So were at Lavergnes stadium and it looks like Riverdale Has home field advantage. There is so little people on home side with less then 3 mins till kick off. I was able to count 179 easily that's all. Plus or minus a few. Why can't a school this big produce more fans than that at their home field. Maybe that's why they don't win many because they don't get support. I've seen plenty of teams with losing records who produce more then that! Come on Lavergne fans your team could use you!!!!!!!

If Tez Bryant gets returns like he did against us that will give them a huge advantage on offense he is a great kid and soooo nice! Another name that you will be hearing alot from HHS is Priddy he is also very talented. I think coming out of the loss from Riverdale I want to say the win goes to Hendersonville and I will be pulling for them! Good luck and hopefully no injuries!

Not to jump on the bandwagon here but when we played them in 04 at the state championships a few were saying some things. I mean it could of been no more then 10 people but still I really remember this.

As we were leaving... I was right behind a group of them all I hear is those MFers cheated, there is no way they beat us like that, they live here this isn't fair, and F those N****s!

I almost said something then I remembered I was so pregnant I might go into labor because they made me mad. That was my JR year and shoot if we were going to cheat I guess we would of done it my freshman yr when we went to the ship and lost to Brentwood, or my sophomore year when we lost to Germantown. Like seriously they did not play well that night and they couldn't take it. What is more shocking was the N word comment because we lost most of our black people after my freshman year due to rezoning.

Maybe the only reason I remember it is because when I think of Franklin as in the city.. I think of what a nice area that is- but when I seen the school that night I thought of their poor behavior. I don't have nothing against them now and I know that's not all the kids just a very small amount but I guess those kids need to figure out money doesn't give you everything and it doesn't make you better then anyone else. Playoff brackets arent quite as easy as they were back in like 05. Anyways I may be wrong but i believe the TSSAA site lists maryville in the 1st quad.?

Spoken like a woman who never played the game... Good thing the football players and coaches know overlooking anyone is a good way to get beat.

Im sure the players and coaches know and they aren't looking over Lavergne. I'm sure they have studied and prepared thereselves for them not any one else at this point.

However if I'm concerned about anyone it is Blackman and thats the honest truth.

The AP (Associated PRESS) is a relic of the past. It is made up of the main newspapers in the state. Each member gets one vote. As most of the member papers are in upper east Tn, there is ALWAYS some votes for DB to be at the top of the polls. This was VERY apparent when they were voted over R'dale when we went to the State Championships every year and they usually choked in either the first or second game of the playoffs. They make the playoffs every year because they do NOT play anyone who could ruin their magical 10-0 record every year. Yet when they play REAL compitition they usually get their tails handed to them. If Maryville was not in 6A, I can guarentee DB would be in the number one slot in the poll.

 

Thusly I usually either ignore or laugh at the AP poll, much like I laugh at the newspapers they represent.

I knew what the AP stood for but never figured it out but I should have considering Associated Press would be the newspapers! Duh

sorry for my lack of competence. i do agree with us being under Maryville but I dont understand how 2 of them would give DB first place votes even over maryville.

This may be the saddest story of all time...It will be a similar scene this year when Riverdale loses in the playoffs.

Thats harsh! Im taking it week by week! Right now our biggest concern is Blackman. The playoffs will be here and we will be in it. I think we can porbably beat any team maybe even Maryville. Im not saying we will beat every team but you never know what can happen. We dont always play our best game without mistakes but when the boys see that we arent doing to hot they know how to step up and make the plays they need. Anything can happen and your right we might lose in the playoffs and i would be just as upset as I was back then. However, if we lose its no ones fault but our own!

You are in for a GREAT High School football experience in Texas! You will see even small schools that have programs that rival R'dale and will make it look pale in comparison. While a portion of the students and parents showed up to R'dale games, in Texas the ENTIRE student body shows up as well as the whole town in some places there. Some of their bigger schools could play and beat a bunch of Tn Colleges!

