I'd go with the hot hand. If the Rankin kid is special (and I keep hearing everyone say he is), why not start him for the next 3 years? Portland will already have 4 quarters under their belt versus a very good team in Westmoreland going in to week 1 versus the Devils. If the Devils go into the Portland game with the mindset they did last year, the Panthers will take it to them just like they did in that game. Put the best players on the field like any other team would, and WIN BABY!

Despite making many mistakes and playing rather sloppy in the first half, the Devils win over the Panthers yet again. Way to go BDP. I listened to the replay this morning on the Portland radio station, and they accused WH of playing overly aggressive and also blamed the officials (who I admit, managed the game fairly poorly as far as time and indecisiveness after penalties). When all else fails, blame everyone but yourself I guess. That being said, I hate to see Portland struggling, but am always happy to get a victory over our rivals. Also like to point out that White House's crowd was HUGE, but Portland had empty spots on that small visitors side. It wasn't like that years ago when their side was standing room only. GO BIG BLUE. Good luck to the Panthers as well....

Way to go Blue Devils! GREAT game front to back, and a great way to head into the playoffs. Also, to the poster that said the Greenbrier-Portland game should continue, I couldn't agree more. Same for Springfield-Greenbrier. Regardless of us all changing classifications, it makes for a fun night of football when we play each other, neighbors vs. neighbors, and it is usually a good game, regardless of school size.....

Way to go White House! Way to turn it on in the second half! Always good to beat Portland...Portland is indeed MUCH improved from last year. I will say that. As far as the seating arrangements on Portland's visitor side,....TERRIBLE! Warning to all fans who have to play at Portland, you may want to stay home rather than deal with the current seating arrangements. Temporary bleachers at a HORRIBLE angle for the game. I would be embarrassed if I were Portland officials.

Thanks, I guess, for the "nice" comments about our team. I agree with you 110% about our facilities lacking, but you must not direct your comments toward anyone in the White House football program. Everything in that park, the good and the bad, is and should be directed toward the City of White House. They make money off of our ticket sales, and are fully responsible for things such as bathrooms, parking you name it. As far as parking, there were plenty of empty spaces left throughout the city park. Many people chose to park in the grass, but it was not necessary. Over the years, the parking and what not was less than accomodating at your field. You had very little visitor seating, etc. Fortunately, this year you guys made the upgrades. That was great by the way! This year's game was great, as I actually had a SEAT for the first time ever! Nevertheless, please direct your complaints toward our city leaders....I, too, agree that our ticket line needs improvement (although I doubt anyone stood in line for 45 full minutes) , and our sound system is one of the worst of any and all the schools I have visited. Ask them to help us out...we would appreciate it! One more thing....there is a SECOND ticket line at the other end zone. Did you not try it?
