  1. i love fishing. :roflolk:

that was/is as much of an excuse as it was/is a reason. clint manned up and made amends, funny how that's rarely if ever mentioned...

my favorite thing about carthage fans is their sharpened ability to recoginize and denounce a clown a county away and their innate inability to recognize or denounce a clown on their own side line. :roflol:  :roflol:  :roflol:

You talk a lot behind that computer screen. It might catch up with you one day.

  2. Ok, i was working in Jackson county today and went over to The Cookeville verse Upperman scrimmage. I know it was just a scrimmage but wow. Cookeville got whipped by Upperman. First 3 times UHS had the ball they scored twice and got to the 1 yard line. First 3 times CHS had the ball they lost more yards than they gained. The two big deffensive lineman and those two good linebackers smashed CHS's running backs. And UHS quaterback is awesome! Throwing and running. The running back for Upperman was good and receivers were not bad. But most impressed in both sides of Uppermans line. Very domniating. They had some kid that looked 300 pounds CHS coundt move and then those two other big lineman around 280 each stayed in the backfield. They looked bigger, stronger, and faster than CHS. I think the starters on starters was 4-1 Upperman. I was so suprised. Cookeville did score a couple late with b-teamers, but the starters got whipped on both sides of the ball. I may be wrong, but my Macon Tigers will struggle verse these guys. And on top of all that, 4 starters still played baseball and 2 starters held out of the game for Upperman accourding to thier parents. Very impressive.

    True Story.

Upperman will be pretty good this year. And they should be. They have 20+ seniors and half of them have been playing since they were frosh and soph. York could be the District MVP for Upperman. Upperman did win the scrimmage no doubt, but it was obvious that Cookeville was pretty basic in trying to learn from a new staff, a new system, new terminology, with a couple of weeks work in the books. On top of that, if your going to defend what Upperman does, you will have to prepare for that. And obviously you don't gameplan to win a scrimmage. On the reverse side of that, I was expecting a 6A school to look a lil better, especially in the trenches. Congrats to my good friend Coach Herron who could have a special season this year in Baxter as long as the key players stay healthy. I think it will be a very competitive district this year.

  3. I dont see how anyone wouldnt vote Coach Harris from Westmoreland the coach of the year. Westmoreland was picked last by many folks and wound up basically in a 3 way tie for first place. Great season Eagles. Hope to continue the success next season. Going to be hard to replace this group of seniors.

He's everywhere this year. Postal, you've been in hiding with those three 2-8 seasons. This year he's back building up everything red and white and slinging ish everywhere on the boards. CoachT hits and ratings go up when Westmoreland shows a pulse.

  4. First SC/LA game I've missed since the start of the streak, so obviously I didn't see the game. But anyone that didn't see LA having the capability (as they have in most years past) just isn't thinking clearly. Now the margin of the score is a bit surprising and from personal experience I would not want to be on that practice field next week. LA is a VERY talented team that ended a streak that shouldn't have lasted as long as it did quite honestly. They could do well the rest of the way if they continue to work and stay disciplined. SC on the other hand has not arrived yet from what I have seen and heard, but I feel they will if history proves me correct. And as one poster from the mountain has already alluded, the is no gimme games for SC at this point, now get back to work and play SC football.

  5. I deeply apologize for the things I have said here on coacht over the past few months. I let something that was said to me years ago about a part of my family control a part of my life. Instead of forgiving and forgeting, I allowed the problem to grow. I guess looking for a way to get even. That is not the Christian thing to do. I have not been a good example to my family and others and I am embarassed by my actions here on coacht. To those that I have offended, I ask your forgiveness and your prayers on my behalf.

Good post. Not many people would get on here (most of the time caught up in saying worse things) and apologize. Something should be said for that.

  6. I always said Carthage was a wannabe private school. They recruit more than some, lol. I wonder what type of response this will get from hooterville! Slim, tell me you guys didnt sell out to the enemy?

No one is going to respond to this because everyone knows that the kids that stand out at Smith County are in fact from Smith County, every year. Why would SC recruit? They beat your team every year. No need to recruit. And on top of that, your a troll looking for attention. FAIL.

  7. I couldn't wait to get back on the T and watch fatshady splash around. Kharma is a beach! Even the king himself in the press box couldn't pull out a win against FCS. Or maybe it was that weak schedule not preparing your boys fatty. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, you and King.

  8. Like SC, Gordonsville has no control over their region schedule. However, I would say that SC and Westmoreland as non-region competition rates better than White Co and Warren Co. I wouldn't be L'ng my A off if I were you, Gordonsville playing TC and FC in their Region schedule every year prepares them quite well for the playoffs. And I wasn't taking shots at SC, just answering your questions.

    Oh no, Friendship Christian?

  9. ANSWERS

    1. To play better competition.

    2. See #1.

    3. Because SC went 10-0 in the regular season and lost in the first round of the playoffs.

    4. Yes

    5. a. If they had lost 2 games they would be 8-2.

    b. They haven't been 5-7 in several years.

    c. Yes it would have a little less juice.

    6. I don't recall reading about dropping Macon Co. but rather replacing teams like White Co. or Warren County on the schedule.

    7. Most of the "ABC" schools are within an hour-hour and a half radius. They probably wouldnt' bring much less of a crowd than White Co, Warren Co, or Upperman brings.

    8. If that's waht it takes to play the teams you need to play to get better, then yes.

One last thing. In my opinion the difference in the game last night was the PC defense in the second half. they physically dominated and intimidated the SC O-line. As the second half progressed they grew more confident and as a result the SC offense could not really get going. the interception in the end zone was a killer and the first fumble was just gas on the fire for the PC defense.

Then Gordonsville has a decision to make. They need to cancel Smith County and Westmoreland and go pick up Pearl Cohn and Christ Presbyterian so they can better prepare themselves for the playoffs with that cupcake district schedule of Pickett County, Watertown, Red Boiling Springs, Monterey, etc. LMAO, I wasn't expecting anyone from Gordonsville to start taking shots at Smith County for their scheduling.