 

For some of the 5a games in Texas the fans would fill the MTSU stadium to capacity!

when i went to texas to visit i went around and my brother took me to see all the high school stadiums. alot of the stadiums arent owned by the school itself but by the san antonio independent school district. These stadiums were huge. there is one called the almao and its the biggest in texas and has seat surrounding it completely. so i hope it is more exciting down there! ill still always be a riverdale fan:).

As far as this game I just cant wait because once we get thru Lavergne we will have Blackman in a few weeks and that will be our real test!

R'dale KNOWS the LaVergne Coach well! Some of us are still upset about the Oak Ridge game. I am GLAD he is at LaVergne. It give us a guarenteed chance of beating him EVERY year!

San Antonio area! My brother lives in Converse pretty much connected to SA. If i happened to stay there and not move then my daughter would go to a high school named Judson, they are 5a (highest class in tx right now) and they are undefeated and generally has a really good program, (of course nothing on riverdale)! I hear ft hood is nice! Im excited to move to texas Im just not into TN that much!

Tell your daughter that if she gets real, real good at basketball, then she will magically reappear in Riverdale's zone about the time she gets to the 9th grade.

Besides that my daughter could never play bball-

She has been cheering competitively so she only does allstars! She has already acquired more skills then most high school cheerleaders and she is flier and can pull all the stretches they do in their stunts.

However she gets wayyy to into the game to ever do sideline cheering. If she can't continuously watch she would be highly upset!!

For those of you who don't know when I went to Riverdale I was on colorguard my freshman year. During 2nd qtr we had to practice and could not watch the game. No matter where we are at I had to see the game. The band members (2 of them) had to carry me out of Lincoln county's stadium during regular season when we lost to them in "the pit." because I was crying so badly!

Same with losing to brentwood in the state championship I just wasn't prepared for that!

The colorguard coach nor band director were amused by this and I got in trouble lol.

I made the colorguard team my sophomore year and I was told I could no longer go to the footballs teams practice after mine and if I had any more problems that I'd be taken off and that means if I had a problem with not being able to watch the game during parts of the game I was off.

I told them that's ok I quit that colorguard didn't mean that much to me!

My daughter is me made over and she desperately wants to go to Riverdale. Her dad graduated in 2005 a year before me and played football for Riverdale all of those years so I think it's in her blood!

We are fans and or alumi or maybe have had kids or family go there. The same as any other fan is for their program.

I believe what was said about the Lavergne game is true. I mean their is always the chance we could lose but nothing against Lavergne I don't think they have it.

We play with the best of teams more then most school.

Smyrna and Siegel are very strong programs we just happened to have beat them putting a big X on our backs knowing that they are coming for us and if we had to see eitheir of them again the outcome could be different.

The same as I'm going to say we have 2 more very talented teams in Blackman and Oakland that we have yet to play. These are games to not take lightly and I'm sure both want to beat us more then any team on their schedule because we are undefeated.

We have always been a good program just like we were a decade ago. We may not be ranked high nationally like we use to be but that's not to say anything and that we won't be there again one day.

I don't think we have as many Dave Thomas' and Gaston Millers like we use to but we have a talented team. We have nobody like Mathers from Blackman eitheir and that's ok. Though how awesome it would be if he would of been a warrior lol!

Anyways what I'm saying is we support are team and we don't have to go to the State Championship every year to know that we have a chance to go again someday.

My 6 year old daughter goes to the games and loves it and she screams just as loud as everyone else. She knows more about football then probably any boy in her class. She tells me how badly she wants to go to Riverdale when she is in 9th grade and that's awesome too bad we move to Texas next year.

I graduated in 06 and I think I made every single game but maybe 1 when I went there and it was the best years of my life!

I would love and support Riverdale if they were 0-6 or 6-0!

I don't think this game will even be close!

Riverdale will definitely show up!!

Only thing I worry about is the visitor side. Luckily I live in Smyrna like 3 mins away so I'll be there plenty early to claim my seat!
