  1. Really? That’s a bit of an overstatement. Silverdale is not even close to being a McCallie or Baylor....or ND, or CCS...What would they possibly have to offer that BBS doesn’t? Silverdale is still a consistently sub .500 program. Just because they got their first win against BBS in our worst season ever, they still haven’t “arrived”.

  2. I see you are from Boyd right? So that is a Christian school right? Open that Bible of yours and go to John chapter 8, verse 7. Surely that's not just a guideline at your school?

Since you asked... Yes I graduated from BBS, yes I am a Christian, and I am very familiar with the story of Jesus' encounter with the woman and her accusers. Very familiar with forgiveness...been given a whole lot more than I ever deserved, and I do my best to give it as well.

In spite of your cherry-picking from the Bible, I will say that in addition to forgiveness, we are taught that sometimes there has to be justice, personal responsibility, consequence even when there's forgiveness, and that "the devil made me do it" is not an excuse from my own accountability.

My question of your repeated attempts to excuse and justify your buddy was not "un-Christian".

  3. I am not defending my friends actions. They were wrong and he is well aware of that now. Does this make him a bad guy? Not in my opinion. Just a guy who had bad judgement in following an order. Remember he was trained for years and years in elite military units that you follow orders from your bosses or superiors. I have spoken with him and his family has been devastated by all this. I was asked not to discuss any particulars about this until legal process plays out. I think a lot of people are upset at the extreme failure of leadership.

You're not defending his actions, but you're excusing him for breaking the law. He's a grown man and he's just now aware that this was wrong, and he had a choice not to do it? Really?

  4. Yea the field house being painted is really a petty thing. It's the rules violation and the other coach admitting to taking a playbook that concerns me.

Oldindian, if this wasn't your BFF, and if slurs about players were painted on sequatchie's field house, you would not be calling it a petty thing.

In what world is cheating in a football game a greater offense than publicly humiliating the kids you have been entrusted to coach and protect?

  5. MC's season should be over immediately. Even though the players are innocent, and I would hate it for them, it is the only right thing to do with a coaching staff that has been this corrupt. I understand that there would be innocent victims, but in most all cases of justice being served, someone innocent is hurt by the consequences of someone else's actions. Our jails are full of moms and dads of innocent victims.

If the MC administration does not immediately suspend the head coach, and if TSSAA doesn't immediately sanction the program, they are setting a bad precedent and sending a dangerous message.

  6. On one hand, I think the sheriff's office deserves some credit for having the footballs to make an arrest of a coach in the middle of the playoffs.

On the other hand, I'm skeptical that this may just be a small fish that they can say they caught until the MC season ends, when they suddenly reveal that there are more and bigger fish that they will have "just found out" were involved.

I hope my skepticism is wrong, but the refusal of the sheriff's office to confirm or deny knowledge of others being involved is kind of shady.

  7. I honestly don't think Silverdale will keep it close. Their whole season was built up to last week's game. I am guessing that they had so much of an emotional investment in the BBS game, that at this point they are as deflated as the balloons they never got to release. I think they have a hard time getting up for this game, and a hungry bunch from Rockwood dominates them.

  8. yeah sure let me read through a bunch of pages. I just searched grace chill out

It was in my post that you quoted...not hard to find

I'll make it easy for you...I was directly quoting what the kid from Silverdale was saying about Boyd...It's not all about Knoxville Grace.

  9. Yes they played a patsy schedule and they are over rated......And y'all had to go to overtime to win....Y'all must be loaded.......

No, BBS is not "loaded" this year. It has been a down year for the Bucs, but what an OT game does show is that the two teams are more even than their respective records would indicate.

  10. sorry...i obviously struck a nerve with thoughtful analysis. probably does not mean as much to you since i choose not to partake in name-calling and bashing. only football thoughts here. don't worry though, if i am right, i will take the high road and have no further comments for you to dissect. if i am wrong, i will be back to eat my crow and take my medicine. and it is so great to know that there are those so close to the football program on here that can share with the team the thoughts of so many. i know the coaches await your insight. congratulations on your insider position.

  11. I'm calling BULLCRAP on all of this schedule comparison stuff. This stupid playoff system that the geniuses at TSSAA have in place gives no credence to subjective polls (as it should be, because people who vote in those polls know less about football than the self proclaimed experts on this board), so there is no reason for a team to schedule "tough" opponents to ready them for playoff action. because as we can all see, a mediocre boyd team can back into the playoff by playing and losing to mediocre - good teams during regular season. let's be honest, how has boyd bettered themselves and their playoff chances by getting blown out by SP(good team), ND(ok team), playing a close game to a pretty good DCA team, and losing to mediocre AT BEST teams like FRA, SC, McMinn? all they have to do in this stupid system is beat two teams that can't beat anyone, CB and Grace, and they are in.

you get to the playoffs by playing who is on your schedule, and let the chips fall where they may. it makes more sense to me that teams like silverdale and others are in a much better frame of mind entering the playoffs on a high note, rather than being beatdown week after week like boyd has, trying to get boys who are used to winning, up for tough opponents. look, GCA, Trousdale, and maybe TCA are loaded this year and will be tough for anybody to beat, regardless who you play in regular season. just don't tell me that boyd, or anyone else who has gotten beatdown by playing a "tough" schedule is better prepared for playoff action. i think not.
