  1. Fairview is going to be a good team this year. They only lost one senior and other than that they will be fine. They will have a tough schedule but I think they can pull it out.

they actually lost two seniors - Steven and Ryan Brison. Both good friends of mine

  2. It's just that. A scrimmage. You can only learn so much by playing against your own team or switching to offense vs. defense. So maybe Fairview doesn't have the same skill as Franklin, it gave them (franklin) the opportunity to get out and play, practice what they learned, and move on. Going by what you are saying forward 88, Franklin and Brentwood should spend every game playing each other and no one else. Ca7 - I don't know any of their players so I'm not sure who was playing there. I think it was numbers 10 and 29 though.

  3. I played football for the past 6 years.  I have played soccer for 2.  What sticks out the most to me is the level of intensity that soccer seems to lack.  Everyone jokes around and goofs off.  You don't realy see that with most football teams.  I love soccer but I believe it takes more of a man to play football.  Because you don't have 11 guys from the other team trying to rip your legs out everytime the ball is in play like in football.  The closest you can get to football in soccer is at the goalkeeper position.  And thats why I love playing keeper.

As far as level of intensity- maybe you aren't playing with/against the right teams. If you ever get the chance to step on to the field against a really competitive team (I know there are a few of those across the state), let me know what that feels like.

I love watching football. I follow my school to every home and away game - preseasons scrimmages, regular season, and post season play off games. It's an awesome game to watch. One reason I love watching so much is because I can no longer play. It is a physically tougher game than soccer. Not to say soccer isn't tough, football is just tougher. I still play soccer and love it just as much. Something about the game that I just can't place, but it is really a great game. As much as I enjoy both games, I'm going to have to agree with what a handful of people posted earlier, football is the game to watch, soccer is the game to play.

  4. for pitting an scrawny, undersized Fairview against a bigger (in both size and numbers) Franklin, it went ok. Fairview held Franklin to 2 goals in the first half of the varsity game. Both teams played well in spite of conditions (rain, wet fields, etc). Franklin won 5-1 with a late Fairview goal. I want to say there were two yellow cards given to Franklin, should have been at least one to Fairview. In the end, Fairview got their heads out of the game and let some easy ones in.

  5. To the people of Fairview -

Parents of FHS Football players -

Thank you for allowing your sons to play for us. It was great to have a chance to play with them all and see the individual strengths of each player form a team. We appriciate your support through every win and loss and the fact that you cared for us as a team.

    Fans -

Thank you for attending the games - putting up with the cold weather and the rain. It's our hope that you enjoyed watching. Thank you for supporting us in every game, even when we weren't winning. If we have one thing to ask, it's that you don't stop supporting Fairview now. Sure, Football's over, but basketball is getting underway and we'd like to see you fill up the gym like you did the stadium. Please keep supporting Fairview athletics because we are getting better.

    Our Student cheering section -

We saw many of you at away games as well as home games. Don't htink you know how much it helps us to hear you cheering adn how thankful we are that you came and supported us - even if it was 30 someting degreess outside, you we there.

    FHS Football Players-

Thanks for a great season. good luck and best wishes to the seniors of this team. Bobby, Lee, Matt, John, Quentin, Jeremy, Sweeny, Zach, Glenn, we had a great time while it lasted.

  6. You can single out individual players and athletes all day long.  The fact is that the Camden Lions are a "TEAM" and they have played team football all year long.  I think that is where there edge is in this game.  They don't have one guy that they hang there hat on.  Josh only had an average game against Lewis Co. but the entire team contributed to the 32-0 victory.  Fairview might have faced greater individuals and athletes, but have they seen a team play together in the manner that Camden does?.....Personally, I don't think so.  Should be a great game!

Yes, Fairview has some powerful individuals. Yes, some of them get more credit than others. but Yes, there are other talented people on Fairview's side of things, and what's more, but them together and they play just that, together. A team. DBack said it well, very few players have gotten on this to talk about the game. Let's just show up Friday and watch our boys play their game.

  7. Please leave your requests to just one per post so we can manage to get as many back as possible.  They tend to stack up and fall over on Percy and myself.

LEONARDS LOSERS      Cleveland, The Powell Panthers are huge, and the offense is coming into its own.  While Cleveland has yet to see its better play of the year, just can't handle the mear size of the Panthers.  Although the Blue Raiders have much faster team speed, it will not be fast enough.  The Blue Raiders will host the team from Powell.  The coaching staff from Powell will have them ready.  The Blue Raiders players are ready for basketball.  A 6-4 season in Blue Raider country is not good.  The Panthers must play their best ball to continue on, and will.  Powell by 5, and advance to round 2.

LEONARDS LOSERS  Adamsville, The 8-2 Yellowjackets of Fairview will travel to Adamsville to take on the 6-4 Cardinals.  Should be a good game.  Even though the records show a better Fairview team.  The Cardinals will go down fighting.  Fairview by 8, and advance to 2nd round.

I'm pretty sure Adamsville is coming to Fairview to play...

  8. how about Eric Gasiecki from Fairview? He is only a sophomore and is already kicking 55 yarders in practice. He as good accuracy and he can punt and kick the ball into the end-zone. Give him another year, and i say he will be a d-1 prospect, and possibly the best kicker in the state.

give eric another year and then look for some recognition

  9. Awesome Game !  Yellow Jackets ! you guys really played well and inspite of several bad calls by the refs. One being that they didn't see that obvious late hit that layed our guy out ? Were they just blind? And for Cheat'em to not have respect for the player that was hurt by "taking a knee", well, that just showed a lack of class. Our guys "took a knee" when their player was down and it wasn't because of a low blow eaither.

Anyway, you guys showed Cheat'em Co.and the whole region why: YOU ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

Many have underestimated the Yellow Jackets, but this team has a lot of heart and plays to win.

Now it's back home against Adamsville for the 1st round of the play off's, and we predict a very big win for the Yellow Jackets at home.

    Go Jackets!!!!
