Your the man LA Wildcat. So tell me. What are your comments about the game? We didn't have much time to talk Friday night. I think you were a little upset and that is understandable. That place definitely looked better than the years when we both played SC. We beat them too! hahaha What do you think the key to game was!

Smith Co. never turned it over within 4 or 5 yrds of the goal line tho did they..........if LA would have scored then Smith would have lost!!!!!!!!!! BUT they didn't so LA lost!!!!!!! messed up ain't it?
chillin if you play, then maybe you should practice holding on to that pigskin! You know that is a vital part of a football game. That just goes to show you how ready you were to play football. Besides you fumbled just inside the 35! Smith
through an interception at their 40. What is the difference? The difference is once again you need to go back to the practice field. While you all are there, see if you can find your heart.

Let's go easy now... I graduated from LA and I am a Wildcat fan through and through... But I will tip my hat off to Smith County they played a great game, as both teams did.. Just LA had a few mistakes when they didn't need it... Plus I also thought that it was just a little funny to see LA only throw the ball 3 times, one of which he spiked.... Cates is a much better QB than that in my opinion. And this is my honest opinion i don't mean to make anyone from LA mad but i think it would've been a different story if Cates would've thrown the ball, instead of LA tryin to run the ball as much. Don't get me wrong, we have some great players.. But Smith County proved tonight that they could stop the run.. We should've went the air more.. I know i'm goin to ruffle some feathers w/ that one.. But oh well.. Just opinion...I have never really seen SC play or ne thing but from what I heard tonight, Wilmore is one tough cookie... he played an awesome game and so did Dyer.. I want to say good game to SC and good luck in the rest of the season.. Maybe we'll see ya on down the road......Now I only listened to the game, wish i could've been there....But it sounded as if both teams played their hearts out... Just LA came up short..
And to my LA WILDCATS: Guys keep your heads up... This is only one... Look forward to Next week.. Hopefully we;ll see em again... You have nothing to be ashamed of or nething.. You boys played w/ all the heart you had.. Just some bad mistakes hurt and hurt bad......

You say you played for LA, well then be glad you didn't go to the game. You would have been very dissappointed. Yeah, they had three turnovers, (same as SC) but in the 4th they had a good chance to win, actually a great chance to win, but they folded and I never thought I would see that. They simply don't have enough heart!! Makes me sick! No heart and out of shape!

Yes I know how La is supposed to be region champs and beat us. I do know good teams when I see them or read or hear about them. If you know me then you should know that I enjoy to trash talk, and I do know that LA should be almost unstoppable I know that, but until they beat us then they still have something to prove to me. The one time I did cheer for LA was my senior year because I wanted them to beat Grundy Co but they did not cause I knew if they won they would have a better shot at beating TC than GC. If you pull for LA how do you know me and how do i know you. Who are our similar sources?
I did not say that I pull for LA and LA only! You never heard me say that. I agree, LA has to prove that they are worthy, but what I said, they are supposed to be able to prove it. They are as good or better at most positions, with lots of experience. You are JH, and I can not tell you anymore for reasons of my own! I will see you at the game Friday Night if you are there and I will reveal myself then. Let me just say that I am not from Carthage, nor have I ever lived there, but I know as much about SC football as you do the last 5 or so years. I saw you at the White House/SC scrimmage this fall. If you know who I am, don't reveal my identity on here.

I really don't see the talent or experience advantage that LA has. Our Seniors have already been a part of 39 games. Several of them have started since they were Sophomores. One has started every game of his high school career, including his Freshman year, and is about to break that record at our school. As far as talent goes, yes, you all have some, especially at the QB position. But I don't see a Wilmore over there. Your backs are good but they aren't 2000 yard candidates. And I understand that one doesn't get the bulk of the carries in your offense as Wilmore does but I don't know if one of them could handle that load in this region that is a very physical region. Number 10 is a good WR but I, personally, don't believe he's as good as Bass or N. Wilmore. I don't believe your LB core, as a whole, is as good. But, hey, I'm biased too so, take it however you want to. Just my opinion. I understand if no one from LA agrees. Not trying to ruffle feathers. Have any of your LBs ever had 100 tackles in a season? Have any of your backs ever rushed for even 1000 yards? Just curious.
Smith County does have lots of experience and talent, but LA PROBABLY has a little more. Yes, I know that Silcox has started every game of his career! You see, you do not realize that I really follow SC. They do have backs that are as good as Wilmore, but they do not carry the load as he does. Not a big advantage as far as receivers for either team. As far as linebackers are concerned they could be better. Losing Hix in SC LB core is huge. Each team has valid points! But if you look at the teams from the outside view, there are some advantages! The test for both teams will be who controls the line of scrimmage. And I don't really know who is better in that position. I guess we will see tomorrow night.

