  1. Okay show me where or other posts from teams Indy has played that says they are a dirty team.

Again taco I mean Jason you have ti start YET again with the childish and unwarranted verbal jabs...

    Now the game-

Much as I want Indy to win , I will go with CHS!

This will be a good measure stick for both teams as far as I'm concerned. I am still not sold on CHS due to its played opponents - For Indy wins over Page and LC dies not mean nothing.

One thing I can assure Dyson will be out coached.Rector knows that Indy can't pass the ball so....

    Good luck to both teams

Lets start with the ejection on the final play of the JV game last week against Brentwood with a serious bush league play by one of the "transfers"

  2. Has Centennial really played anyone??

Overton, Antioch, and Franklin are all average to below average teams. Indy is by far the best team they have played and will be tested for the first time. I'll take Indy by 7

Hillsboro at Franklin has the story line. To say there is nothing there is crazy. You know Clayton would love to beat the Rebels to prove they made a mistake in firing him. He maybe happy at Hillsboro but you got to think he has some bitterness toward the FHS administration. Hillsboro by 10.

Brentwood will get their back ups a lot if work in the Ravenwood game.

IndyEagle, I don't know how to break this to you but your team is just plain awful. They have a little bit of talent in the skill positions, a marginal line, little kicking game, and a pretty lousy coach. Also, you are playing a team with lots of talent and a real high school coach. Centennial by 14.

Franklin over Hillsboro by 2 touchdowns.

My Bruins stomp the Ravensissies on their way to a match up down the road with Centennial.

  3. Another round of games for this week..

    Franklin vs McGavock

    Cane Ridge vs Ravenwood

    East Nashville vs Hillsboro

    Hunters Lane vs Brentwood

    Indy vs Lincoln County

    Antioch vs Centennial

I'll go McGavock over Franklin 28-21

    Cane Ridge over Ravenwood 21-7

    Hillsboro over East Nash 28-7

    Brentwood over Hunters Lane 42-0

    Indy over Lincoln County 28-14

    Centennial over Antioch 35-14

    1. Franklin vs. McGavock - I am going to give Franklin the benefit of the doubt and say they beat McGavock by a touchdown

    2. Ravenwood vs. Cane Ridge - Ravenwood couldn't beat their red headed step children(said tounge in cheek only) must less Cane Ridge.

    3. Hillsboro vs. East Literature - I not convinced Hillsboro is that much better. Their 2 wins are against Ravenwood and Hillwood. Now thats a couple of powerhouses!

    4. Brentwood vs. Hunters Lane - The score will only be 42-0 because Coach Pemberton will play everyone and won't run it up.

    5. Indy vs. Lincoln County - After watching Indy play last week, I'm not sure they could score 28 points against Ravenwood but I do think they will win.

    6. Centennial vs. Antioch - Centennial in a butt kickin.

Everyone in the Bruin Nation saw this being a good team this year with or without Ron. By the way, they are also going to be good next year. So far, Centennial and Brentwood are the only 2 teams that look like they are contenders. Should be a good match up in a couple of weeks. Speed versus Brawn!

    Go Bruins. Everyone stay healthy!

  4. Ruminations from the Bruin Hydration Nation:

    1. Brentwood is the real deal and should go deep in 6A

    2. Forget the "prehistoric offense", good defense and a good kicking game can carry you far. It got Indy to the playoffs last year.

    3. Indy is dad blame awful. A few skill players with speed(qb for one) but no game plan.

    4. Quote from tv broadcast at halftime: "dyson knows offense". I think the only thing dyson knows are Miracles!

    5. The "prehistoric offense" is balanced and looks pretty dang good.

Great job bruins! On to hunters lane!

  5. Congrats to mt. Juliet on a well played game. Represent the mid state well down in Elvis land, great job Brentwood and a great season! Don't let your dissapointment overshadow your quarterfinal appearance, nobody thought you would be here other than you, congrats seniors for a great job, Go Bruins,

  7. Hard to beat any team twice in a season in any football league or playoffs. That is why this Z Plan or whatever you call it is such a bad playoff system.....way too many match-up of district foes early in the playoff rounds.

