  1. I like the name. Must have been a great Ideal.
  2. Just to start out. I know NOTHING about the incident that happened. But this is a free country, and this is this an open forum. If this is something that has gone on before, and it did not hurt anybody, then why did the punishment occur now. Well, who knows? The fact is that it was delt out, and Sweetwater needs to learn the concept of team. The classroom analogy was probably the worst one that I have ever read. Look a classroom is by no means a team. Regardless of right or wrong the coach says jump, you jump. If the other players did it, then why fuss about it? Buck up and do it. It is the SENIORS job to control what happens within the team. Regardless of who was there and who was not, there was an upper classman there somewhere, if not a Senior, then a Junior, if not a Junior then it was a sophmore. The point is that you are a family, Seniors, you are the big brothers, do you job and lead by example. I say quit whining, do your punishment, and stop trying to push it off as "ohh I wasn't there. It's not my problem." This is your team, if you have a problem with the punishment you take it up with the coach or the player who were involved. If you still have a problem, QUIT! I applaud the Coach at Sweetwater for making the players miss a game because they refused to do the punishment, you guys are just lucky you are still on the team. And I wouldn't blame any players who did do the punishment, if they shunned those who did not. As for injuries, if you can' tdo it then take it up with the trainer, if the coaches and trainers feel you can then quit nursing it and do it. They wouldn't jeopordize their "STAR" player would they? Anyhow quit cryin, be athletes, and most of all, be a team. P.S. I would love to know what actually happened. If it wasn't that severe then post it. No pun intended.
  3. Oops! I forgot to add something. You also forgot to mention the warm good-bye that the Gibbs community gave Loudon on it's hurried exit (this is because they were told to leave). As Loudon left plenty of Gibbs lovely towns-people decided that they would yell obscenities along with raise some delightful hand jestures toward the Loudon players and fans. Now we can see where the player who made the statement got it from. Shame on Gibbs Football and community. Oh, and that does not include the other send-off that Loudon recieved. The Loudon football bus recieved it's own special good-bye from an additional party. It is hear-say, that while the Loudon bu swas stopped, they recieved the same trearment as metioned above. However, I think it was recieved differently. But we'll leave that to the person who obtained the result of his barbaric actions to disclose. This post was made with as much sarcasm as possible. However the events did occur.
  4. Are you serious? No, really... is this guy joking? First off, NO! not all of Loudon's team left the sidelines, I don't care what you say on your supposed film has(which I would love to watch). And yes, I know at least one of the boys who did not leave the sidelines was ejected. Second of all, could this post be any more bias? Really, I am a Redskin fan and will be till the day I'm burried in my grave, but I cannot recall ever posting something as bias as this. You want to dismiss the fact that the boy called Loudon's player a N-word then you deal with that in your own way. And it is my understanding that it was happening all night. There is NO place in football for that kind of crap. Yeah, I'm sure it happens all the time, but that don't make it right. And God help the boy who made those kind of statements. If he has to resort to that kind of trash, then good for the player who threw the first punch. As for 14 or 15 players being on one boy, that is definately garbage. As much as he deserved to have his tail-end stomped, there wasn't a kid on the field (Loudon or Gibbs) that had 14 or 15 players on him. That is an absud statement that only demonstrates the biases that lie within this posting. Next, you let the TSSAA decide what will happen. Let them watch film to see what happened and they will decide what is fitting, not some bias... nevermind. Too big for name calling. Anyway, I don't know how many players left the Gibbs sidelines, but there were some. I personally would like to commend any Loudon player who left the sideline for his teamate. I also may have made comments about the coaching staff at Loudon a time or two, but BRAVO to the Coach who was thrown out. He protested a spurious call. Yeah about that... if you watched the film so many times, how come you did not mention the last boy to get thrown out. The Loudon player that was thrown out for TACKLING the QB. The ref. said he was trying to punch the Gibbs QB in the ribs. I do feel that it should not have come to fighting, but it did. And when a Redskins is difficult situation, it's good to know that he can count on his teamates (and his Coach). P.S. Good Luck to the Coaching staff at Loudon in their meeting with TSSAA officials.
  5. I agree with the thought of letting the guys play. If your down bad or up by alot, let them get some game time. That is probably one of the best ways for the players to get better. Not to mention, it is just right to let as many people play as possible when the game is secured. And there have been instances that a second or third team bunch have closed the gap in a ballgame close enough to where there has been a chance for the team to comeback. In addition to all of that, it can show the coaches alot about what their players have and what they need to work on. And finally, not only should they play the other players, it would be an excellent opportunity for the OC (offensive coordinator) to try and pass the ball some.
