I'd go with the hot hand. If the Rankin kid is special (and I keep hearing everyone say he is), why not start him for the next 3 years? Portland will already have 4 quarters under their belt versus a very good team in Westmoreland going in to week 1 versus the Devils. If the Devils go into the Portland game with the mindset they did last year, the Panthers will take it to them just like they did in that game. Put the best players on the field like any other team would, and WIN BABY!

Despite making many mistakes and playing rather sloppy in the first half, the Devils win over the Panthers yet again. Way to go BDP. I listened to the replay this morning on the Portland radio station, and they accused WH of playing overly aggressive and also blamed the officials (who I admit, managed the game fairly poorly as far as time and indecisiveness after penalties). When all else fails, blame everyone but yourself I guess. That being said, I hate to see Portland struggling, but am always happy to get a victory over our rivals.

Also like to point out that White House's crowd was HUGE, but Portland had empty spots on that small visitors side. It wasn't like that years ago when their side was standing room only.

being from Dekalb County we want to say nothing but good things about the blue devils and their fans. The moment of silence and the prayer were great . To everyone ,We lost to the better team but we fought our hearts out. Good Luck to White house and their bdp nation next week and Great season Tigers!!!!!! We'll be back in the playoffs next year.

Also, to the poster that said the Greenbrier-Portland game should continue, I couldn't agree more. Same for Springfield-Greenbrier. Regardless of us all changing classifications, it makes for a fun night of football when we play each other, neighbors vs. neighbors, and it is usually a good game, regardless of school size.....

Way to go White House! Way to turn it on in the second half! Always good to beat Portland...Portland is indeed MUCH improved from last year. I will say that.

As far as the seating arrangements on Portland's visitor side,....TERRIBLE! Warning to all fans who have to play at Portland, you may want to stay home rather than deal with the current seating arrangements. Temporary bleachers at a HORRIBLE angle for the game. I would be embarrassed if I were Portland officials.

Congrats to White House. They played an excellent ball game. I wish them well in round 3. I have nothing bad to say about White House's team, fans, or coaches. However - anyone in their right mind should have known this was going to be a "huge" ballgame for Robertson County. White House was not ready for this big of a game. By that, I mean the parking, the concession, the ticket booth, the bathrooms, etc... Here are a few recomendations for Friday's game.Get a police officer to direct traffic at the entrance!!Parking - pure chaos! Have a plan in place.Tickets. There were people still trying to get tickets to get into the game at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. This is a huge rilvary, playoffs, etc.. We should not have to wait in line 45 minutes + to get a ticket into the game!!!!Sound system in that stadium is horrible. Visitors could not hear anything. Radio shack sells speakers and wire.Bathrooms - rent a few Johns for the games. We would have spent more at concession if we did not have to wait in line at the bathroom for most of the 20 min halftime.Concessions - again - most people next to me refrained from going to concessions because of the line. I know heritage has their own concession stand. Suggestion - open it!!! Sell more food, make more money for everyone!!Last but not least - SEATING - Visitor seating was terrible. There are no isles to walk up and down the stands except on the ends. Hundreds of fans had to stand due to not enough seating.Let's do it again next year!!! - but get your house in order before you invite us again.PS - this goes for Greenbrier as well. Be prepared for the big game!Thanks -Devoted Football Fan.

Thanks, I guess, for the "nice" comments about our team. I agree with you 110% about our facilities lacking, but you must not direct your comments toward anyone in the White House football program. Everything in that park, the good and the bad, is and should be directed toward the City of White House. They make money off of our ticket sales, and are fully responsible for things such as bathrooms, parking you name it. As far as parking, there were plenty of empty spaces left throughout the city park. Many people chose to park in the grass, but it was not necessary. Over the years, the parking and what not was less than accomodating at your field. You had very little visitor seating, etc. Fortunately, this year you guys made the upgrades. That was great by the way! This year's game was great, as I actually had a SEAT for the first time ever!

Nevertheless, please direct your complaints toward our city leaders....I, too, agree that our ticket line needs improvement (although I doubt anyone stood in line for 45 full minutes) , and our sound system is one of the worst of any and all the schools I have visited. Ask them to help us out...we would appreciate it!

One more thing....there is a SECOND ticket line at the other end zone. Did you not try it?

Yeah, that's pretty lame by Bisonmom. You always gotta go for your boys in the county once you're gone. Heck, I went to two SC playoff games to support them.

White House 36 Greenbrier 7....I can't remember who it was, but someone predicted WH would win 35-7. They were the closest. I stayed away from this board all week to avoid all the stupid trash talking and bickering between both sides. I am just glad it is over and it went the way it did.

Play of the game for me was the blocked punt returned for the TD by I believe Payne right before the end of the first half.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Coachhard, but with DeKalb winning over Macon, from what I'm told tonight it goes to Region wins, which would put us in at #4 since we won over Sycamore. That's kinda what I read in the TSSAA possibllities too.

 

I want to say GREAT GAME to the Bobcats tonight. They played hard and gave it their all adn I don't think anybody (not even White House fans) can say that Greenbrier didn't give them a tough game. I agree with you Coachhard and the other poster that watched CSS. The refs call was bad but WH's had a great kick at the end of the game. Three last minute losses in a row show that Greenbrier CAN hang with good teams like Pearl Cohn and White House. Hopefully we can find a way to finish it up with the W at the next game.

Ya'll played a great game. I can't believe you guys are what, 5-5? If so, that record is VERY misleading. Greenbrier had a great game plan, played sound, mostly mistake free football, and we kept shooting ourselves in the foot as well. Anyway, it wouldn't have been right if you guys hadn't made the playoffs. You are too good to be sitting at home.

By the way...LOVE the new stadium renovations! Loved actually having a seat there, and your new home side is AWESOME...and also the food was great. Love me some fries smothered in nacho cheese.

I definately think private should play private and public should play public ... it makes the playing field more even ... the multipier doesnt offset anything .... you only need say 30 players of the maybe 600 at that private school to have good teams ... and when you see players from all over the counties going to a private school and then you hear about families being wined and dined to influence moms and dads to send their son or daughter there .. it unevens the playing feild IMO ... I think there are more private schools now and that could make 2 divisions work pretty well .. and the private schools have the financial backing to afford more or further travel ..... thoughts ????