Brentwood the last two seasons is a perfect example of how bad this playoff system is. Last season they win the district and don't even get a home playoff game and go out in the first round. So, because of Brentwood , the playoffs are changed in mid -stream and this season they finish 3rd and get to play a common district foe in the first round and win in the first round and then play another common district foe in the second round and win again. Have we found anything out about Brentwood except they can beat their district foes the second time around. Brentwood seems to have the luck of the draw in this playoff system this season, but got screwed last season and that has yet to make any sense to Hogan. This playoff system is changed every year as we find all it faults. What will we change next season with only one more year left with this mess, we hope!!!!

Another good example is Blackman playing Riverdale in the 2nd round last night...just not right!!! And why is Blackman and Riverdale going East and Siegel, Smyrna and Oakland going West....aren't they in the same town, last time I checked they were.

Hogan says there must be a way where district foes cannot meet until quarterfinals....who cares about travel, travel is good and players enjoy it. Just ask Lenior City who just came to Columbia and Cool Springs from East Tennessee and won both games.

Congrats to the Brentwood players and their coaching staff they are advancing with the system we have in place now....but there has got to be a better way out there. :popcorneater:

    Well said hogan!

  8. what did it get me ???? the fact that you took the time to log onto coacht.com and check the franklin thread and still cry over last week...

so that is what one more game got me - oh and it got me one more game then your team did

Milo, I got your back on this one bro. He's just bitter cause they have a hard time winning the big game against Coach Crawford and the Bruins AGAIN!!!! I swear are the Bruins just lights out when it's money ball time? I do believe Ron and his staff may have done their best coaching job ever with this bunch. This group of seniors couldn't beat the Mother Teresa school for the blind "b" team when they were freshmen. There aren't many of them but kudos to Chudi, Truett, Austin, Michael, Pogue, Carson, Nick, and others! Quarterfinals! Who woulda thunk it! you guys are what hard work is all about.

  9. Saying a17 year old "deserves the lick he got on 4th down" is about whit I expect from the parents of kids who don't want to be called thugs.

You're play callers took the night off? That's so comical that I won't respond. Oh sorry, I have to.

I'll take the whiny classless bruins and their whiny classless coach, Ron Crawford, over any coach in the mid-state anyway. What a joke.

You won the game but definitely lose the idiot battle!

    I love da "whiny" bruins!

  10. Lets be honest. If you look at Gallatin's 2010 schedule and scores, one sticks out like a sore thumb. Gallatin 0 Brentwood 42. The game was pathetic. Brentwood looked like a pro team while Gallatin could do nothing right. The players did not look like they wanted to be there, and I know by halftime, I didn't want to be there. It was definitely a low point in the season not too mention that Brentwood, whom the coaches sang praises about, didn't even make it out of the first round of the playoffs. They were good but not that good. Gallatin basically just stunk up the place. But is this new? A lot of us have been saying there is a Williamson County jinx for years. Just look at the last 10 years. The last time Gallatin beat Brentwood was 01' in the playoffs 22-20 on a last second field goal. A game which supposedly we weren't supposed to win. That started what has become a series of Williamson Co wins. 02' Gallatin beats Centennial which was the Wave's last win over a Williamson Co team 24-14, The next game Franklin wins 21-14. 04' Ravenwood wins 17-14. 05' Brentwood 10-9. 06' Ravenwood beats a talent laden Green Wave squad 28-15, 07' Independence 42-7. 08' Centennial 20-6. 09' Brentwood 19-14 and then last year Brentwood 42-0. This has been a ridiculous streak which needs to end!!! Once again Brentwood is the homecoming opponent, which the Green Wave was for them last year. Whats it going to be Green Wave? Does this jinx still exist after Friday or is it time to for it to end?

Gallatin has a very good team this year. Good offense and a good defense. Lets do it Green Wave!! Time to beat those Bruins!!

