No just a little smaller than McKenzie who will play 2a in playoffs. Huntingdon is 1a in regular season and playoffs I believe. Three or four schools across the state sitting in there at 382, Eagleville is 383 I think that is largest enrollment of single A school.

Around 4:30! I hope it doesn't rain. I don't think it is supposed to. I am looking forward to it as well. I want to see what Wortham, and Haynes can do running the ball.

Spring Practice is going on, go out and see the team for yourself. They seem inspired and back to wanting to hit someone. Looking forward to seeing them scrimmage South Fulton. It is either Tuesday or Thursday of this week. Can anyone clarify what day the scrimmage will be and at what time?

Any chance they will reschedule it for next week?

I know S.P. is tough and some of the others that have been mentioned are perennial powers of class A but Huntingdon is a perennial power in class AA and beat out Alcoa for a state title just a few years ago and lost to them the next year. Let this be known. I am not a Huntingdon fan, but when they get that new offense hitting on all cylinders they are going to make an imapact in 1A ball. If they don't, I will be very surprised. I hope I am wrong because my team is in the district with them, but I really believe they will be going to the Boro in the next couple years. Maybe this year.

I am not from Camden but watch them play often as I live in the area. They are a good team year in and year out under the direction of Coach Ward. They also have several very good assistant coaches that will be moving up into head coaching positions in the next few years. They were not as good last year as they have been the previous few but I think you will find a very competitive team has entered your district. I too was very surprised that Fairview just lined down and ran over them last year and that is about all you can say about that victory. I was there and watched it. Milan beat them pretty soundly but Camden had their moments in that game. Everyone else they handled pretty well. I will be very surprised if they finish lower that 2nd or 3rd in the district and not very surprised if they finish 1st. It is going to be an interesting year with all the new alignments. I am still not sure how the playoff thing is going to shake out. I guess we will just wait and see. I do hate that all Camden has been moved into Middle TN district and we will not have as much opportunity to see them against local teams.

We had a good deal of rain last night but they still may have a chance to play. The practice field is on high ground and handles water pretty good. The field has got all year to heal up, I hope they go ahead and play ball rain or shine. They need to get one in probably worse than Lewis County. Hope to see you all up there this evening.

If anyone gets news on the scrimmage being canceled or if it is for sure still on please post and let everyone know. I would think it would take a lot more rain than this to cancel a scrimmage that is badly needed by both teams.

I don't really know who is left in 1A. Most of the powerhouses of 1A have landed in 2A. I think South Pittsburg and Huntingdon have to be talked about as two of the favorites to go to the boro.

Bruceton hosts South Fulton sometimes next week. Probably Thursday or Friday or so I have been told.

When Where and Who are the scrimmages with?

A call out to all Bruceton Football Alumni Come out and watch a practice. I think you will like what you see. Scrimmage game Thursday afternoon!!!!!!

I was also very excited to see the changes in practice. The new guys are bringing back how it was done a few years ago. The practices are conducted very much like Coach McGee and Coach Sturdivant used to conduct them in regards to scheme and content. I saw some good points made to the line and to the backs in individual drills. Emphasis on fundamentals like staying low moving feet, wrapping up on defense, breaking tackles on offense, protecting the ball... a lot of good teaching. A few people thought, when they heard Williams getting vocal with the players, that Coach McGee was actually back out there. LOL I really had more than one person say that to me. The kids are showing some want to hit you. That seems to have been lacking for whatever reason for the last few years. Even to some degree in that team that went 7-3. I really think that bunch could have been very good had they had the Sturd/McGee coaching for 4 years. Haynes, Jordan, Hamsen, King all looked good. QB looked pretty good. New TB, Wortham looked good especially to be a Freshman. Actually saw the D step up and ask to lay down the pads and want to hit somebody yesterday. I havn't seen that in a while. They got fired up and it was a good little scrap. Kid they call cowboy has a lot of potential. Better atmosphere, more enthusiasm, = better football and more wins. I am much like you I went to one game last year and that was all I could take. Ended up at Camden or Henry County most of the other Friday nights and through playoffs, and I wasn't alone. Bruceton had a pretty good section at all the games I attended. LOL Don't plan on seeing many of those games this year. Back on board, excited and following the Tigers again! I don't expect them to beat Lewis County Thursday, but I do expect that they will show up and give 110% from what I have seen in practice so far and that is half the battle! They say that there are about 10 guys to get physical yet.

Was out and watched practice yesterday. Enthusiasm seemed really good. Had a good number of boys out. Upper 20's to 30 I would say. Have several yet to get pads due to taking physicals I was told. One of the players said they had about 10 more in the wings on the way out. They scrimmage Lewis Co. at Bruceton on Thursday afternoon and Riverside? next week. Someone said Riverside, not sure on that. Looked like they were trying to get back to hard nosed blocking and running style that has worked well in the past. Haynes and Hanson looked good in backfield. Tom Tom King gave offensive line fits. He is gonna be a good nose guard over next couple years. Overall they looked pretty good to just be getting their feet under them.

Did they play? If so how bout a score, if not when are they gonna play?

Did anyone ever find out when spring practice will officially begin? I heard that Williams was gonna be over the defense and Thomas Off Cord.. Anyone heard anything along these lines? I hope Shan Walters gets to work with that line some. He was all state and should know what he's doing with those guys down in the trenches having spent all that time over there with Coach McGee. Is Coach McGee possibly going to help out some? Heard someone say that could be a possibility.

It will take a year or two to rebuild, but I believe the new coaches can get it done. Having the support of the community and the fans will help. I also believe the interest from the players will be renewed. I don't believe that Bruceton fans are unreasonable. They did not immediately ask for changes during the last coaching staff's tenure. They had five years. I do agree with you that the fans must be patient but I think we will see a much more energized bunch of players in spring ball.

Knowing Jamie, and how passionate he is for Bruceton Football, I am sure that he is very excited about his new position. I know everyone that I have talked to are very excited and happy for Coach Williams. I am looking forward to seeing how the kids respond next week during Spring Practice. I believe they will come out of the woodwork to play for Coach Williams. Is Coach Walters still going to be junior high or will he be helping with high school? Good Luck and Restore the Roar!

Is he from Dyersburg or McKenzie? McKenzie has a long time assistant coach named Snow.

Is this confirmed or just a rumor? I hope it is true. Jamie will be a great coach. He understands the program and what it is all about. I can see a lot of kids coming out and playing hard for him. Good luck and it is a very exciting change. Is there any other changes? I heard that there would be two new coaches. Anyone heard anything along those lines. Does anybody know when Spring Practice is going to take place? I heard it would be around this time of the year.

I would like to see it back at Vandy. Nashville is very centrally located.