  6. For the most part it has always been that way. I've heard about people having jerseys ordered because they wanted a special number. And I have seen players dismissed because they were not favorites. But that has always been there. Some of the coaches worse than the others. Not to mention, have you watched Friday's ballgames. Coached talk to their favorites, and they play their favorites. I hate that it is that way, but there is not a whole lot us on the outside can do about it. Personally I hope that the coach reads these postings and appoligizes to this young man tomorrow. If he does not then shame on him. I keep reading posts about how good he coaches are to the players, which ones? Good Post PH
  7. Hey BROKEDOWN, I know you put A quote in response to my statement, but could you please tell me what was said on the night that Kngston won. That statement was made at the game when they anounced the previous state championship team. The statement that I was refering to was to the Kingston. That is why it was posted that night and I refered to the statement being made that night. The only thing worse then someone not being able to quote what was said is quoting a statement out of context. Please, if you want to use quotes, use the right ones. THANK YOU for you understanding. Fellow former Redskin (maybe not the same year, but Redskins are a family and a tradition that continues even after we're gone)
  8. Jason "Fluff" Scott Graduated in 1998. He did play for Loudon and he was a of an athlete, a great person, and a true Redskin. BROKEDOWN, let's do start at the Seniors. As for the comment that was made, like I said it was with good intent. But it still hurt some of the Seniors. And regardless that he added "but only because this years Seniors have paved the way for you," it still hit the wrong way. And if you ask me, I still don't believe that it sounds that much better. Why would you talk about next years team wheb the season isn't over? THat is something that should be said at the end of their last game. Yes, we all know that this years Seniors have been through alot. No one has discredited that. Too add, I never said that Coach Harig was not a good person. And I think that everyone was surprised that he didn't leave with Coach D. Harig is probably one of the best people I have had the priviledge of knowing. He is someone that a look up to and admire. And he has done alot for this football team. But most of the comments made about the coaching staff (with exclusion to the comment mentioned earlier) has been about coaching, not the coaches being there for the players (even though it plays an enormous part). And I hope that he and the rest of the coaching staff does NOT get fired, because they have been good to those kids. The fact is, he needs to get his coaching staff in line. Have you been to the games? I didn't want to talk about this past weeks game, but apparently it needs mentioning. "Toss sweep left & toss sweep right!" "Look for Hawkins!" That is all that Kingston's Defensive Coordinator had to say. That is the the problem that I have with the coaches. The players played their off. But, I wish that I could have the stats on the ball game. If anyone has those would you please post them. How many times Hawkins got the ball opposed to the rest off the team? How many times they ran toss sweep? Harig needs to get onto Roberts or let Coach Brown call the offense. Say "I'm wrong?" Here's an example, what happened when the split Hawkins out behind the other 3 receivers? I'll tell you, Kingston was all over it. Anyone who has been to a Redskin game knew what was going to happen. That is why the play was broken up and luckily not taken back for a Kingston TD. Hawkins played like a champ. He probably ran better in this game than he has all year, but what about the rest of the team? Give them a chance. If you center a team around one player you hurt the team. Take advantage of the talent that this team has. As for the players, way to play disciplined football. You guys kept your heads on straight. Defense, hit the guy with the ball. Don't dive at his legs or what happened Friday will continue to happen. If you see that a Redskin has someone wrapped up, go help him. Your teamates will understand if you hit them in the back on the way. It's ok, shoulder pads cover the back too.You guys are running up and putting your hands on your teamates backs and trying to push. When you go in "Bring the Wood!" Keep up the aggressive football. As for the offense, the O-Line is getting better. Hawkins good running, Henry good catch, and Dixon good running and if no one has said it yet, you did a of a job blocking. Great job busting your tails Redskins. Keep up the hard work. See you guys on Thursday. On a better note. I heard that Loudon may have a chance at the play-offs still. If they win their next 2 and if AC loses their next 2. Is that right? I'm hoping. But the Redskins need to look at the ballgame on Thursday. They don't need to be thinking about play-offs yet. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. I don't think these boys are ready to hang up their pads, and I'm not ready to spend my Fridays doing something other than watching the Redskins play football So Loudon, lets play football! Go Redskins!!!
