  1. IMO< this will be the best game in the area this Friday night and I will be there to watch. Boone has a real chance to come out of this game with a victory. It really depends on if Coach Clark has found his old winning ways and decided to bring it out in 2009, when you don't have the talent you have had in previous years it all comes down to the coaching and running plays that put you in the best position to win the game. How is CS's knee?

  2. betsy is healthy now that we have our no1 linebacker cody anderson back.Go betsy

    Any tips on parking???

Barb get there early. The parking is awful here. The best thing to do is park on one of the streets near the stadium.

Arrive early and the church parking lot is a good spot. That is where I always try to park.

  3. This will be the best game in Northeast, Tn for this Friday night. I would love to make it to this game, if I am not able to make it to the game what radio station will carry the game if there is one?

wgrv in greeneville carries the coverage....they use to stream it from their web site but i'm not sure if they still do. i think this is the premeir match-up in NET this weekend. if greeneville is healthy, they are pretty darn hard to run on...and if if we have hall and church back, will really pressure betsy's qb...how's betsy's size up front?

Thanks Barb, as of now this is the game I plan on attending. Nothing like watching a high energy game like this one will have when these two teams meet.

  4. My favorite stadium for many years now has been Dobyns Bennett. You have to get there early to get a good seat, but it is the most exciting place to spend a Friday night! Hopefully the Indians get back to their winning ways so it is just as exciting this year as in years past.

  5. Roger's best at Elizabethton, I think 104 yards. We were getting slaughtered, the jayvee defense was in ,and that was when he got most of his yardage, and his touchdown. Against North he had I think 83 yards on 22 carries, mostly around the end. #29 , 1 carrie for 14 yards up the middle dragging 3 defenders. It's easy to blame someone, and the whole team seems to need work in some area or another. But when your QB is consistintly getting sacked or running for his life, your tail back can barely get his hands on the ball, then it throughs alot of focus on the O-Line. So as I said you can't base everything on stats in Tri Cities Sports, They won't tell you when 80 of the 104 yards are against the 3rd string defense!!!!!!!!!!! :roflolk:

Sounds to me like you are could be a parent of #29 and might be jealous that he isn't getting more carries, just what I read into when I see what you have to say. I see it all the time when a school has a good player, kids on the team support the player, while the parents bad mouth the kid. Thus why parents need to leave the message boards alone and let the kids handle everything themself.

I see volunteer has cherokee this week, even a 4th string back for Volunteer should rush for 100 yards or more against the Chiefs. They have one of the worst rushing defenses in Northeast, Tn

  6. Half of the Vistors Stands are now behind the End Zone, Scoreboard End of the Field. Home Side is 98% Season Ticket Holders, get there early for a "General Admission Seat" on the home side, it's about from the 3yd line to the Goal Line. You could get a seat on the 50 on the Home Side if you wait until the Band plays at Halftime, most of the Band Watchers and Garden Club goes home after they play, pathetic!!

Chris Sensabugh is going to have a field day Friday Night!!

Hey WaCo.... your girlfriend's been awfully quiet lately, what's up with that?

    Roll Tribe Roll

    Giddy Up!!

You really think Chris will have a great night? If I was Clark I would be careful with him against SC, he torched them the past two years and I am sure they will have revenge on their minds. Now since this isn't a coference game, I would play it safe, let him get less then 15 carries.

  7. 29's yards were in the second quarter after Rogers injury. After halftime coaching moved and subed players on the O-line which resulted in disaster. Arnold could not touch the ball before 4 D-linemen were on top of him. If you had seen the game you would know what I'm talking about. Stats in "Tri-cities sports" can't tell you that , only the progress made in the game.

:flower: Wait a minute isn't that the complaint by Volunteer fans every week that the offensive line can't block and defensive linemen are in the back field on every play? Although it seems like the Rogers kid can make something out of nothing from the stats he has put up. Once again just going from what I have read on this board and tricitiessports.

  8. I would like to add that #4 Jake Crow did an awesome job at filling Franklin's shoes. And #29 Arnold carried the ball well.

    :P

I guess you could say that if you consider 15 carries for 27 yards(stats from tricitiessports.com) as being well. I feel for volunteer it seems like another bad year. Sorry to hear two players got hurt, I hope they have a speedy recovery.

  9. I haven't seen DB play this year, so here is my question. Is Chris Sensabaugh playing Linebacker? If not, why not? You all have said he would rather hit someone, especially with his running style. I am sure you have some speedsters you can use at RB, and just let Chris play linebacker, maybe come in for 3rd and short or goal line running plays. Just a thought I was having, especially since you say the defense can't tackle.

  10. I think the game will more like the last one played in Death Valley. A hard fought, physical affair won by DB 7-6.

How about a friendly wager? When DB wins by atleast 44, you can meet me over @ Ihop and purchase my triple stack on the morning of Saturday Oct 3rd. :roflolk::thumb:

  11. This conference has three of the great Running Backs in the state.

Senior this year Keenan Shepard of Tennessee High.

Junior Chris Sensabaugh of Dobyns Bennett.

Sophomore Devin Rogers of Volunteer High School.

Look for all three of these young men to have big seasons.

From everything I have heard I think Senior Qb Luke Cradic of Volunteer High School could be one of the best Qb's in this conference.

Would love to hear who else you all think could be stand out players in the big 8 this season?

  12. After watching his highlights on rivals I am very impressed with Mr. Young. He is just as good on the defensive side of the ball as the offensive. He has god given ability at any position.

My question is what position would Mr. Young play at the college level, with him only being 5'7 170 pounds. I understand he is just a junior and he could still grow taller.
