  1. Did you miss my words "can make a good run in the playoffs"? The other difference besides size, speed, strength, and depth, is that they havent played as tough a schedule, especially Franklin. The Rutherford county schools have been playing each other all season long. Thats top competion all season. While Brentwood has had a strong schedule, its still not as strong as what those school have to play. Franklins schedule doesnt come close. So do I get a comeback on a breakdown of how good their schedule is? Please dont. There is no comparison. Its like comparing PAC-10 to the SEC and saying its a good because it has one good team in it.

Hey Taco - lay off the refried beans. There turning your brain into tamales. It is obvious that District 11-AAA is down this year and that Franklin has not played a decent team since their first game of the year with BGA, but Brentwood's schedule every year is a ballbuster!!!. 4 District 7 teams(Oakland, Smyrna, Blackman, and Shirley) and Gallatin? 11-AAA is just having a down year. They'll be back.

  2. We know we have to play the game, but the Rebels will be 8-1 when it is over. Looking forward to big crowd and a big Rebel win.

    IHS 0

I didn't realize that Indy had not scored on us in at least 8 quarters so I see the REBEL D making it 12.

Another exciting Franklin opponent. Atleast this one is in the the state, the mid state, and the district. Good luck to both teams. Indy - you're gonna need it.

  3. All I know is the Rebels are now 7-1 (we already know what I think about that one loss and I believe that it is now being shown with how that team is doing compared to us) and we are on a crash course for Brentwood. See you on Oct. 29!

By the way lbhiii : Did you come to our game since your Bruins did not play this week? If you didn't then let me let you in on a little secret. Mr. Sean Dye played some ball last Friday Night and I'm sure he will be ready come Bruin time.

Way to go Rebels. Do not listen to all this crap about a schedule. All I know is that we are 7-1 and that sure is better than 5-2 :thumb:

Nah - I stayed home and watched a real competition - Project Runway. :roflol: Glad Mr. Dye is back. I hate to see seniors hurt their senior year.

  4. Had to get something started on the boards with my Rebels. The Rebels have homecoming this Friday against Memphis Fairley. We are 6-1 with SIX straight wins since our one point loss during the first game. The running game is getting better each week and that will open the passing game back up. If the line keeps blocking we will make people pay. The defense is KNOCKING HEADS! I'd say Friday night will be a great homecoming.

    GO REBELS!

Why don't you make the game interesting and bring up the Franklin Cowboy AAA's to play the 1st half? I think the Grassland Generals would be too much for Fairley. Quality Opponent there Florida I mean Franklin.

  5. I'm so sick of everyone dogging Dyson on here. Seriously, shut up...if you think you can do it better get your butt down there and do it....He hardly gets any sleep anyways as a coach...plus doing AD duties...so many people just don't understand how much coaching takes....it is seriously their whole lives...so anyone dogging on any high school coach's play calling/choices or just them in general...just sit back for a second...and realize what your saying...some one who is coaching...so obviously they are there for some reason...and 9 times out of 10, you haven't played higher than a high school football team...that's coaches in general..now back to dyson: I just don't understand what everyone wanted, a 15-0 record for a first year coach that has um....VERY little to work with...just enough FOOTBALL players to complete a first string compared to depth at the brentwoods and franklins where it is a PRIVILAGE to get playing time...just give him time.... and yes everyone is in full support of him... how can you not be? HE'S A FIRST YEAR COACH, YOU HAVE TO START SOME TIME...AND YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A COUPLE MISTAKES....but bottom line...he gives everyone exactly what they need to become a great football player....but it takes passion and desire from the players at INDY as well...and quite frankly...there are less than 15, maybe even 10 that really have that in them...and its really hard to get a team fully behind YOU when they can't even fully believe in themselves and not REALLY WANT it...just give him a break! He and the team will improve......promise..

Depth at Brentwood? We're about as deep as Sarah Palin's brain waves. We have one feeder school at BMS and probably the most unathletic gene pool in the county(. Look at the size of our defense! Our talent pool isn't even in the same league as Franklin or Indy. The difference is the system. Kids at Brentwood buy into a system the day Coach Crawford invites every graduating 8th grader to play football. The system includes great coaching, great parent support, and a school that expects excellence in all of its sports teams and also in the classroom. It is not a privilege to get playing time - it comes from hard work. But it is a privilege to wear the Blue & Gold jersey.

Coach Dyson is a rookie coach and no one ever said great players always make great coaches. He is coaching in a part of the state with some great high school programs with very good head coaches(Crawford, Clayton,McDaniel,Shawdowens, Aydelot, McGugin, Potter, the list goes on & on). Hopefully he will progress and improve as a coach because it sounds like he is a good man.

And if he doesn't, we'll just keep beating the crapola out of you guys! :roflol:

  6. All I know is the Rebels are 5-1 and after tonight will be 6-1! Yes, the BGA game was a fluke. If the extra point is made then we are 6-0 right now. I am stroking nothing Mr. bleel.

Franklin will not lose to Ravenwood (no fluke)

Franklin will not lose to Brentwood (no fluke)

Where are all these "1-point" losses you speak of? I see a team full of character that is winning while not playing their best. I feel sorry for the first team that the Rebels play when we put it all together. It will get ugly on them quick. Who know? Might be tonight! REBELS 24 RAPTORS 7

    Dear fbforme:

I readily agree that Franklin should handle Ravenwood as they are not very good but before you start pontificating about Franklin not being a "fluke", I think I need to ask you a question. Do you know what a fluke is? A fluke's real name is a Trematoda which is a parasitic flatworm that has no anus(a scientific word) and has to egest(regurgitate for you Rebel fans who didn't take AP English) its waste through its mouth.

