  1. District 11 AA has been pretty successful the last few years. Harpeth has been to the state tournament the last two years and could easily go again this year. Montgomery Central was there the year before that and lost 1-0 in the semifinals. These two programs plus Sycamore and Creek Wood play programs from around the entire state and built a solid reputation for our district statewide. There is no need to feel sorry for this district and their programs. They are respected by high school coaches and college coaches( numerous signees) throughout Tennessee. Also Fairview and Waverly have excellent coaches who have helped send many players to the collegiate level. Cheatham County also has former players who currently are excelling at the collegiate level and Stewart County's current coach is building a solid program. Exciting tournament action will return Monday and the currently 11, and possibly more future college players will continue their high school careers in DISTRICT 11.
  2. I dont think the MC coach will cut the grass. He must like the Cubs, at Wrigley Field you can lose the ball in the inflield and the same can be said at the Indians field.
  3. Sorry I dont believe a coin toss will settle things tommorrow but I could be wrong.
  4. Sycamore has a very good team led by a great Coach, Dale Daniel. Harpeth has a very talented team who is undefeated in district play. My question though is how Sycamore is head and shoulders above everbody else when they only split with Montgomery Central and has not played Creek Wood and Harpeth yet. Also Creek Wood was regular season champions last year and did not win the tournament and Harpeth three years ago sailed thru the regular season, ranked in the top ten in the state, but did not win the district tournament so maybe by the end of another probably great tournament who knows who will win.
  5. Harpeth has a very good baseball team. They destroyed Montgomery Central the last two nights. They however lacked class and/or character the first night they defeated Montgomery Central. They did this by stealing third with a 10-0 lead and then stealing second with a 11-0 lead. It is important to respect the game of BASEBALL and they did neither on the first night. They have talent but need to learn the game. The second game they did not repeat their mistakes which is a postive. Good luck to them.
  6. Jackson Southside and Ripley are two good teams. If they are hot at the right time they could go along ways.
  7. Sounds like it was a great game. Ripley has a great team and coach and hopefully will respond from defeat and win tommorrow.

    District 11AA

Cody Dunn pitched first 6 innings to go 3-0 on the season and Daniel Baggett pitched 7th for his first save of year agn Jackson Southside. District 11-AA is strong again this year and hopefully will have a team in state tournament for 3rd straight year and maybe a state champion.

    District 11AA

Montgomery Central defeats AAA Rossview 5-1. Cody Dunn has no hitter going into 6th and Jake Dunn breaks it up with single. Dunn finishes with 2 hitter and Scott Bearden drives in 3 runs for Montgomery Central who is now 3-3 on season.
  10. Clarksville at Montgomery Central is pretty good opening day game.

    11 AA

District 11-AA has alot of quality teams, players, and coaches. Montgomery Central and Harpeth have represented district well in state tournament last two years and somebody will go again this year and hopefully win it. Good luck to all teams this year, anybody can win it.
  12. The District 10 AA tournament has been a good so far. Creek Wood who has had a great season was eliminated tonight. Harpeth and Sycamore will battle Wednesday for the district championship. Both teams are very good and could go far. Some people have questioned the districts tournament scheduling. It actually gives the district an advantage going into the regional tournament if not delayed by poor weather. They have used this concept for quite a while and if I am not mistaken Montgomery Central made it quite a ways last year and was just one run short last year from making it to the state championship game. Montgomery Central, Waverly, Creek Wood, Sycamore, and Harpeth have quality programs that have done the district proud over the last few years and will continue to do so. Good luck to Harpeth and Sycamore in the regional tournament next week.
  13. Good post JD. Off the subject some, David Miller from Cunningham, Tn who was an All State Tournament selection from Montgomery Central last year was the player of the game in the JC showcase series this weekend. Cory Gunter also a graduate from Montgomery Central earned a save in his first appearance as a Austin Peay State governor last week and Justin Bryant another Montgomery Central graduate is in the starting rotation for UT-Martin. There are alot of great high school programs in Middle Tennessee and Montgomery Central is one of them
  14. playground legend, Why is Montgomery Central in the top 10? I really dont know? They defeated a great team and one of the top programs in the state in Marshall County in the regional championship last year, they defeated Jackson Southside in the Sectionals which has one of the best coaches in the state and were State runner-ups the previous year, they defeated Seymour in the state tournament which had a great team last year and will have great team this year, they defeated David Lipbscomb in the state tournament probably one of the top 5 programs in the state every year and has a legendary coach. They return a first team All State pitcher who won many of those games, plus 4 all Area team selections, plus 3 All district selections, plus 1 all state tournament selection. They have also won four of the last five District 10 tournaments. They also drilled Harpeth High School in the Championship game last year. They also play a very differcult SCHEDULE each year including MILAN, WHITE HOUSE,JACKSON SOUTHSIDE, DICKSON COUNTY, CLARKSVILLE, ROSSVIEW, GALLATIN AND OTHERS. I dont know maybe they have a decent team this year.
  15. Waverly is the best team in the district, if in doubt check their record. Secondly they have great fans just as Creek Wood, Cheatham County, Montgomery Central and Stewart County has. However what they dont have is spoiled middle class brats who are so immature, lack self-esteem and self confidence that they have to come to high school games to curse and belittle people who they know cant respond to them. In the end however if these people feel better about themselves hiding behind "the crowd" then I guess it serves a purpose. High School sports is great and their are alot of great players, coaches, cheerleaders, and FANS.