There is something I don't understand! I know who you are, if you follow SC football it is not hard with your username being what it is to figure it out. You of all people on these message boards from SC should know first hand how LA is supposed to win the game Friday Night. You and I have a similar source. Everybody else on here might not know any better, but you should. You know me and I know you. So the thing is, you either enjoy talking trash, (as so did I when I was playing ball), or you really just don't know how good LA should be. I am impartial, kinda. I want both teams to win for different reasons. I would like to see one particular team win, but I will not say who, because I am sure there are readers that know who I am, so it is best for me to make general obvious statements.

I'm gonna predict that SC has more "total" rushing yards and more passing yards. I also will predict that our line is stronger and better from TE to Tackle. I also can state a fact that no option team has had any success against us at all during the Maynord era. Ask Grundy County what happened in '01. All this just leads me to believe that La may be in for another long night early in the season. I mean you beat Portland last year and thought you earned a playoff spot. I'll asdmit you were better than some teams in it but you lost to SC, TC, and MC. You have to win at least one of those to make it. I know you are on a big win streak but, hey, "Gordonsville", could beat UHS, DC, CC, WC, JC. So, what is it that makes you people think you are all of a sudden world beaters? I don't get it. Could somebody enlighten me, please.
Again, BigOwlFan. I am impartial! And I understand what you are saying about LA thinking they are now all of a sudden world beaters! But the truth is, they have the talent and capability of being that team, they have just not done a very good job of proving it. They really are the best team in the region as far as talent and experience goes, but that is not what wins the games. So, if they do not come out and prove it, then the point I made is not valid. Just because they are suppose to win region does not, of course, mean they will. What I am saying in short, If LA comes out Friday night and plays ball up to their capability, then they SHOULD beat SC. I just hope to see a good game!

Hey sleepy head! I feel like you might be eating your words! It may be you on Saturday that has your foot in your mouth. If you are a football player on the SC team, you MAY find out sooner than Saturday when LA is whipping that but on the field. SC MIGHT pull it out, but I will bet $500 to a donut that it will be nowhere near the same as it was last year. LA is supposed to win, now whether they do or not is a different story. I have feelings on both ends, I just hope we all see a great football game!

Everyone is doing a lot of comparing to last years game between LA and Smith, I say forget last year. There are new starters and new players, Let this friday decide what is going to happen stop looking at last year and lets look at this year. Colson and Vaughn are a dangerous backfield both can break for good runs, as well as Wilmore and Dyer. Seems we have mirrored players on that side of the field, so why dont we stop talking about players and start talking about teams, because the team that wants it most will win, not the player. But as far as LA getting shut out again this year, I doubt it. I think it will be a average scoring game for both teams. It is just going to be who does the best on both sides of the ball not one or the other. Whoever is prepared the best all-around will take this one by 7...14 at the most
I have mixed emotions about this game! I hope both teams win! The fact is, wildcatfan_sm you have made more sense than anyone on this topic, not saying that you guys that are trash talking on both sides is not normal and expected. The truth is to all SC fans, you better get to realizing that SC is not as good as they were last year. They have some holes to fill on defense! They will still be a descent football team because Maynord will get the most out of them! LA fans, You all have a great football team! You all should win this, as you should have last year! Both teams have good players and coaches, but LA should win, regardless of where it is played. But if LA, plays like they did last year, SC is capable of winning this game. I just hope both teams play well so I can see a good game friday night in carthage.

I went to both games last year and of course was upset off of the outcome. It is still hard to swallow a 50 yard field goal! I hope Smith County comes out and plays up to their potential and I will be glad to bring Goolsby back down to earth. His head was as big as a basketball after last years outcome. Go owls!
