WAVERLY JR HIGH --1998-1999 TIS TEAM WENT 9-0. THEY HAD TWO CLOSE GAMES ALL YEAR. ONE GAME WAS AGAINST WAYNE COUNTY WINNING BY LESS THAN 10 AND THE OTHER WAS AT THE TMSSAA MIDDLE SCHOOL SHOOTOUT IN COLUMBIA. WAVERLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CLASS A TEAM BUT MOVED UP TTO THE AA GAME TO PLAY A CLASS AAA, MT. JULIET TEAM. AT THAT TIME THERE WERE ONLY 3 CLASSES FOR JR. HIGH, I BELIEVE. THIS GAME WENT INTO 2 OR 3 OT'S WITH WAVERLY SCORING A TOUCHDOWN AND MAKING THE 2PT CONVERSION TO WIN THE GAME. IT WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES I HAVE EVER SEEN PLAYED IN ANY DIVISION OF FOOTBALL. PEOPLE SAY THAT JR HIGH DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING, BUT IT IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS ANY OTHER LEVEL IN THE PERFORMANCES OF THE KIDS. DID ANYONE EVER SEE THIS GAME? GIVE YOUR COMMENTS PLEASE.

WE LOOKED LIKE CRYBABYIES SOMETIMES BECAUSE WE WOULD RECALL ONE GAME THAT WE WON AND NOT THE TIMES WE HAD LOST. AS I SAID BEFORE WHEN FAIRVIEW STARTS TO WIN SOME BIG GAMES YOU CAN START TALKING BIG. UNTIL THEN QUIT DOWNING TEAMS THAT YOU WOULD HAVE NO BUSINESS FACING, BECAUSE YOU WOULD GET BLOWN OUT.

who cares you still lost that game. I'm all for UT grabbing the best in state talent, but if you have the chance to get the best talent in the nation and you go for someone else because they are from Tennessee then your letting that great talent go to teams that you will possibly play later. Who wants to say that, I just got beat by some kids that I could have gotten if I had not pick this in state talent that cannot break into the starting lineup. As a coach, I could not forgive myself for letting my team, coaches, and state down because I was sentimental to a Tn high school player. Do you think Oklahoma is going to take a player from their state over a player from Fla that is a better player just because he is from Oklahoma. I don't think so. TALKED TO SOME GUYS FROM HOUSTON COUNTY. THEY THINK CAMDEN IS A FLUKE. THEY KNEW THEY WOULD BEAT WAVERLY, BUT THEY FELT THAT MCCKENZIE HAD AN OFF NIGHT. I BELIEVE THAT CAMDEN WINS BY TWO TD'S IN A GREAT HARD FOUGHT GAME. CAMDEN GO PLAY YOUR GAME AND SHOW THESE HOUSTON COUNTY PEOPLE WHO HAVE REDSKIN AROUND THEIR NECKS WHO THE BETTER TEAM IS. If you were aat this game you should have seen Waverly move the ball down inside the 10 of Camden four times and on three of those times miscues by Waverly itself stopped them not the Camden Defense. You will have to play better than that to beat McKenzie.

On deck I agree with you there. If memory serves me right, I believe they threw only four or five times against beech and still scored 40 points. I also believe that there fullback had almost 150 yards and the tailback had over 100 yards. Could this backfield be close to the backfield in the early 90's when DC pushed around everyone that they played.

waverly has a good chance to win. I have heard that LC is not quite as strong as they have been in the past. Waverly will have to play better than they did against Camden. Giving away the ball inside the 10 yd line on four occasions won't get you into the win column.

tink69 how can you open your mouth to talk with that big foot of yours in it. CW may be a good team and I hope they are, but don't keep jacking up the hype when it is known that if they don't get better on the line then they can't win. You can't run the ball if you don't have room to run it. we will be waiting for your humorous replies.
