  1. If they do move Searcy to linebacker some folks better watch out! I think he will excel at that posistion and end up being one of the BIG surprises of the season for BA. When he hits you, YOU KNOW IT!
  2. Great win last night ! To dominate a team like that while having 5 fumbles just shows how good this team can really be. So sorry for Parker. To work that hard for all these years and be out for your senior year is so unfair. We will really miss him on the field. But his leadership will still be there. This is why EVERYONE has to be ready to play. It only takes one hit for the backup to be the starter! Someone will have to step up BIG TIME to fill Parker's shoes . A great opportunity awaits the guy who decides he wants to be a player and make a difference. Can't wait to see who that will be! 248 yards rushing against our defense is way to much!!! Thank goodness they couldn't hold on to the ball. Trinity 35 - MBA 7!!!
  3. FOUR DAYS UNTIL "SHOWTIME"
  4. Even though we were playing in a mis-match, I thought B.A. showed so much improvement! Really thought Brad looked solid at QB. He is throwing the ball so much better than he was a week ago. We had a good punt this week and made all extra points. I must say that Parker's spirit and leadership on defense is outstanding. Man there are some GREAT underclassmen out there! Tyree, Ryan, Dillon, Bill, Chase, and on and on! With the senior leadership this year we should win it all and DOMINATE for the next 3 years. Does anyone know what injury Dillon Searcy has? He had ice all over him after practice the other day and was limping at the scrimmage. I think he could be an important part of this defense this year-he's one of the hardest hitters I've seen in a long time.
  5. It's hard to think anyone could be as quick as Theo. I'm with you though, I can't wait to see Tyree and Ryan work when they know they're "the guys".
  6. Hope we see the REAL B. A. EAGLES tomorrow night at Beech. Let's show them who we really are and kick some you know what. We haven't got long to get ready for Mr. Steel!!
  7. UTennFAN, Thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy!!! About yesterday's scrimmage, do the players from BA ever get fired up and excited? Those guys from Straton had so much enthusiasm after every play. Our guys acted like it was a big pain in the --- to be on the field. I just don't understand that!! There are thousands of guys who would give anything to play at a powerhouse school like BA and play for a legend like Coach Flatt. How about getting excited about the opportunity each player is getting at BA. You never know which college scout is watching at a practice, and the coaches don't always know. But they will be hanging out at BA. That is the benefit of playing for someone like BA.
  8. To ba Best, finally someone comes out of the BA closet and suggest that Tyler might need to be on the field most of the time. I know I didn't have to be as harsh in posting my opinion about this but it seemed so obvious to me. I agree with you 100%. At the same time, I know Coach Flatt MUST have a good reason for starting the year with the current lineup. Knowing him , I think he is playing Tyler at many posistions right now so Tyler can go into a game on offense in a number of different places-where he is needed most for a certain situation. I think Flatt is hoping Brad and Tyree can handle their posistion well enough that Tyler doesn't HAVE to play aa ton of offense and can be rested so he can lead what they hope to be the best defense in the state. I hope it works!!!
  9. Thanks for the update on the scrimmage. Is Stratford that good? Well, you know how it is when your on top of the heap, everyone gets up for B.A.
  10. Sorry to hear about Colthrop's injury. Hey, the guys might have just "hit the wall" today- it happens to everyone. How did the passing game look today?
  11. To all my fellow POSTERS and Brentwood Academy supporters: I thought this forum was a place to discuss the truth about how each of us sees the current season unfolding and throw out some ideas for discussion that were founded on reasonable justification. If all you want to hear is a bunch of "RAH-RAH" for BA then go to a pep rally!!! I have said many more positive statements about this team than negative ones. It seems that when someone takes a different view point to a decision that everyone who writes about high school football in Tennessee has questioned you can't handle it. I am by no means saying Coach Flatt is wrong. Brad is improving with every practice and Tyler will get the job done no matter where he plays.
  12. Great!!! A guy who runs better than Tyree or Ryan, throws the ball better than anyone on the field, and was the QBwho led us to the state championship game last year may"just go in for select plays" at tailback or wide receiver. Do you hear what your saying? Maybe we can put Parker on offense full time and send him in on"a few select plays" on defense at SAFETY!!! SAME LOGIC.
  13. One last thought on Tyler playing both ways. Barry's going to do it!!! On defense we have the MVP of the SUPER SEVEN state championship game in Parker. Plus Josh, Barry, Matt, T.T., and so much depth it's unreal. Tyler at wide receiver? Gosh, I wonder how many times he'll touch the ball out there? Tyler at tailback?Okay, we can let Tyree and T.T. have a conversation on the sideline while Tyler takes a helmet to the knee and can't play linebacker either. There is only one position where Tyler will have the ball on every play and be able to "make a difference" and that is at QB. Tyler doesn't have to be the QB for B.A. to win the state championship. But to be one of the great high school teams in the country this year , he'll need to be the QB.
  14. Junk in the trunk, I am a huge supporter of B.A. and have followed them for longer than I care to admit. That doesn't mean I have to ignore the obvious. Nothing would please me more than for Brad to be SENSATIONAL this year, but I am very concerned about his accuracy. The coaches must have some concern or they wouldn't be changing his grip this late. This isn't his first year playing QB!! Maybe the work he has done over the weekend will really pay off in that area. I see the potential for GREATNESS in this team, not mediocraty. I'm sure Brad is working as hard as he can to be the best he can be this year. These next two weeks will tell the story.
  15. Trust me, ITZME , I am not a MBA fan and have followed B.A. for longer than I care to admit. My evaluation of the starting QB is based on production in practice and on the field. Yes there have only been 8 practices this last week, but Brad has known he would probably start for a long time. This is traditional powerhouse school and that comes with a responsibility!!! Why wasn't he out working with the receivers every day this summer getting down the timing. Two weeks before the opener is not when you start!! Tyler SHOULD be playing QB!!!!!
