrest has never played OS even though we have both been there the last four years I believe.
