One of the coaches that knows you would like for me to continue the story of this year so here is the post again. General Gatewood and his hungry owls are looking for their next prey. In week one they marched into Red Bank looking for the once mighty lions and found only a few cubs in their den which wasn’t enough for the Old James County Legion. Week two some hyped up East Ridge pioneers decided to march their air wagons into the Nest to lay their claim after their thumping of the Bears in their first test. But they found out quickly that the Owls Nest wasn’t as peaceful as they thought when disturbed and ran home crying to their mommas. Week three a band of McMinn Cherokee warriors tried to sneak into the nest only to find the owls ready and looking for a good fight, the only problem they thought they were warriors and found that they were only big talking pups which angered Gatewoods Owls and sent them back on I-75 trail to Athens with their tails between their legs.

IMAOWL We called ourselves the 911 defense these guys this year remind me and others of ourselves but with better results of course but with the same physical excitement and love for the game. I know this because I helped coach the Sr & Jr in middle school and I knew Ooltewah had something special at that time. Great group of kids and I only wish that I had the time to continue coaching. Right now it looks like I’ll be coaching softball with two seven year old girls took second in the nationals this year. Good Luck with LBs there a great squad. And BMI & Company good luck this season along with our with our Great O. State Bound!

Chattanooga Central had a good season LAST year!!!! The only thing will be pounded purple will be he who touches the football for Central... That is correct so if McMinn is much bigger, stronger, faster and has the best athletes why do they run a Wing T? Change it and you may have my respecT.

This my Opinion if each of our high schools start using a different style of offences and utilize each of their star players we may have more division I prospects this also goes for our defenses because of the complexity each offence they will face each week, this is what college recruiters are looking for.

Can any of yo MacWomen trash talkers tell me why the wing t was developed?

Penetration kills the wing t offense and my prediction still stands. Get an offense that is original that is one of the problems with most of our high school programs. The only reason the wing t works is that too many coach’s use the wrong defense on it.

Ooltewah 35 McMinn 7

Ooltewah Football history is far better than what Macwomen County believe, yes you guys lead the series 16 - 2 but most of your wins came down to Ooltewah moving up from II A to III A back when there were only three divisions. Ooltewah was put in the toughest region in the state for example (Cleveland, Bradley County, Rhea County, McMinn County, Cumber lain Co., Soddy Daisy.) and non region games against (Red Bank, East Ridge, Central, Marion County, and Riverdale.) We also during most of those years had far less students that McMinn had and probably be considered as an AAA or AAAA school by today’s division structure. Ooltewah did not have the luxury of a whole county going to one school nor had jobs to offer daddies to play football for our teams. Today that is changing and write this down Ooltewah and Soddy Daisy will be the future POWER House in the southeast because your reality is that your future other than McMinn Central you to will have another high pop up and I am sorry to say your caliber of athletes will go down ask Cleveland and Bradley what Walker Valley has done to their program.
