  1. I agree that they should not be dismissed but should be disciplined and the players that are doing the right thing rewarded. Our players and parents understand and support Coach Inman's stance on matters like these. I guess practice what you preach comes in to play here.
  2. What happened? When Powell baseball players have done similar things they have been suspended from the team. This is a religious school right? Interesting to see what happens to them. How this is addressed will send a clear message to all their players. Coach Inman's players know not to mess around or they will be gone!
  3. Surely you realize by now that these are Farragut supporters trying to keep the Admirals "fired up" while making other team's supporters look bad. Bulletin board material to keep complacency away from their beloved Admirals!
  4. Delusional or arrogant..not sure which one would fit.
  5. Green at Powell Delmonico at Farragut Seidner at Catholic Wormsley and Parent at Webb Gibson at Clinton 2 freshman at Hall not sure of names Seymour has a few
  6. Well that is certainly not what the kid's mother said. " He practices with Knoxville Catholic's HIGH SCHOOL team and even won an exhibition match". I heard today that the TSSAA is already looking into this. The air is anything but clear. I wonder if Knoxville Catholic self reported when they saw the article?

    Legal?

There is a student at a PUBLIC middle school practicing/wrestling in exhibition matches with a PRIVATE school. Not on the same campus, not in the same system.....recruiting? legal or not?

    Legal?

Is it legal for a middle school wrestler to practice and wrestle in an exhibition match at a private high school?
  9. Is this worse than what Brentwood Academy was doing? Reported in the Knoxville Newspaper today. Nationally ranked 5th grade wrestler practices, workouts out, AND wrestles in an exhibition match for Knoxville Catholic High School. The 5th grader is a student at AL Lotts, a public school, not a Catholic school and certainly not a feeder school. How can this be on the up and up? Thoughts?
  10. I agree that Powell wins this one but i think it will be close. Without the rash of injuries Powell wins big!!!
  11. I was hoping Stone would transfer before the Dragons and the Panthers played. I am sticking to my bet that he will not be a Dragon next fall and very well could be in red and black. Sounds like Clinton is bringing up another young group to keep things the same.
  12. Trussler - Pending offer @ Northwestern and several other Ivy League Irwin - Several Ivy League offers and others Walden -Several Ivy League and Academy offers for basketball Tait - Considering several mid-major offers from excellent academic schools. Pfleger Considering several mid-major offers It will interesting to see how many of these actually sign with an Ivy league school or Northwestern. I didn't even realize Ivy league schools gave athletic scholarships (times have changed).
  13. When your players are getting offers from places like Nothwestern and Ivy League schools, you're doing it with slightly better than "passing" grades. Since you like to name names could you name several of those recent Catholic players that got "offers" from Northwestern/Ivy League schools. BaldCoach, Would you submit that the number of athletes that have been given a "second chance" at KCHS is greater than the number of non athletes?
  14. I am worried about this one but i think Powell will bounce back and win a close game. It should be an exciting homecoming victory.
  15. Go back and read ALL my posts. I have NEVER used any names (unlike you). My point is simply this: Powell is a public school and is controlled by the Knox County. Catholic is a private school. One would think their admission standards would be higher.
  16. You should go back and look at the history of my involvement with CAK. After CAK soundly defeated my team, Powell, in the jamboree I started the topic Poor Powell. I expressed my concern about our season and upset some CAK fans by stating something to the effect that CAK was not a top level team and was not close to the competition Powell would be facing this season. Those were my feelings. I was told i didn't know what I was talking about and that CAK could compete with teams in higher divisions. Webb was specifically mentioned and I was told to wait until September 28th and I would see. I could care less who won the Webb/CAK game but I was not pleased to have so many CAK "fans" react harshly to my Poor Powell post! Call it crowing if you want but CAK fans were the ones that brought it up not me! I hope CAK has a great season but let's be realistic.
  17. Anderson county maybe big and strong enough to match up with Catholic. They sure took it to us last Friday night, especially in the second half. This should be a good one. I know Vann was at AC how many other former AC players are now at Catholic? 3 or 4
  18. Congratulations! Good luck against Alcoa.
  19. Thank you. i hope junior played well!
  20. Just wait until the 28th of Sept. when CAK plays Webb to see what I mean. I waited!
  21. Just a reminder of how CAK folks rebuked me when I said Powell would have a long season because CAK beat them in the jamboree. I told you CAK was not a top level team! You greatly underestimate CAK. I'll compare them to Webb i guess, anyway Webb played tough out of region opponents LIKE POWELL (beat them both times not on their "off years") and did very well including knocking off Knox West twice. CAK is just as good as Webb has been if not better. They beat many upper division teams in scrimages this summer including Bearden. I think CAK could easily compete with 3-4A teams not necessarily make playoffs every year but definitely be in the Powell Halls range of the region this year. Just wait until the 28th of Sept. when CAK plays Webb to see what I mean. CAK folks? or have you learned your lesson? being humble works best!
  22. It is certainly FUNNY to hear you questioning standards about admittance and the quality of the person given the school you represent. My point exactly. How can a student that could not be admitted to even POWELL be admitted by KNOX CATHOLIC? Powell was told he would have to attend Alternative School first. WOW KCHS standards must be lower than Knox County thank you. FUNNY?
