I’m hearing Kaleb Martin is leaving Rhea to go to Bradley.

We will have a new Mr Football next year. Anyone to keep an eye out for next fall?
Region 1
Will Daniel Boone go back to back in the region or will newcomer Sevier County challenge db.
Region 2 West and Powell will go head to head in this region. Can Knox Central be a dark horse in this region
Region 3 It’s Oak Ridge than everyone else. Should be a fun Region to watch for 2nd on back.
Region 4 Can McMinn go back to back? Can Rhea rebound? East Hamilton joins the region and adds some nice depth
Region 5 This new Region looks entertaining
Region 6 Nolensville and Page look like they will be the contenders
Region 7 is going to be tough with Beech dropping down after the 6A title game appearance. Add in Hendersonville with Henry, Portland, and Springfield someone really good might be left out of the playoffs.
Region 8- Will Mumford win the region again but be able to make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs?
Way too early top 10
1. Knox West
2. Beech
3. Powell
4. Page
5. Henry Co.
6. Nolensville
7. Springfield
8. Daniel Boone
9. Oak Ridge
10. Centennial
Honorable mention
East Hamilton, McMinn Co, Knox Central, Franklin Co Mumford
In all honesty I hadn’t looked yet at what everyone is losing senior wise so it is subject to change.

I can’t speak for Thursday or Friday but Saturday had good attendance especially on the visitor side with AC and Tyner playing. I thought for the distance travelled Riverside had a good showing as well Beech attendance was good too I was a little disappointed Oakland didn’t have more fans there.

Wasn't there a shooting in Finley stadium itself last yr?
No, there was a large fight between a bunch of teens and a teen got tazed for fighting. No shooting.
As far as crime there is crime pretty much any city. Memphis is bad, that’s national known, but yeah there is crime in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, even places like Clarksville. Pretty much anywhere that has a sizable population is going to have some crime, some worse than others.
I’ve been going to events at Finley since it opened and I’ve never felt unsafe going down there especially if there is an event going on at finley or really any of the businesses around the stadium for that matter.

Currently because it’s a grass field. Having that many games would destroy the playing surface. Plus the titans field is historically not great to play on to begin with.
I’ve enjoyed the games in Chattanooga though.

lots of conversations about this on the D2 board. who knows? they could get someone to keep it going and the wheels could come off. im hoping for the former. they have a lot of advantages for whoever takes over compared to 4 years ago, so fingers crossed.
The key will be making the right hire for LA Baylor proved that Thursday the right hire can go along way. Baylor was pretty good but the new coach put them over the top this year.

One could also look at it as if the Tennessee public schools need to research how the Texas public schools are so dominant against the private schools! Just a hunch but the Texas public schools place much more emphasis on football than the public schools in Tennessee.
Yeah I would say there is more funding and emphasis for public schools in Texas than Tennessee. Privates in Tennessee have way more resources and funding than most public schools when it comes to football.

Oct 26th next year will be fun and probably for the region.

The thing I seen from watching the PC and Haywood game that might give AC trouble is just the size up front for PC. PC has some big guys blocking and defending. AC will definitely have to run the ball effectively to help keep the passing game free and with any team don’t turn the ball over.

I see where Red Bank plays in that region AC use to play in and didn’t exactly dominate it. Are the Chattanooga teams better or Red Bank just not that good?
Well Red Bank’s offense isn’t that good. Defense is good on the other hand. I do think some teams have improved not to the level of AC though.

Anyone else have their schedules completed?
Looks like Rhea Co has already lined up a complete schedule
Week 1 Aug 18 Soddy Daisy
Week 2 Aug 25 Red Bank
Week 3 Sept 1 @ Knox Central
Week 4 Sept 8 Howard*
Week 5 Sept 15 Cleveland
Week 6 Sept 22 @ Walker Valley*
Week 7 Sept 29 McMinn Co*
Week 8 Oct 6 @ Ooltewah*
Week 9 Oct 13 Bye
Week 10 Oct 20 Tyner
Week 11 Oct 26 East Hamilton*
*=Region Game
Love the non-region slate with classic rivals Soddy, Red Bank, and Cleveland all back on the schedule. Knox Central and Tyner are very good non-region games. Weeks 5-7 will be a tough run and weeks 10 and 11 will be tough games too.
-
That is such a good idea.
Loving the Rhea Co
Schedule for next year
Week 1 Red Bank
Week 2 Soddy
Week 3 @ Knox Central
Week 4 Howard
Week 5 Cleveland
Week 6 @ Walker Valley
Week 7 McMinn Co
Week 8 @ Ooltewah
Week 9 Bye
Week 10 Tyner
Week 11 @ East Hamilton on Thursday Night

The defensive coordinator Clinton had was gone after the Campbell County game and I would think we would be looking for a replacement now that our season is over.
So what’s the deal behind letting the DC go in the middle of the season? Just seems like an odd time to make that move.

I need more info, how many seniors/starters did he lose from the previous year, maybe he changed the offense/defense, has hired a new staff, many factors go into it. I am sure he did not come right out the door winning at Maryville (could be wrong)...
GQ lost some really good players off the team before he took over to graduation and the transfer portal. One of the transfers looked pretty good playing for South Carolina on Saturday night. However by no means was the cupboard bare either. It was just one season GQ still has time to get things turned around.
