  1. Sure is quiet up on the ridge tonight. If you listen close, the only thing you can hear is the OWLS every now and then.

Crows will be scarce around MC tomorrow. ......Well, .at least them buns bought for "owl burgers and "owl meat" won't go to waste.:hungry:

Now what?? Can't hang your hat on a "we beat SC',..can't say "Maynord never beat Pemberton"....Well at least you still got "we play TC"...

  2. i think smith almost gave the game away in the second when they felt the need to keep throwing with a 21 point lead. especially when the receivers were having such a hard time with slippery footballs. if smith had ran all night, then yeah, it could have been worse. but, as with most sc football i've seen, they threw when it was pointless.

"would have been worse" is what you meant to say. SC was running at will

  3. Macons D should fair allot better with Smith county's offense. Everyone they have faced this year has had very fast offences that can score from anywhere on the field. With the exception of Sycamore. No disrespect to Sycamore, I think that's the best team I've ever seen them put on the field. Smith county's D is there strong point. But it won't be strong enough. Macon just has too many weapons. Allots been said about the QB and receiving core, but they have a mixture of running backs that can drive the ball pretty well. some with speed and some with power. I don't see the game being much different from last year. It's always a good one to watch in Macon or Smith county. Great country folk and fantasic atmosphere.

    Your thoughts after the fact?

  4. Macon has the athletes to score some points. Key will be the line. Last year Macon dominated the line on both sides of the ball. You can't compare records because there is no comparrison to TC and Goodpasture to Livingston and Decalb. Jo Byrns and Gordonsville are simular. Macon will least score as many as Dekalb did. I don't see Smith offense as high powered as TC or Goodpasture, so I say 31-28 Macon.

Didn't score as many as DeKalb. I would hate to know how bad it was if those two teams had that much better offenses.

  5. The snap problem has to get fixed. Gage has to make a great play 50% of the time just to get into the play. Cost us a score + one the other way right before the half. Should have been at least 31-6 SC at intermission. Game wasn't 38-21 close. How about Manning!!!! Jalen, that is. 22 carries for 232 and 2!! Left a trail of tigers on several carries. I didn't really ever see a threat from MC. I agree with swanson. It's gonna be hard for MC to beat DeKalb and White House. .500 ball is the ceiling for the Macon County Tigers. Bet the fence row coaches are beginning to rear their heads again on the ridge and expectations were so high. 6-0 Big Owls!!! Keep rolling along.

I was looking for you tonight. Have you quit coming down afterward?

  6. If the field is wet which team gains the most advantage ? :popcorneater:

    GO OWLS

In year's past I would think because SC threw ball a lot more that it would for sure be SC, but not so sure this year who it would affect more.

I guess whichever team resorts back to the fundamentals that they have been taught will be less affected.

  7. I've always been a Maynord fan since way back in the day when we were teammates in football..basketball..and baseball. Just so happens he coaches at SC. Also know Mark too we all three were teammates at Tech. We also played with one of the best guys and players from LaFayette...Mark Schrum.

Rocking Chair, what's your plans for Friday night?

  8. From his posts he seems to be a MCHS TIGER FAN.

Yeah, but he seems to be confused :roflol:

While he portrays himself as a Tiger fan in this thread, I am seeing him make these posts on the Upperman/Livingston thread...

Like i said before, still a little too young. 8 sophomores on each side of the ball is a lil to young to get it done tonight. Still better than 1-9 of last year and on the right path. QB York and DE Sauceman are players Upperman needs to build around.

You were dead on, my hats off to you. You line outplayed us by a mile.

With him joining the T a mere 5 days ago, it seems he is a tad bit confused or he is trying to not show is hand. :roflol:

Are you a Bee or Tiger lookinggood?

  9. Good luck to one of my best friends who I graduated with who is coaching the Bees this year. You have done better than a lot of people thought you would including me.

Having said that, LA is a very good team and will be hard for the Bees to handle. I predict a Livingston Academy victory and very well could win going away.

    Good luck to both teams.

  10. That will be a task but the taller task will be what do when they get there! lol. He sees the field better than a year ago and when everyone is covered, he is elusive as a runner. I like LA'a chances. Gonna be a good one!

    GO BIG BLUE!!

Yeah, I would say a lot of people from LA like their chances by seeing what they saw in Tiger Town last Friday night.

As much as LA may be anticipated to win the game, well, that's why they play the game.
