  1. Peabody wins this one 28-24, Moore is a great player and i hope he does well tonight but Harper is the best ATHLETE of the two. Good luck to everyone let the games begin.

Harper may be the best "athlete" of the two but Moore is far and away the better "football player". I'll take the football player. Westview wins by 2+ tds. Go Chargers!!

  2. The Tide can contain and hang with the "VIEW" if they don't give up the big play.. Clearly Harper will be the best athlete on the field and how he goes will be the way the Tide RoLLS /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I just hope they don't mess the field up too much cause UTM has to play Murray on it on Saturday.. which begs the question '' WHY can't little Westview build a field out in the pasture when they put the new school up about a decade ago?? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

He wasnt the best athlete the first time these two teams played and I doubt he will be this time. If not for one run, he barely has over 100 yds of Total offenese. Harper is an excellent player but IMO he's facing the Reigon MVP in Harrison Moore Friday night.

As far as the stadium goes.....Westview has played at UTM for so long I think everyone (except Coach Coady) is afraid of change. I think you'll see WHS have it's own stadium very soon though

  3. i talked to him last week and he's been redshirted.hes gotten even bigger and shaved his head. im not positive but he should be starting in zebikowsky's(*sp) place next year. hopefully they'll try him out at some offensive or special teams stuff. they had some great recruiting classes they should be on the rise but who knows. i wish him the best of luck

They moved him to linebacker his second week on campus after "promising" him he would stay at safety. That was the whole reason he didnt come to UT.......at least they were honest with him. Golden Tate was good but he wasnt even top 5 imho. 1. Chris Donald 2. Alex Watkins 3. Chris Walker 4. Dennis Rogan 5. Harrison Smith

  4. I do know the stats. Harper had 145 yards rushing in that game. That is not exactly shutting someone down in my opinion. This game, along with the JCS at Milan game, will be the two premier games in 2A during the first round of the playoffs.

Considering what he's done to most everyone else, yeah Id say that was shutting him down. He had one score right? I think the final was 42-13?

  5. The difference last night was special teams play. The miscommunication on the fake punt that deep and Milan returning that interception really hurt. Plus missing those 2 Field Goals and the Extra Point. Outside of that Westview wins 31 to 24. It could have gone either way, but it went the way that it did and Westview just has to work on some things and play Trenton this week.

Milan has a tough enough road ahead of them. Congratulations.

Time for the play-offs girls and gals ... and it seems the TSSAA has thrown us all a curve ball. Let's show them that 8-2A is the one that hits the homeruns. Let's show them that 8-2A hits .501. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I disagree as well. Milan drove the ball on us all night and if not for big plays, we're not even in it. There have been two teams run on us at will this year, the two teams I mentioned in my previous post.

  6. No excuses here, we got out coached and out played. This is the first time Ive seen Milan this year and they looked very good. This is the 10th time Ive seen Westview, and let me say that this and the Camden game compare pretty equally. Westview, imho, was over-confident and thought they had this game won when they walked on the field. The Westview team I watched in the other 8 games would have dominated last night, unfortunately though, the team that played Camden showed up instead. Either way if each take care of business, they'll prob meet again. Good Luck the rest of the way 'Dawgs.

  7. About the 97 game,

what was told is that hampton changed jerseys to "trick" Milan and that is how he got open for the screen at the end of the game.

What happened to hampton didn't he get in some trouble and end up missing his senior year?

either way this is going to be a classic.

I look forward to a good injury free football game.

There have been some great posts I love the pride of the fans of each team.

    Go DAWGS

Hampton, along with 5 or 6 other players changed jerseys at halftime because they were absolutely soaking wet. I cant remember what the reason was but either it had rained all week or it was really humid that night or what.

Fot it being a trick, no it wasnt. If he changed at the half I doubt it would have taken them until .9 seconds to go in the game to figure out what number he was wearing. The only trick was him lining up at fullback and not halfback. We put in a screen to the fullback just for that week because Milan's linebackers had been blitzing and flying to the tailback on film. We figured theyd key on Nick and it would be a successful play. We ran it a few times early and gained good yardage.

Coach Coady new a hail marry wasnt going to cut it since we were on our own 35yd line. He took our newest play and put the ball in our best players hand.....and he delivered. There were a few great blocks also but it was all Nick.

    Go Chargers.

  8. #34 was Jamal Sanders, Victor wore #1 just like George did.

Yep Sanders is who I was thinking of. I knew Kidd wore #1. You guys were loaded that year but luckily we had the best player on any field when we left the locker room. Nick Hampton was the best football player Ive ever been around and I know 3 or 4 that are playing on Sundays now.

  9. I'll never forget the game in '97. You guys have the lead when Nick Hampton lines up a fullback and takes a screen pass 65 yards to paydirt as time expires. We had some great games back then. I believe that year you had Roberson (26) at runninback (I think he had a younger brother that was a WR). There was also another kid that played safety and tailback....his # was 34 but cant remember his name, someone educate me. Also your QB #10 was a heck of a player. I remember he got really sick and was in the hospital for some time. How's he now?

  10. If he hadn't missed the tackle on the sweep, he could have been 10-0. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

It's not his fault, Justin was standing in front of him and he had to walk between his legs to try and make the tackle /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  11. I do too because we all saw how the Camden game turned out with everyone picking against us.

Facts of the matter are, Morris has shown nothing thus far. If you think all Morris is going to do is run up the middle like he has the whole year, than you're sadly mistaken. I'm guessing Martin will see a whole arsenal of plays that has yet to be seen.

Let them think they will win though because Morris and Co. has showed they love the underdog role even though they are put in that role rarely!

J.W., Tristian, Bledsoe, Trevino, Coleman, and Mr. Gilbert will show Martin an explosive offense Friday Night!

This game could go either way, dont get me wrong........but if you think a coach would save a "whole arsenal" of plays until week 10 you dont know a whole lot about football. Now he may ADD a few wrinkles for a game of this magnitude, but I doubt you'll see them go from running a spread to a wing T

  12. milan is just as good or better than westview across the board in stats.milan has a stable of runningbacks unmatched

by any team in west tennessee. their qb has really gotten his confidence in throwing the ball. how each team has played against other teams in the region has no bearing whatsoever. westview should be favored because of homefield, but i'll take milan in this one because they are healthy, coleman is confident, their defense, their running game, their team speed and let's just face the #1 fact, they are MILAN, and that alone carries a pretty big stick in west tennessee football. westview has all my respect at reaching 9-0 but after friday night they will be 9-1 and settling for 2nd in the region. milan wins by 8 points.

You could have saved alot of typing and just said " I pick Milan because im a Milan fan". Because in the end, thats the reason you picked them, not because of team speed and their defense. Same with me, I picked Westview for the same reason. Although I do think Westview is the better team.

  13. Yea Chevy, unfortunately Im still in west TN. That vehicle had a V6 btw and the cherry bombs were on it when it was purchased!! /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Im guessing youre another WHS alum?

To the Choctaw that compared reigons....it's hard to count Huntingdon in your reigon when they're in 2a??

  14. Close, Good guess

    38 to 10 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Im pretty good at pick'em /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Plus I know Westview pretty well

  15. It was a great game....both teams left it all on the field. Camden def out played the Chargers last night but to blame it on the "missed holding call" is ridiculous. This group of referees were some of the worst Ive seen, and they missed alot of calls that would have helped Westview also.

The holding call isnt what beat Camden.....the missed extra point was.

  16. You guys in Camden are getting a great coach. As a former player for him I can gurantee you are getting a top notch person who will get t he job done and turn ya'lls program around. Good luck Coach Ward and stay in touch!
