Just my opinion but White is not in the same league with Little, No way he plays division 1 too skinny/weak. Little is a much larger stronger player. But Courtney White is just one part of a really talented starting 5 at Ooltewah.

I was at the game and saw the talent the Owls have if they play like they did in the first half, or during stretches in the 2nd they can definatly win the district and possibly the region. No chance against a bigger stronger White Station team though.

Was at the game. Owls definatly have some talent this year. They were up by 20 at half. Came out 2nd half with whole 2nd string. ND pulled within 6 and starters came back in. ND was very agressive in 4th quarter, lots of steals, fast breaks, even a dunk. This is not the same ND team that played last year #'s 30 and 32 are athletes that could start at most schools. Ooltewah was kinda like the Football team just very fast and athletic. And for anyone getting ready to draw the comparison Soddy-daisy can't play with either one of these 2 teams this year. The Foster kid and Courtney White are really good. Game ended 64-61 with ND rebounding a missed FT with 8 seconds left and missing a 3 to tie it and never led in the game.

Must be the stupidest person I have ever heard. Just for info the old coach won the region and took the team within one game of State. So obviously it was horrible coaching and not lazy kids and redneck parents that didn't want their kids playing for a woman that caused the downturn in SD basketball. I'm sure most of the kids now on scholarship from SD would disagree with you about the coaching, except maybe Sexton who is a total headcase with a mother even worse. If not he would be playing div I instead of dIII at Lee.

Year she won was when Josh Sullivan, Reg Johnson, and Bobby Smith Played, Cody Walker was another good player with injury problems. All are playing college ball on scholarship now. think it was the 99-00 team that was the best but the were runner-up in district in 01. the 99-00 team beat Ooltewah by almost the same score that Ooltewah beat SD last year 90something to 40something

Coached 5 years Won 2 district championships and a runner-up back when she had players that weren't afraid to work. Also beat Brainerd first 5 times they played and Bradley at Bradley which wasn't too shabby. Had a 6'8 player hurt the year she won Think it was 2000 else they probably could have went all the way.

They NEVER have except for the couple of district championships that Coach Wood won at SD.

So in some alternate universe where Orr/Ricketts hook up for an 80+ yard bomb and Culbert breaks a 80+ yard run to beat Ooltewah by 4 pts does that mean that SD didn't play as good as Ooltewah since they scored on 2 big plays? The game I watched Caldwell averaged 4-5 yards a carry everytime he touched the ball. 15 carries 149 yards not bad about like he has done all year with breaking at least one big one. So if you think that the big plays Ooltewah made were flukes you are mistaken these kids have been doing this for 8 games now. And the Ooltewah defense is one of the best you will see with the BMI trio. Look for them to give OR all they want next week I am picking Oolteway 24 OR 14

Don't underestimate a very young Ooltewah team they know what it's like to lose, and really believe they can play with anyone in the state. I could very easily see them going 10-0 and possibly winning a close game in the playoffs. If anything they will know what they need to do over the offseason to get bigger/stronger/faster or whatever to match up with the teams from the west and with 17 returning starters I like their chances.

In REAL life both ricketts and atchlee are just a shade over 6'2, I am 6'1 and have met both and look them eye to eye.

Well ER had a 6-4 220lb WR and really talented QB. He caught ONE pass and was guarded by Ryan Williams who is all of about 5-4 and 120lbs he also led game with about 3 personal fouls and is one of the best I've seen as far as teqnique and just pure tough. He will handle one of the WR's just fine and BMI should be able to put plenty of pressure on Orr.

Well I wasn't at the game so I will take your explanation as plausible. And 99% of my posts are about Ooltewah because I graduated almost 20 years ago and my little brother was a well know FB player at SD as well however, now I have friends and connections in the Ooltewah community and know a little bit more about the kids playing for them on and off the field but also have quite a bit of insight into the SD program as well and I will say that Gary Orr and Doodle Bivens are great kids, as is Micah Kulbert.

Well this is coming from a SD graduate but I think that Ooltewah has a lot more high quality (read classy) Hard working football players as well as more talent on both sides of the ball than either OR or SD. A prime example of class is Gatewood calling off the dogs early in the 2nd quarter against bradley. Example of no class WR Chris Ricketts from Soddy-Daisy catching the final TD pass in the Heritage game then handing the ball to the Defensive back he just beat. LOW CLASS! Surely Weathers is not condoning this type of behavior. Not only would Gatewood not tolerate it but his players have too much class to do something like that. Nobody is talking about Ooltewah returning 17 starters next year either. thumb

Is the Ooltewah game going to be on tv tonight since it was moved to monday from friday?

Local schools are paired up with a "failing" school i.e. Soddy-Daisy is paired with Howard, Ooltewah is paired with Brainerd. This clause does not allow a student to just transfer to any school in the system if his school is not meeting standards it is defined which schools will be offered for each "failing" school. Look for the athletic programs at the 2 above mentioned schools to improve due to the new imports from brainerd and howard.

He would have had about 4 60+ yard TD runs but ER kept a safety back the entire game to contain him when he broke the secondary. Was one of the quickest backs as far as 1 step to full speed with ridiculous lateral cuts I have seen. Gerald Riggs included.
