  1. No! I would just like to challenge both DE's to play like crazy tonight, play their hearts out - because that's what it will take to beat Ooltewah - and i want to see a GOOD game! Thanks Tribefan
  2. tribefan and baby: Although blatantly honest - you are very perceptive. Yes, the defensive end position is a weakness for the Cherokees. I would assume that the coaching staff would have changed that after the Cumberland game. but as it stands the same 2 are starting there. I can't understand why Calvin Smith (and the other ends name is Cleland (sp?)) and Cleland look so timid. Why don't they let loose and play football. I would hope that the coaches aren't telling them to play so slow and soft. Do they even watch film of themselves after games? If i played that way (or coached) players that did - i would make sure that the next time i took the field - people would get hurt! But maybe they don't have that kind of heart. With the rain, and all that has happened this week with McMinn - is it possible to come out and beat the owls? I think so, how about you Calvin Smith???
  3. It is no secret - where i got this information. I simply know a lot of people in football (coaches, college folks, etc.) and I read a lot of sports periodicals (newpapers, internet, etc.). As far as NCAA rules - this part of the year - scouts/coaches may come to games, talk with coaches, etc. about players. The only thing they cannot do is approach players.
  4. You guys are hard on the owlman! Hey tribefan - I don't know about Fulmer. but I do know that 2 or 3 scouts from SEC teams are coming - to watch a couple of McMinn's players. They might also be viewing some of Ooltewah's players.
  5. SORRY GUYS BUT I MUST JOIN IN. . . . Steven McBride will shut down any receiver he goes up against. I don't know how the "speed" matchup will be elsewhere - but rest assured my little friend that no receiver will get behind McBride. Just ask the 7 D-1 schools courting him right now to play secondary.
  6. Well, I wasn't going to bring up the bowling ball incident because I did not believe it when I heard about it - and I knew that coachters would not believe it either (ImaOWL). Apparently, one of the suspended players (no names) was at the bowling alley in Athens last week (i guess with the P.E. class. And as crazy as it seems he assaulted another student with - yes you guessed it - a freakin bowling ball. The victim of this "strike" suffered a bruised knee. This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard! somebody needs to teach today's youth about proper bowling etiquette. Some advice for the boys of McMinn - keep your balls on the floor (when at the bowling alley that is).
  7. Hey Tribefan, Any news from the County this morning?
  8. Thank you tribefan - I agree. I was going to comment on it but I was afraid ImaOwl would take it personally - you know how he is. I am pretty much neutral here, but it seems that the Ooltewah fans are a little more cocky than the McMinn fans. let's all remember that these are high school kids! If I were a lineman for Ooltewah I would be upset about this BMI crap! So I am starting a new company. OLGP, Inc. (=Ooltewah Lineman Getting Pi**ed) And to all the other players on Ooltewah's team - I have seen you play and without you all doing what you did last week, the BMI goes bankrupt.
  9. No threats now! Besides there are 6 not playing. 1 injured, 1 ejected, and 4 suspended for part or all of the game. But it don't matta, I still feel like it will be a close game and McMinn still has a chance to seize victory!
  10. Hey Tribefan, I finally have some details - not much more but here it is: Robert Moore is suspended this game. 3 other players are also suspended - but because of a different incident. The information before about 4 or 5 of them getting in trouble was false. It seems that Robert Moore's incident was separate from 2 of the other guys. And the 4th player's punishment has to do with practice yesterday. I want to go on the record and say that I think McMinn will step it up and some of the 2nd spot players - just as good in some areas - will play ball. It will still be a good game. Maybe coaching will be the major factor. "He who adapts can overcome, and he who adjusts first, will win" Who will it be? Daugherty OR Gatewood?
  11. no sir, YOU have just been annoyed! Oh and tribefan if i was wrong about you i am sorry and i did not mean to speak for you. Just thought I'd pluck the owl before he got out of hand.
  12. Yes OWL you're right this is all fake. We have nothing better to do. By the way this Tribefan is probably a high school student or player - because you can tell he knows the players. I am twice the age of high schoolers. And we both heard a similar story. Therefore, we discuss it here. Then others join in. that's the way it works. So. . . . . . . SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I don't know anyomre about the situation yet. But I do know that if a school suspends a student from school (especially on a game day) that student is not allowed on campus or allowed to participate with the school off campus. According to a principal friend of mine this is not policy but law.
  14. Sorry tribefan - we must have posted at the same time!
  15. Hey tribefan, Find anything else out? I made a call and should here back any time now about the "troubled teens" of McMinn County. Let us know if you here before then
