  1. This thread should have stopped right there...
  2. CAsoccergirlie - I'm not trying to be rude so please don't take it that way... but Travel soccer plays under the FIFA rules which are frequently different than TSSAA.... it might be the same for this call though...
  3. FIFA rules say you are allowed to. Anything that doesn't come off of your foot the keep is allowed to pick up. Please keep in mind that this is the FIFA ruling... I'm not sure about TSSAA...
  4. how did Independence fair with Brentwood yesterday?
  5. soccerplayer - who told you he wouldn't be playing?
  6. CPA 2 at Fairview 3 Freshmen keeper in for Fairview most of second half
  7. they actually lost two seniors - Steven and Ryan Brison. Both good friends of mine
  8. It's just that. A scrimmage. You can only learn so much by playing against your own team or switching to offense vs. defense. So maybe Fairview doesn't have the same skill as Franklin, it gave them (franklin) the opportunity to get out and play, practice what they learned, and move on. Going by what you are saying forward 88, Franklin and Brentwood should spend every game playing each other and no one else. Ca7 - I don't know any of their players so I'm not sure who was playing there. I think it was numbers 10 and 29 though.
  9. As far as level of intensity- maybe you aren't playing with/against the right teams. If you ever get the chance to step on to the field against a really competitive team (I know there are a few of those across the state), let me know what that feels like. I love watching football. I follow my school to every home and away game - preseasons scrimmages, regular season, and post season play off games. It's an awesome game to watch. One reason I love watching so much is because I can no longer play. It is a physically tougher game than soccer. Not to say soccer isn't tough, football is just tougher. I still play soccer and love it just as much. Something about the game that I just can't place, but it is really a great game. As much as I enjoy both games, I'm going to have to agree with what a handful of people posted earlier, football is the game to watch, soccer is the game to play.
  10. for pitting an scrawny, undersized Fairview against a bigger (in both size and numbers) Franklin, it went ok. Fairview held Franklin to 2 goals in the first half of the varsity game. Both teams played well in spite of conditions (rain, wet fields, etc). Franklin won 5-1 with a late Fairview goal. I want to say there were two yellow cards given to Franklin, should have been at least one to Fairview. In the end, Fairview got their heads out of the game and let some easy ones in.
  11. Yeah. They show up ready to play everytime we play them. Good competition
