  1. Ooltewah could have put 60 to 80 points on each team they have faced this year but pull their starters after halftime and use low percentage plays because you never know it may and come back and bight you in the butt. Beware Riverdale because Ooltewah will be in your way and expect the same for next year because their all JR's and now a new power is born.
  2. This game will be one of the biggest games in Chattanooga recent history both teams have a great solid offenses that can score at will, both have a great strong stubborn defenses that demoralizes others. This game will come down to who has the least mistakes and who wants it more. For Soddy Daisy the key is shutting down the rush. For Ooltewah the key is pressure and penetration of the offensive line and not to give up the long ball. I noticed that against McMinn County Soddy Daisy worked on their running game a lot more than in previous games this tells me two things. 1. Weathers know he will have to establish the run on Ooltewah’s fast Defense to subdue the Ooltewah linebackers to give his quarterback some time to make the play. (This sets up the play action) 2. Weathers did not want Ooltewah to know the type of routs he runs along with the personnel that will run them. (Ooltewah will face a different formation this week and or play selections) The BIG Key is to set the tone early both teams know this is a big game. Players must keep their composure because tempers will flare in this one. Both teams need to hold down penalties because there has always been so many of them when these two teams meet that is an historical fact. Do not turn the ball over. Soddy Daisy knows how to win but do they know how it feels to lose? Ooltewah knows how to win and how that got here hard work and determination and a family relationship between each player and coach. Ooltewah knows all about a loss and how bad it feels when you give it your all and that it was not enough and they know how good it feels when they excel to the next level. Ooltewah has character and I and all who support you respect what you have done and always will. You’re a part of a huge family and your teammates and the rest of the family will always be by your side. If you believe all your dreams may and will come true. Win this one for all of those who gave it their all and came up short. Go Owls and may the Journey continue.
  3. you are just mad that Soddy daisy does not have the best couch’s in Tennessee maybe for a second hand store but you guys need to check out the couch’s that Ooltewah has once at the Nest on Friday night there really sharp if you get a chance sit on one and you may change your mind disregard the Red wine stain we are still trying to get it out with Oxigon.
  4. most of the team last year were so. and it also good sometimes to lose because you respect and love to win after knowing an heartbreak of a loss. This builds Character for the players not just for the game but for life itself. Gatewood has turned this program around and how many Region Championships does Soddy have in Region 2 5A?
  5. The Journey General Gatewood and his hungry owls are looking for their next prey. In week Zero, they marched into Red Bank on a dark foggy night looking for the once mighty lions and found only a few cubs in their den, which was not enough for the Old James County Legion. Week One some hyped up East Ridge pioneers decided to march their air wagons into the Nest to lay their claim after their thumping of the Bears in their first test. However, they found out quickly that the Owls Nest was not as peaceful as they thought when disturbed and ran home crying to their mommas. Week Two a band of McMinn County Cherokee warriors tried to sneak into the Nest only to find the Owls ready and looking for a good fight, the only problem they thought they were warriors and found that they were only big talking pups which angered Gatewoods Owls and sent them back on I-75 trail to Athens with their tails between their legs. Week Three Gatewood and his troops from Ooltewah raged war on their Purple boarder rivals and found that the PUDS from Chattanooga Central ready to knock off the 6th ranked team in the state. The Puds did everything that they could to stop one of the fiercest Owls in Gatewood’s arsenal only to find out these birds can air it out just as good as knocking their foes in the nose. The PUDS picked their poison and paid the ultimate price. Week Four the Governors from William Blount heard there were some rowdy Owls in Ooltewah so they sent a few Marshall’s to take care of the situation but would be held up by a storm named Ivan that had flooded their path. They should have just stayed put because once they arrived in Ooltewah they found that the Owls were rowdy, and fiercer than the storm Ivan during the battle the Owls captured one of the Governors leaders so they brought him to their Commander, General Gatewood which he then offered a truce halfway through the battle but they did not except the terms and conditions so he then ordered his troops to destroy them and so they did. After the conflict, the Owls posted signs on all their boarders and this is what it reads. (Don’t mess with the NEST) with exception of the border between PUDLAND and Ooltewah, it is written in Red and has a picture so our Purple PUD rivals can understand it. Week Five was an off week for the rumbling rolling Red Birds from Ooltewah preparing for a Big Bear hunt in Bradley County. First half stats. Record: 5-0 (2-0) Rank: 6th in 5A according to AP Poll Ooltewahfootball.com Week Six it was hunting season for the Owls from Ooltewah heading north to Bradley County looking for some Bear meat and skins for the winter. The Bears started running around like chickens with their heads cut off once they noticed a Big Red Bull’s-eye on their backs. Owls yelled out and told the Bears not to run because they would only die tired. Gatewood ordered the command to fire and unleashed the Ooltewah silver bullets (AKA Silver helmets) dropping every Bear in sight 41 to be exact. The hunt was quick and painless for the Bears, but it could have been a total massacre if General Gatewood had not called the dogs off with six min. left in the first half of play. Gen. Gatewood told his troops to stand down because they had enough Bradley Bear skins and meat to last them for their upcoming journey to the Mountains to battle against the Fort Heritage Mountaineers. Week 7 The Rolling Red Birds of Ooltewah and their fearless leaders made it over the mountains and through the woods to Heritages House they go. The mighty warriors of Ooltewah once inside the Heritage House quickly let it be known that they were still hungry the Mountaineers scrambled and whipped up some flapjacks, hash browns smothered covered and chunked and some good ole Smokey mountain bacon and then placed before them. The Owls ate their offering of truce but then a Clan of moon shiners barged in the door thinking since they whipped a few Trojans but not all of them last week they could do the same on this night. The Heritage Mountaineer Moon Shiners looked like deer’s in head lights when General Gatewood’s boys stood up from their tables and asked to take the matter outside and that’s when it all got ugly showing the Mountain boys why the Owls were ranked third in the state of Tennessee and that The Ooltewah Owls are not Mountain Boys but White Oak Mountain Men. After the skirmish General Gatewood and his veteran group of feisty Owls marched at a double quick down south on 75 to the Nest to prepare for some Soddy Daisy Troy Trojans that he heard were building a gift for them but Gatewood knows their Commander and Chief all to well to fall for such tricks.

