  1. Thats a good start Threeball...A lot of good players in that group..One you might be leaving out is the Poole kid from Kingston....Im really excited to see this kid play this year.... ......And one other thing..."Its a Great Day to be On the Hardwood..." I hope your doing good KW..
  2. Whoever said that CBHS is looking past Briarcrest (like they do every year and still win) to MUS is crazy. That's the last game of the season. So let me get this straight, the Brothers are overlooking million-time State Championship winner MBA and a formidable opponent in McCallie. NO! But for the record, yes I believe CBHS will rip Briarcrest apart, just like we did every year when I was there. With the new stack defense, you could probably expect another near-shutout too.
  3. Houston shouldn't be too proud about pounding the Bartlett Panthers. Everyone pounds the Bartlett Panthers. Wait until after the games like Germantown to discuss being underrated.
  4. C'mon now guys. Let's not get cocky now. I'd love to laugh MBA off the field as much as the next guy, but they are gonna have a good football team year in and year out. They have athletes every year, and their coaching makes up for any lack of athleticism they may be faced with. MBA will come to play, and I'm sure MOST of the Brothers aren't too worried about that right now. It's week 4 and this is the week we are concerned with Germantown.
  5. 1) CBHS (can't argue that...play the best...beat the best) 2) Melrose (perennial powerhouse...has the speed and skill to upset anyone) 3) White Station 4) MUS (Another underrated Super 7 team) 5)Whitehaven (Skill positions stacked) 6) Germantown (Some weak opponents but still above Bolton...look at last year) 7) Bolton (Behind Germantown until they toughen their schedule...Brighton(3A)??) 8) Collierville (Proven themselves to be a solid football team) 9) ECS (Hung with MUS...enough said) 10) Houston (Yet to face G'town and Collierville...but should fare decently) 11) Briarcrest (A DIIAA team with DI talent...much like ECS) 12) East (Talented team..but still young)
  6. In reply to Itzme's comment on the polls: "You can have #1 if we can have the win." It's a great point, one which I have been trying to prove all along. The polls don't matter. BA can have the top spot because we got what actually matters in the end. It's just a little bit ridiculous that, considering CBHS did WIN the ballgame, they are not ranked above the BA Eagles. Once again, I am not saying I would trade a win for respect. CBHS has never been respected, and probably never will be. As long as the guys keep on winning, they will EARN the respect they DESERVE. TIDE ROLL!!
  7. I couldn't agree more with you guys. The numbers don't make sense, road win or not. The most important thing to remember is it's a poll-a biased opinion that has no real bearing on the outcome of a game or season. As the adage goes, football games are not won on paper. Some people find them amusing, but they are meant for the sole purposes of entertainment and friendly debate.
  8. These rankings are really important because the people who write them OBVIOUSLY know what they are talking about. Take IIAAA as an instance. Brentwood Academy sits atop the list at (2-1) after being defeated by the #2 team CBHS (3-0). If that doesn't tell you that rankings are meaningless, then I don't know what does.
  9. Having played for the CBHS team last year that was jam-packed with talent, I must disagree that last year's team wasn't much of a TEAM. Most of us bled and sweat together for four years, and the difficulty of our schedule ranked second to none. However, I am very glad to see this year's team stepping up and surpassing everyone's expectations. They are gutsy bunch, no doubt. I just hope they keep their heads out of the clouds and concentrate on one game at a time. Sure would be nice to see the alma mater bring that championship trophy home to Memphis. For the record, I will say that the Brothers should have no trouble with Germantown this week. It may be a little early for a prediction, but I'm gonna throw out a guess to the tune of CBHS 28 - Germantown 7. I'm pumped that I get to come home to see this one!!

    Memphis

Alright, it is nice to see some people from the Western portion of the state on here. I saw some good picks for tonights games. I would like to see my boys at CBHS pull out the win, but if they don't they will get some consolation in whooping Germantown next week. I'm sure there will be disagreement over this statement, but Germantown is very soft this year, and it will be a repeat of last year...maybe a little worse.
