  1. OR comes out in a very close game, 26-20. The kicking game was a disappointment again for OR. We really need to get that sorted out. I thought that Soddy Daisy exploited their height advantage at wideout very well against our short secondary. At least two of their touchdowns were just jumpballs that Paul Bingham had no chance at defending against someone 6+ inches taller than him. But Spencer Gulmire had the perfect response with the kickoff return. The whole team played a great game, but it seemed like Gulmire especially turned in a man's performance. Credit to Scott McMahon and Lenard Blair, as well as Daniel Johnson for crucial drives in the second half. Credit also to Soddy Daisy, who brought quite a few fans with them. Their team gave OR a heck of a fight, and good luck to them in the playoffs.
  2. I think he was talking about the big man himself. And anyways, how could a watered down field give an advantage to any team? I agree with you ORhoneydoll. Both teams play on the same field.
  3. Of the three, I've only seen one play this year, and he and his wide receiver tore us up, so I'll go with Duran Ferguson.
  4. OR hasn't overlooked the teams it has blown out already this season...I don't see why they would now. OR 52 FHS 14
  5. In the four years that I have been at every OR game, home and away, I can say that the DB fans were the most energetic that I have ever seen anywhere. Whenever the team needed an extra element, the crowd was always on their feet making as much noise as possible. I only wish our crowd was that enthuiastic. Also, I'm in the band, and as we were leaving the field before the game started, the DB band playing the FSU song I thought put the entire atmosphere of the game on a knife edge. It was awesome. Also, every DB fan I talked to showed nothing but class, so nothing but respect to them for keeping the game a game. In the future, I hope that the OR O-Line can keep the pressure off of McMahon a little bit better, cause the constant pressure made our passing game more frantic as the game went along. Also, we can't give Ferguson the time that he had on Friday night. If he didn't see someone open downfield, which he usually did, he could just tuck it and run. Before we fumbled inside our 20 after the punt, this game was really close. The first half was about as exciting a game as I've seen in a while, and I can't wait for us to meet again. DB's got some awesome athletes, and their defense is a beast. Even though we lost, there was no shame in losing to a great team like DB, and hopefully this game will set a grand stage for Round 3 of the playoffs. Intermission
  6. D-B wins the award for loudest band. They also march really well, and for the amount of people that they have, that is amazing, but sound quality is not a positive characteristic of their band. And Macy's is a fantastic parade, but it's not a competition. BOA is a competition. Oh yeah, conspiracy theories don't exist. Intermission
  7. Yeah, Clinton's show is awesome. And you're right about people coming to see the band. I remember seeing you at field level on the first week at your stadium. Your show is great, especially the triangle at the beginning. Intermission
  8. You got one thing right. I'd hope the orchestra sounds better than the band. When the band's dynamics are loud, darn loud, and Helen Keller loud, you know they're lacking just a little bit of musicality. And BOA isn't some ragtag little marching contest, so I don't think money would be a real issue. But Macy's is an ok substitue, I guess. Intermission
  9. The Dobyns Bennet band is loud as heck, and overrated. You should be loud if you have the biggest band in the state, but who's going to BOA Grand Nationals? Not D-B. Clinton, Ooltewah, and Mt. Juliet are, but no Indians. Intermission