  8. where would you guys want me to post the journey?
  9. M.H. what were the stats tonight?
  10. every year there is a power but can change week to week during the course of the year I do believe McCallie can beat Boyd and have creditable chance with Soddy Daisy and Ooltewah but I am going on respect for those programs and what they have achieved thus far. Good luck McCallie things may change in the weeks to come. So lets sit back and enjoy the ride.
  11. Brainerd, Ooltewah, or Chattanooga Central?
  12. play smart stay focused and play the game the way you know how. Go Owls!
  13. 1. Ooltewah and Soddy Daisy 2. LFO 3. Boyd 4. McCallie 5. Red Bank 6. Cleveland 7. Baylor 8. Tyner 9. Rhea Co. 10. East Ridge 11. Hixson 12. Polk Co. 13. Walker Valley 14. Temple 15. Grundy Co. 16. Marion Co. 17. Sequatchie Co. 18. Notre Dame 19. McMinn Co. 20. Chattanooga Central
  14. When McCallie won the state title when did they get respect after the fact which is not right. Paper is paper but heart can not be measured it comes down to who wants it more. I believe that if you want to know a team you have to spend time with them and get in their heads and then and only then you will know their true feelings. Ooltewah has been fighting tooth and nail trying to earn their respect and not after the fact. Yes I am partial to Ooltewah because I know them and I would go to battle any day with these young men because they leave it all on the field. To get a proper assessment I would have to know the players from McCallie and this case I do not. So the only thing I can go bye is what I do know and that is a victory for our Ooltewah Owls program. Go Owls!
  15. Region 2 5A has 8 teams in their district that shows that the Owls may pick up three games each year. So why should Ooltewah not play Red Bank, East Ridge, and Central. We have been playing these teams for the past 20 or so years which are rival games each and ever year so why drop them now. I do remember Ooltewah and McCallie playing on a regular basis in middle school and Ooltewah would win 9 out of the ten of them. Now the question is if McCallie has the same athletes from their middle school program who would win? This would be a no brainier Ooltewah would but you have to put the recruiting formula in once they reach high school that’s why there is a split of public and private schools and why local administration and athletic departments refuse to play private schools because some of their key and skilled players are recruited to these schools and I be the first to admit it if you can get a scholarship for a great education and its not are you going to college vs. where are you going to college the parents will 9 times out of ten choose one of these schools. Just like in everything in the world it revolves around money which is a shame but the truth. It’s not what you know it’s who you know that’s life. Ooltewah is not the only school who suffers from the recruiting wars all of them do so do not just bash Ooltewah about the issue because if Ooltewah was the only reason that private schools have to play in a separate class then you have a case but that’s not the story the whole state change it and that’s the reality. If you were a public school coach and put your blood sweat and tears in a program with the salary they make is way far classier of a person to learn from. They would not only teach the game they build the character for the child for years to come. A team is a united family if they stick together nothing will separate them because they have shared their tears and victories together and teaches them that we can not always make it alone in this world we must be united to achieve a common goal. Once one of our family members leaves the chemistry changes and it leaves a bitter taste in their mouth. Private schools that recruit are the same as a home wrecker of any family in America there will always be animosity towards the other. Walk a mile in someone else shoes. Good luck to all this year and I hope Chattanooga teams bring home the gold.
  16. I think your right with that disrespect I think Boyd, Ooltewah, Soddy Daisy, McCallie, and Baylor should add this Temple team to their schedule next year so they can see what a real team can do when you disrespect others by running up the score and keeping starters in the whole game. Temple give these teams a call I am sure they will be glad to add you to their schedule. This is the Big Leagues play it or get out.
  17. what if and what if get over it kid and go read a book.
  18. there you go again with the what if. Face it McCallie has 2 Big L's you should be happy they are still in the top five.
  19. I can not get on Ooltewahfootball.com today do you know why?
  20. Ooltewah 2002 semi finals ending rank AP poll 3rd in Tennessee should get a vote.
  21. William Blount fans who do you think has been the best team you have played this year. I am asking because you guys have the hardest schedule in the state this year and just wanted to what you guys think?