Now that this scientific lesson is out of the way, lets look at some scientific facts:

    1. Combined records of Franklin's first six opponents: 13-19. The only team that is at or above 500 is BGA which is at 4-2. Everybody else has a losing record.

    2. Records of your next 3 opponents(including Ravenwood) before you face Brentwood: 6-11

    3. How much did you have to pay Fairly to drive from Memphis for 2 straight years for homecoming? You guys are worse than SEC schools trying to schedule Vanderbilt.

    4. Combined records of Brentwood's first 6 opponents: 20-14 with 2 teams in the top 10 of the state.

    5. Records of Brentwood's next 3 opponents 9-9 with the Bruins having to go to Blackman who ain't no "fluke".

Now, your record is what it is and should be 8-1 going into the Brentwood game. You'll also get an extra week to scheme and I understand that you should have one of your running backs back, Mr. Dye, which is a good thing. I hate to see kids get hurt and he is fun to watch.

But, please don't talk like Franklin is the powerhouse of old until they actually play a schedule that shows it. Brentwood will be the first decent team you have played since we beat you guys last year(twice). Your schedule this year makes the one Arlington played last year look like a ballbuster and we know what happened to them. You come to Brentwood and win and you'll deserve to be district champions.

I have a lot of respect for the Franklin program, their kids, and their coaches. But you remind me of one of those flukes. You know a mouth full of ....... because it is on the only way you can get rid of it.

    GO BRUINS!!!!

    :flower:

  7. Just curious. What is the drive time to these games for Brentwood? Also, How many years have these teams been scheduled?

Good questions. Most are within 45 minutes. We have been playing Smyrna, Gallatin, Lavergne, & Blackman for years. Oakland will probably go away with this contract as I think Coach McDaniel and Coach Crawford are probably tired of playing each other and keeping the family peace. I would hope maybe we would play pick up Riverdale to replace them.

  8. Standings through week 5 (district record):

    T-1. Franklin (2-0) 5-1

    T-1. Brentwood (2-0) 4-2

    3. Hilsboro (1-1) 2-4

    4. Ravenwood (1-2)3-3

    5. Centennial (1-2) 2-4

    6. Independence (0-2)1-4

Franklin and Brentwood seem like the top two teams by far again this year. Brentwood has looked good (especially this week against Galatin), and their overall record is deceiving as they have lost to 2 of the top teams in the state and both games came down to the wire. Franklin's offense looks like it is starting to click to go along with their stout defense. Hilsboro is athletic but is not good enough to contend in the district just yet. Centennial looks much-improved this year. I haven't seen Ravenwood or Independence yet but from what I have heard Ravenwood has potential but is inconsistent, and Independence is just really down this year. It looks like the district is gonna come down to the week 10 matchup between Franklin and Brentwood again.

No surprise - Does Franklin play anyone decent between now and than?

  9. Gentlemen, agreed. Excellent points by several of you. I do believe that you're missing the "big picture" here. I've said it before, by Brighton playing some poor little single 'A' school, only solidifies the fact that the "best" football in this state in played in Middle TN. In particular, Rutherford Co., but let me remind you that there are also other schools in the mid-state that play pretty good football too. All that to say, I know of 2 District 8 teams that scheduled multiple Rutherford Co. teams. Lincoln Co.-Blackman, Riverdale, and Oakland. Tullahoma-Blackman, Siegel and I think Riverdale for a pre-season scrimmage, maybe??? It'll be a sad day if the TSSAA doesn't correct the obvious mistakes to get this thing back on track. Seems the reason I enjoy watching High School football is because it's football in it's most competitive form. I hope it stays that way.

Brentwood High School's Out of District Schedule:

    Lavergne - 6AAA, Region 7,

    Oakland - 6AAA, Region 7, Ranked in Top 5 - Undefeated

    Smyrna - 6AAA, Region 7, Ranked in Top 5 -1 Loss

    Blackman - 6AAA, Region 7, Don't know where they're ranked but good - 1 loss

Gallatin - 5 AAA, Ranked in Top 10 - Not as bad as we made them look

I think playing a 1A school is reprehensible and should not even be allowed but I think the current system causes it to happen. I wonder if there would be a way to require you to place atleast 3 or 4 of your non-district games against opponents in your classification or only 1 below or above.

  10. It must be coaching at Gallatin, because they have some of the biggest best looking offensive and defensive lineman i have ever seen in highschool and some really good looking linebackers, and skill positions. There is ALOT of talent on this team and there is NO reason anyone in the state should beat them 42-0! Not taking anything away from Brentwood at all, but 42-0 says it all!

I thought the line was just liked I remember them when we played you guys as freshmen. We walked into the Gallatin stadium and they scared the bejesus out of us. They were really large but we found out not terribly afleet at foot. Similar result back than. Add the fact that it seemed you guys had a ton of guys playing both ways and they got gassed also.

However, #8, Maurice Box, is a beast. Wonder where he will be playing on Saturday in a couple of years?