    GWAVE,

I love my Bruins but this year's bunch is greener than goose poop. They only returned about 4 to 5 kids who played any significant amount of time. I realized last years bunch beat you guys like red headed step children but by the end of the year, we were on the bad end of the injury bug and were a shadow of the team we were when we play you guys.

This years team has some talent and they are improving but it looks like the Wave has it going. Here is to a good injury free contest.

  11. 28-7 Bulldogs!!!! Well kind of shaky to start. But it didnt take long for the Bulldogs to get it going. Brentwood 's first score was their last and the Bulldogs left 14 points on the field in the form of a fumble on the 1 yard line and a blocking in the back penalty on an interception that was returned for a touchdown. The Bulldogs dominated this game from about the mid way point of the first qtr. The Bulldog 's first play from scrimage was a pass play in the flat that went for 80yards. The Dawgs racked up multiple sacks, interceptions, and tackles for a loss. Defense got better as the game went on. Need to get better in the pass defense. O-line had trouble from time to time but always managed to get it done when it counted. We seemed to have the upper hand in the coaching department tonight as well. Speed was too much for the Bruins to handle. Our rookie quarterback was ligths out. he even ran some people over tonight to get some first downs. 1 touchdown pass with no interceptions. Dont know the rest of his stats. The best part is that we didnt play as many people both ways this game. Solid effort all the way around. Looks like every team in the county won after all.

Congrats to Smyrna - well played ball game on both sides of the ball. The better team won. My Bruins have got to keep working to get better. I do hope Coach Williams will get a handle on some of the on field behaviour. The referees called one personal foul for the "Look at me as I stand over you after I've made the tackle" and missed 2 more. This is not a slam against the Bulldogs but I just hate that stuff from ANY team INCLUDING the Bruins.

Good Luck Milo and the Dawgs the rest of the year. Enjoy your District :)

  12. As an interested but "retired" Bruin fan, I watched the game in Cookeville from my usual sideline position. We are young, young, young, young, and young. Cookeville is ....... well lets put it this way: "At this point in the season, they have a long way to go". I think our JV team could have beaten them.

Due to this, it is way too early to call the Bruins a sure winner over Smyrna. They have to make big improvement on offense as they are going to see a different level of team speed.

One thing to consider. Kicking game is really solid between Alt and England. They did a great job.

My money's on Coach Crawford and da Bruins but only by a prepubescent chest hair.

  13. Agree! But my question is why did we not show up in the first half? Why have we been struggling on offense when we have a QB like we have? The answer is young off. linemen and WR that DROP the ball!!!!!!!!

If,If,If, Had, Had, Had - Lets face the facts. Brentwood jamboreed Siegel the other night and my impression was that Siegel was nothing spectacular. They also moved the ball through the air pretty easily against the Bruins. Brentwood played a very weak Cookeville Team and looked o.k. but nothing spectacular. Sounds like Franklin has a really solid QB and a bunch of youngsters. I think it is going to be ugly in District 11 this year. And yes Coach Clayton does see the writing on the wall. He has said it publicly in the past.

P.S. - The Bruins have a probably very "perturbed" Smyrna next Friday. Might be ugly!

  14. Yeah, it was one of the most classless things I've ever seen on the wrestling mat. He took his headgear off and "buried" it at the center of the mat. Since then when I've seen him wrestle, which is few and far between since I didn't wrestle in the Chattanooga area, I didn't see any sort of celebration of that magnitude. Although when I wrestled him in 2008 at a tournament, he only minored me and he would not look at me or my coach when we shook hands. That is not as bad as what he did as an 8th grader, but it still showed poor sportsmanship.

Now I am not saying he's a bad person, I was not a teammate or classmate of his. But he is an amazing wrestler to pull what he has, 5 state titles. Granted those championships are in DII, but I have not looked to see if I think he would beat the DI wrestler at each weight.

Either way, he is an amazing wrestler who teams can only hope to find once in a generation.

If I had a dollar for every "classless" thing I had seen a 14 year old teenager do on or off the mat, I'd have a chain of Irish Pubs and BCB would be the general manager.
