If a coach is interested and competive enough and thinks he or she can turn this program around, I don't beleve having to meet with a committee would be a problem, and then again if they are just looking for a place and just a job, then we don't need them. They don't want the job very bad if thats all thats standing in their way.

Is copies of the games available?, if so how much, and who would I connect to get a copy.

I agreed, these REBEL with the RIGHT coach could be very competitive next year in our district, these boys know how to play basketball, what they need is some discipline and guideance in what they should do and what they shouldn't do on the floor during a game, and KNOW that what he (the coach) says is how its gonna be. "Haste makes waste" The new coach will not be hired in the next 2-3weeks, due to OC past record of hurrying up and get somebody, especially on the boys side. It will take at least until the middle and maybe the last of May before a coach will be hired, and that is only if theres is one the committee fills can do the job and get this Rebel team back on the winning track. GO GO GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!--Already looking foward to next season!!! Will be VERY interesting.

Committee will meet for the first time on the 3/22/05. Application have been received and will continue to be received until sometime in April. The goal is to have a person hired by middle of May. thumb

I have got to ask this--are you Melvin Smith? The committee to review the applacations have not even met yet, today was the first day to receive resume. What family does he have here in Obion County, and is that the ONLY reason he is looking at this job, and if not what other reasons is there.

Job will be posted and applications accepted starting March 14th, interview to start middle of April, and hopefully have one hired by sometimes in May.

It could be done, we have the players to do it B U T having them on the floor at the same time for a long length of time--- if not--W E L L--get out the baseball gloves. GOOD LUCK REBELS!!!!!!

Sorry ladyfan no names, because it just grapevine talk, nothing concrete. You are right about a go getter and yes i believe the results would be on a postive note, and yes i believe with this type of leadership, the PIT could rebound (ha ha) back to how it used to be. We have some great kids and with the right coaching---well maybe i'm dreaming-but i believe in these kids, they just need some directions with a little authority behind it!!!!!!

In 13AA the district and regional will be held at Gibson Co. (YEA). I believe Union City and Westview will be the top 2 teams to advance both in the dist. and the regional, after that it gets a little sticky, Haywood will be a team to watch out for.

I believe with the ''RIGHT'' 5 on the floor the Rebels can play good ball and come away with a victory. They have being playing better of late although their record does not show it, but they are getting used to one another and coach Russ Davis is finding out who really wants to play. I am hoping for better things from this REBEL team in this 2nd half of the season. "GO REBELS"

the Obion Central Rebels(2-12) were victories over the host team Huntington Mustangs (7-1) 59-58 in the Huntington point guard classic. coach Russ Davis played 16 players. the scoring by quarters was 15-14--38-28,-51-35,& 59-58. Rebels play Brighton Jan. 4th (Tue) at the pit. Good luck Rebels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, head coach Mike Greer resigned this afternoon, talk to some of the players and some were crying, some were shock, and some didn't know what to say, they thought things were turning around, they had won their last 2 games and felt really good about themselfs and had a little momentum going their way and felt pretty good about the program and about the way and direction coach Greer was taking them. It was a SAD time at practice this afternoon, It will take 5-8 games to get this team back on track because of the relationship coach Greer and the boys had with one another. Could be another long season for the REBELS if they don't quickley pull out of this.