  9. Do to my respect for the Loudon Redskins Senior Football Players, I refuse to critique tonights game-play. I will say that they played hard and they played disciplined football. Do to their alledgedly impending unemployment (rumors that the coaching staff will be fired) and my respect for the coaches, I will not disparage any judgements that were made tonight. I would however like to address an issue that I overheard, and I truly do hope that I heard it wrong. As both an athlete and a spectator I have seen many athletes leave the field with tears running from the beaten faces. I tell you there is nothing wrong with this. There is no shame in losing if all has been left on the field. Any team that loses a game and can say that they played with every ounce of their being, should walk off the field with their chins up and their heads held high. But tonight I seen some seniors leave the field with tears in their eyes for another reason. It is my understanding that comments were made about next years team being a good team. And I believe that this was not the first time it was mentioned (By all means, if there is any of this that is untrue I hope that it will brought to my attention). There is no excuse for a statement of this nature. It may have been made with good intent, but a statement like this disregards all feelings of the Seniors who will NOT be here next year. The season has NOT ended. There are 2 more games left to win. A team's heart starts with the coaching staff, if it's not there then God help the team. There is a group of guys out there who depend on the coaches' support and guidance. What are you telling the Senior class if you say that next year you guys will have a good team? What the H3LL is wrong with this years team? This may not have been the intent of this statement, but that is how some of your players heard it. "QUIT" is NOT in the Redskin vocabulary, I don't care if the team has had a 0-9 season and they are down by 21 in the 4th quarter with a minute on the clock, they don't stop! We'll support next years team next year, as for now, Go Redskins, we got 2 more games.
  10. The respect is mutual. I have read some of your postings, and you know your as well. There is no problem with a difference of opinion. Keep up the posting.
  11. Loudon is definately getting better. But they better keep their head on straight. I'm glad they got a win on Friday, needed it. But it was Scott County. I talked to a Scott County fan who said that Scott County wasn't that good. They also said that they were shocked that Loudon hadn't won any games. It's true that Loudon has fell short a few times and they are a better team than there record shows. But they do need to be prepared on Friday night for the next 3 weeks, if so then maybe Loudon will finally get back into the play-offs. On a better note. offense is definately improving. Better play calling, better job carrying out the plays, better job moving the football. They need to work on that line. Loudon may have a small line, but they are still Redskins. Loudon has had plenty of small linemen who could get the job done. They need to give the QBs more time to throw the ball. They got the recievers, give the QB time to get them the ball. This year is not a year to build next years team, it's a year to get Loudon back into to the play-offs and give those Seniors something to talk be proud of. Redskins, don't let your seniors down, they don't get a next year. They also got a few runningback I would like to see get the ball. Cambell is the Freshman by the way. Hawkins did a better job running the ball, but you have to change it up, to keep a defense on its toes. I would like to see loudon put three backs in the backfield a use them all (not all the time). Yes get the recievers the ball. And yes that Henry boy has got some hands, he hadn't dropped a ball thats touched his hands this year as far as I know, that includes jamboree (because he has only gotten one catchable ball touch his hands all year). But on the same note, he needs to keep running, even if he don't think he will get the ball. This offense needs their line to step up, open holes for runners and give the QB time. As for Defense, that's one Goose Egg, but you are going to need a tougher front if you plan to get more. You guys have the sweep, pitch, and pass covered. Still need to work on the run up the middle. Line & Linebackers, bow up and smash some heads. "Redskins are Smashmouth Football!" size or no size. Sorry this is so long, just some built up tension Get it done Redskins! P.S. I do not think that the A.C. game was almost perfect. If it was up to this teams potential of "almost perfect" then the 4th wouldn't have mattered. This was a game Loudon let get away. They just fell apart in the 4th.
  12. Are you kidding me!? Please... how many of you have lined up against the biggest and the best? You're a joke. I would like to see half the people who posted that girls shouldn't play line up against the "BIGGEST AND THE BEST." You know what I bet over half of the people who posted this would get ran over. Apparently you aren't the biggest and the best since you made reference to someone else, so keep quiet. Personally I would like to see this girl line up against you tough guy. LOL!
  13. Well... time for some enlightenment. They were going to start a women's pro team a while back but I haven't heard much about it since. And what is all the fuss about. All I hear is, "let 'em play, we'll crush the!" Ooo! That takes some brass. Look let 'em play. There are programs out there that already let them play, even though it isn't huge. And as for scientific mumbo-jumbo. Open a text book or do some research, FEMALES HAVE A HIGHER PAIN TOLERANCE THAN MALES! Look I'm not all about give women this and give women that, but how the H3LL would you feel if someone told you that you couldn't play. Give women time they will catch up physically (some already have), but that comes from years of being in the home (don't be the idiot to say "yeah where the belong"or "yeah and they should stay there too! HAHA." I don't see what the big deal is, unless a few of you "macho I want to hurt some chick guys" are intimidated. Maybe you should think about that?
