  1. I heard that the Heartbreakers played with 7 girls all weekend and then for the championship game the picked up three girls? One of the parents from the Heartbreakers told someone they picked the girls up from Murfresboro High School. I don't know the facts it could just be a RUMOR. Does anyone know the facts?

This is INCORRECT. No new girls were added to the roster. Two girls play softball and were at softball tournaments and one girl was sick with a sinus infection. This team is composed of 11 girls, many of whom play two sports and have conflicts. They seldom have all their players there, even at practices. Just a bunch of girls that love to play basketball together.

  2. Franklin County High School in their new facility were great hosts to the 4AAA region tournament. Hats off to Franklin Co. High School for a great tournament, a great hospitality room, and the music lived up to its billing! Great job!

  3. I said exactly what I meant to say and I was absolutely correct. She played volleyball her senior year at MJ and was the team MVP. She moved here from Kansas during her sophomore year because her mother got a job with Cracker Barrell. I don't believe she played volleyball during her sophomore or junior years, but she did play as a senior. If I am wrong I don't mind being corrected, but in this case I am correct. :P

You are correct. I believe she may have played her Sophomore year and felt like she needed to concentrate on basketball her Junior year. Missed playing volleyball and went back and played her Senior year and was MVP. She is an awesome person, on and off the court.

Yes belive some1 with 15 posts im sure they know what there talking about

It does not matter how many post you have on here, the more post do not make you greater than anyone who has less. It's for information only inmy opionion. I have a son on the team. He told me this before they left for Florida. Ramsey was cleared before the Lavergne game, but chose not to play, saying his teammates could take care of the job, and that he was going to wait till he return from Christmas to play. Check the tennessean box scores. you shall see that Ramsey played. Then I shall seek an apology . If he does not play . then I shall give an apology for providing mis-infomation.

When does Siegel play. I looked on the schedule for today on the Tennessean and didn't see them scheduled. I know they are playing in Panama City, but what date and time?

  5. Boy have I butchered one of the players names. Kristen Seigenthaler is one of the most passionate players of basketball one might ever see. She eats, sleeps, and plays basketball and it runs in the family since her mother keeps score and her dad is a coach. How could she get away from it? How could they get away from her passion for the game? This past summer Kristen got a knee injury and it got in her way of participating until about 4 weeks ago. She , at times, went thru the frustration of not playing the way she wanted and the feelings of injuries like that of your mind thinking your body can do things that the body can't took aver for a while but really that could be expected. Then not only did she have to recover from the knee but recovery of hamstring surgery prolonged the time off the court. Players think they can get back on the floor many times too soon. Kristen is now at least 85% and she thinks 100%. She may be. She is to the point that she is helping the team. Sorry for the mis-spelling of the name and wish a good remainder of the season to Kristen.

Good post on Kristen, but her dad is not a coach. Could you be referring to her uncle who is a high school coach? She does love the game and hope she continues to do well.

  6. For anyone needing directions to the Tournament site, just take I-24 East toward Chattanooga. Exit on I-59 south(exit 167) and go 39 miles south to exit 222. Turn left on US 11 (Veterans Memorial Hwy) and proceed for 2 miles. Turn left on Gault Ave and then right on 45th St NE. Hope to see you there!

Didn't make it to the tournament, but do have the results from the first game. Siegel won against Gordon Lee High 61-33. Great win for the Lady Stars!

I hope we can get some support for the girls team but I will say for a fact it is impossible to go two games at the pace of a guys game ha. I came straight home and flopped on the bed last night after just the guys game...not in bball shape yet ha, but we will be trying to get something going because it does look bad when the girls game is over then we stand up, and the girls do deserve it.

We certainly don't want you to over-exert yourselves, just would like to hear a little noise.

  8. As an adult who has a child at Siegel, I often attend sporting events at the school. I have always been impressed with the large and loud student section known as the Siegel Nation. They have been a great 6th man at all the boys basketball games. I was happy to see them show up at the State Volleyball Tournament, as well.

While attending the Riverdale-Siegel game last night, I was disappointed at the total lack of support during the girl's game. Is there some unwritten code that the Siegel Nation only cheers for the boys? It was a key district game for the Girls team, Riverdale was undefeated and it was a back and forth affair where some noise from the crowd could have made a difference. I am not being critical, as you can cheer or not cheer, as you chose. Maybe vocal cords won't take the stress of 2 games. I am just curious.

Thanks for your post StarsPres. You took the words right out of my mouth. I do agree that you should have posted this on the boys boards. If they don't cheer at the game, why would you think they would look at the girs' boards? They do an awesome job for the boys. Even us old folk join in on some of their cheers.

  9. I will say this...We want them to win just as much as everyone however I recall a few times we stood up last year as soon as they got close and we stood up we started losing again. If they are not used to that support it can be an extra distraction...thats what it appeared to be last year. You mentioned the voice...I know my vocal chords can't hang for 2 games although I do understand where you come from completely. I believe overall its just a lack of interest in the style of game that girls basketball is. More methodical, execution oriented, just not as fun for the fans. We tried to get people to stand up alot earlier last night than they usually do because we realized how big it was to beat Riverdale. Hopefully we can slowly get people to be more vocal at girls games.

Girls' play is slower and more methodical. Unfortunately, girls cannot dunk the ball, cannot jump as high and do not have the speed the boys teams have. Does this make them not worthy of being cheered for? Do they not try just has hard? Riverdale's cheering section did not have any problem cheering for their girls team. Hope Siegel Nation can have the same enthusiasm next year for their boys team when they lose their seniors.

  10. Appreciate the score. Very evident that the people in warren county responsible for calling in the score and the box score for their girls team have not got their system worked out. Tennessean has none and doesn't look like they have had any this year so far and coacht, thank goodness, is depending on fans to give scores. Looking for some box scores with some analysis. Anyone got something out there?

I believe the breakdown, though unofficial, for Siegel was:

    Jones 17pts.

    Parrott 12 pts

    Spurlock 9 pts

    Faulkner 8 points

    Gerhart 6 points

    B. Frazier had a good game for Warren County with at least 13 points.

  11. I was at the Siegel game and they played as a team with a balanced inside outside attack. Their defense caused numerous turn overs and they substituted frequently throughout the entire game. Parrott lead the scoring with 12 and Spurlock had 9 or 10. Faulkner had a good game, as well. Warren County did not match up well with size or speed.

What about Jones? Someone said she had 17 pts.

  12. When there are as many PLAYERS on a team such as Siegel, many of which have spent extra time off season, it has taken a conducter and leader to sell the program and get the players to buy in to the program as well as the parents. Coach P/S has done a great job of of putting together the ingredients and insisting on the chemistry for a talented group of players, many of which may very well play after high school.  The season will speak for itself.  The players will determine its results.  The results of the success of a three year school in this sport belongs to Coach P/S. It is definitely a lot of fun watching someone who is very good at what she does.
