  1. The Prospect Database within this website shows him as 5'9'' and 160lbs.
  2. Staying within the rules of the TSSAA, NCAA, and CoachT, what has anyone heard about any colleges that may be interested in Westview's amazing RB, Markei Guy?
  3. Westview should cruise to a win with their offense, especially Guy, but it is UC and strange things happen when those two meet. Westview in a close one, but only because of the rivalry, the talent goes 100% to WHS.
  4. I think Westview will go to the finals this year. But, if not, I will support any other West TN team as far as they can go into the playoffs. Reading this thread has been refreshing because of so many other comments from 7AA fans who have also said they will pull for the West representative in the playoffs. I think it speaks volumes about the respect we have for each other's programs and the pride we share in 7AA, the toughest region in the State. NO jealousy, just leave it all on the field and shake hands afterwards.
  5. The Tide's always tough and well coached. The first half will be close, but Westview's depth will prove too much--WHS by three touchdowns.
  6. Westview by at least two touchdowns, they have a lot of depth and play well in the fourth quarter. McKenzie is a very tough opponent, but WHS's running game will be the difference.
  7. First, I will admit that I'm not a UC fan, never have been, never will be---but I have always had great respect for their program which brought recognition and class to our region. In the past they have had Westview's number, call it intimidation if you want to be honest. But those days are over and gone, just like UT/ Alabama for example. I'm glad WHS won last night, but it's sad in a way to see how far UC's program has fallen. Even though Martin folks didn't like UC, we always pulled for them in the playoffs if we were eliminated, they represented West TN proudly. Sorry that era is history now, good luck in single A.
  8. My thanks to Occhsfanviachattanooga for his reply. Would be interested in any others.
  9. I haven't followed UC's program much since Barnes left. How has the new coach done? Barnes was known to stress disipline and execution and probably had the best defense year in and year out of any team on the region. All facets of his game were well coached. But what about the new guy--can he fill his shoes? The UC/Westview game has for years 30 or more been a rivalry that UC usually won, they got into Westview's head. Is the intimidation still there? Thanks for the info----I look forward to catching up.
  10. I agree with the decision to go for the win from the 1 1/2 yard line instead of kicking the pat--it took guts and the players should be proud of their coaching staff for being aggressive and having confidence in the bigs guys up front. The Bear would have been proud, win or lose.
  11. Westview, but they aren't gonna surprise any teams in the playoffs. The genie's out of the bottle and his name is Markei.
  12. If you're Westview, all you worry about is injuries in a game like this. I agree that it should be approached like a preseason-type game and get your stars off the field pretty early.
  13. Oh, Boo Hoo, poor DHS. The teams played hard, now let the coaches and TSSAA take care of any misbehavior. I'm sure it is hard to experience gross inferiority on the field to Martin for the past 30 years, win ONE last year, and then begin repeating the same old embarrassing pattern again. Stop playing the blame game and try to be good sports--and also try to be realistic about your future in this series, it will make the next few years easier to swallow.
  14. Martin-Westview beats Dresden. The world is round again.
  15. Both teams and coaching staffs are to be congratulated---900 yards and 74 points. That's a war! It's great as a fan to see this rivalry renewed. As I said here before, weird things happen when these two play. 2A ball is as tough as it gets under the lights on a Friday night.