  14. Good Luck LC! But it is going to take more than that. This week we will see that "Mighty D" against a tough team. And I hope that the offense gets a whole lot beter really quick. They have a week to get ready. Not to say that pulling an upset is impossible, I'm just saying that it is not plausible. But hey for what it's worth "Good-Luck!" And congrats on your last 3 victories! LOL!
  15. Easy Boys. Both teams have tough teams this Friday. But to tell you the truth, if Loudon steps up and play the way the are capable, they could go home with a 1-3 record. They'll have to use all their tallent, and keep from being intimidated. As for Lenoir City, they'll finally have something to talk about if the pull a win this Friday. It's going to take more than Hightower or Hawkins to win these ballgames. But I do look for Loudon to come ready to play Friday night. After last Friday, I believe the whole team has to do some soul searching (players and coaches alike). And if I know Coach Harig, he'll have the Redskins ready. And as for Lenoir City, get out the Vaseline. :justwrestle: It's time to face a tough opponent. You boys better come ready (that goes for this Friday and Oct. 29). Loudon don't let me down. "Redskin Pride!"
  16. Hello Redskin Viewers. Anyone who has watched this Redskin team over the past few years, has probably asked, "Who are they, and what are they doing in those uniforms?" I love the Redskins. Don't get me wrong. But the Offensive Coordinator needs to learn from his mistakes. He has promising spells, but then back to the same stuff. Coach... you have more than 3 players on offense that can make things happen. You have a loaded skilled crew. True your line is young, but the can still give the QB enough time to run slants, hitches, etc. Tonight at Sequoyah, it was obvious where the ball was going. Whenever 24 and 3 are in the backfield, there is about a 90% of run. When 24 splits out, there is about a 95% chance that he is going to get it. He is a tallented athlete, but you need to work the rest of what you have to open up opportunities for him to show his tallent. And does anyone have the stats on the passing game? Cover the Fritz boy. If it doesn't go to Hawkins, it's most likely going to him. Tonight was a close ballgame because it was Sequoyah (nothing personal). When it comes to Austin East and Fulton your going to have your hands full. You have experience and tallent everywhere, give them boys a chance. The young line will catch up, they have already shown much improvement since Walker Valley. I was singing praises when I heard the King of Hard-Nosed football was returning. Coach Nichols has an energy that needs to be let loose. I haven't seen the hard-nosed ball that he used to bring to the game. I would love to see it return. Get in their faces and get them motivated. You are a killer Defensive Coordinator, toughen up those guys and the defense will be uncanny. And TACKILING DRILLS, TACKLING DRILLS, TACKLING DRILLS! I have never seen so many guys scared to hit someone. It hurts less to bring the wood than to recieve it. Stick them in a tackling gauntlet and make them get used to it. And finally, GET TO THE BALL! There are too many Redskins walking and standing around before the whisle blows. "Full Speed To The Whistle! If You See Someone From The Other Team Standing Around, Remind Them Where You Are! I don't care who you hit as long as it's somebody!" The more the other team is looking for the hit coming the less they're focussed on their job. Coach Stamey, get the runningbacks into some ball handling drills. Too many fumbles. You have tallented runningbacks. Let Cambell (8) give Hawkins a break. He may be a freshman, but he is quick and he wants to run. He isn't scared of getting hit. The boy has some brass. Have Hawkins keep his eyes up. He did good tonight, but he can do a lot better. Let Cambell give him some compitetion. Hawkins is a big boy, keep his legs moving. Coach Harig, you are the man. I know these other coaches are your friends and you have all grown together, but this is you team. Get the players motivated, and when somebody does something wrong (Coach or Athlete) let them know that it needs to be fixed next play. You are an excellent coach. But you can't always be nice. It's up to you to get this team what they need. You are the one who is in control, and it is your job and reputation that is taking these hits. I watched the past three games, Loudon should be 3-0. It's not too late, but your going to have to take control. I know you have brought more players to the program, but it is time to toughen up on them. It is this tough love that will create a tough and disciplined footbal team. You picked up the team from a downward spiral, but this is a good ball club. If you have to take away the good jersies and the stickers on the helmets, get this team back to a fighting team. They look tired and they do not look as though they have the fight in them that could make them the team they are capable of being. I appologize for any hurtful words. And it is easy for me to criticize when I don't have to make the calls. These are all my personal opinions. As for the newer/younger staff, learn from these coaches, they can teach you a lot. It's time Loudon got back into the running. Play-offs are possible. I can't wait to see how this team develops. -A Redskin Fan
