  1. So why should Webb get to have 200 more kids in their high-school? Schools like Davidson, Dca, FRA, EHCS all do it with 200 kids in their high school and only half of them boys. Webb dropped down so they could win state and everyone knows it. They said it themselves. I believe after the 2012 season they are moving back up? Did they want their glory boys (blance brothers) to have a chance to win it or something? Screw Webb. Play with school's that have the same enrollment. And as for roster numbers Webb and ECS had the most players. So i don't know why your saying only 2 schools had more players? name them then. Webb doesn't do more with less...they do more with more.

Wow Footballer69 your lack of knowledge and your jealousy is really showing!

  2. Initially it was not my understanding of the rule, but apparently it does apply. It is unfortunate for both the kid and the school as he could have contributed, but things work for the best, and he will get some good experience in JV and be a major contributor next year.

Unless of course he decides to transfer again. He would be eligible at Powell right?

CAK can't consider anybody an easy win, although a couple games should be more winnable than others. I'm always cautious about going into games with opponents I know very little about. I know Grace had a very good year last year, but I had heard they lost several of their impact players, but so did CAK. Are you aware of any "new" players that Grace may have had transfer in that will impact their team? What offensive and defensive scheme do they run? I heard they had installed a wing-t. I know you are more informed about the Panthers than the Rams, but thought you may be able to elaborate a bit. After reading some posts from last year, it's somewhat ominous how silent this board has been about Grace this spring & summer.

They will run multiple offenses even something my son calls the ND box i think. They do not have the athletes they had last year and have not brought in any. They will be a much weaker version of last year. Powell vs CAK would be a much better game for CAK. Your starters would at least play a full game and get better.

  4. Looks like a gag order has been placed on parents and fans.

Grace has made alot of progress. I think alot of their star players last year graduated, and it will be interesting to see what they have this year in upcoming Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores. I saw the CAK / Grace middle school game last year and it was outstanding. They had some good looking players that will be moving to HS this year, but it would be asking alot for many of them to be major contributors at the varsity level as freshmen.

Grace will not be very good at all. Easy win for CAK.

  5. yeah im going to grace. i have to sit out a year but its better than not getting a chance to show myself at powell

Why not prove yourself against the best at Powell? What if you get beat out at Grace or do you have promises?

  6. Your understanding matches my understanding of the rule. It is not relevant where a rising 8th grader played during his 8th grade year including spring practice, nor where he participates in summer workouts. Only once he has enrolled and school has started in August does it effect eligibility. However, I am not familiar with the specific section in the TSSAA handbook that addresses the issue, which was the basis for the question. Thanks for your input.

Please let us know how it all turns out.

  7. This is the dead period. Transfers are highly relevant to our football program.

I agree.... if the thread were Fulton basketball would it not be fine to discuss Campbell transferring to Fulton?

CAK should get some fine transfers and I have heard already have some interested but there are illegability issues because of participation in spring practices at other schools.
