    TSSAA

Loads of sugestions for TSSAA. Probably doesn't matter, whizzing in the wind, here goes: 1. Definitely lower student prices, across the board. the show at state alone proves there needs to be incentive to bring the kids and fans to the gym. One, two and three games a week is expensive, even for the deepest pockets. 2. Instead of TSSAA dictating how many passes are given to each team, no exception, ask how many are needed. Team sports require support. Alot of volunteer effort and faculty bust it all year for the teams and then are told sorry, not important enough for a pass to the big game. I'm not nieve enough to think the sky can't be the limit here, talk to the schools. Deal with the cases. Some may not have needed their allottment while others may have needed just one or two more to take care of staff. You are dealing with college graduates, teachers and coaches I'm sure a mediator won't be needed. 3. $5.00 for parking! I had to pay second day in the same funeral home lot. Free Weds, $5.00 Friday. Me and others questioned the 'supposed' attendants. Reply, "I think it's going to TSSAA?" At least pay someone to stand out there so they can answer with confidence and take the cussing. You're all profit on the $5.00. Please, with today's gas prices it cost $20.00 in gas to come just a few miles. 4. I think, all TSSAA heads need weekly payroll deductions egual to the amount the average basketball family puts out in their weekly budget so they can have empathy for the crunch. Average: Family of three, 2 games a week; Admission-$25, gas-$40, (single A, all games at least an hour away) Food and or game support items & donations-$30 Low guesses, still about $100 a week, $400 a month,+/- . Tournament time? double, triple and quad the number. Most especially if your team makes it to state. Watching your child play? Priceless to the parent, Profitable to TSSAA. 5.Wanna really fill my Easter basket? Give each player two passes for family members who are hurting come tournament time. My thoughts? A mere two cents worth. Thanks!
  2. How impressive! Four in a row. According to the program only two other programs have won four in a row. Single A Pickett Co. 1977-1980 and AAA Shelbyville 1989-1992. Nobody ever in AA. Five in a row looks like it would break a record for all classifications. I may be wrong on this, my own silly research. Feel free to correct me. Congratulations Jackson County.
  3. Very nicely put! The whole experience is a dream for all. For some a dream come true. A lot of stress for these young ladies carrying everyone's expectations on their shoulders. Congratulations Peabody! Great win! 2003 Single A State Champs!
  4. You might by right gesvol. I have no right making predictions. Was evidently feeling my oats and trying to give Ezell a good word. What a great championship game! Down to the wire, tight all the way. Very deserving. Congratulations Peabody! You came to win and took home the gold! [Edited by lbl on 3-15-03 7:15P]
  5. Gotta go with Ezell by 12, double the score they beat Moore County by. Middle Tennesse sticks together. I agree with earlier post, shame the bracket was the way it was. Championship game was played yesterday in my opinion.
  6. sinjin, I respect your not responding to brinak, I would have erased too but I had too much fun writing my post. Our girls are out, I needed entertainment!
  7. DEAR BRIANK, (IN A FONT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND, NOT BECAUSE I AM SCREAMING) GREAT GAME YESTERDAY FOR MOORE COUNTY AND EZELL HARDING. MET SOME OF THE EZELL GIRLS, YOU SHOULD HAVE THEIR CLASS. THEY APPRECIATED THE GAME AND THE WIN, AND IT WASN'T JUST ANOTHER GAME, BY THEIR WORDS IT WAS "THE MIDDLE TN CHAMPIONSHIP" BY YOUR STANDARDS WE'RE SLIGHTLY ABOVE FRA. WE BEAT THEM, THEY BEAT YOU. FLIP OF THE COIN. GOOD COMPETITION. GOGOLD TOLD YOU RIGHT, SHAME ON YOU, IN MOORE COUNTY WE DON'T SPEAK TO OUR MOMS THAT WAY. FOR YOUR NAME, DROP THE K, REVERSE THE 'I' AND 'A', AND GET ONE. FINAL SCORE: MOORE-IS SO PROUD OF OUR GIRLS-COUNTY EZELL-SLIPPED BY WITH SIX POINTS-HARDING By the way, do something useful with your time and fix that step in your gym, I always trip on the way to the yummy hamburgers. BACK TO THE BACKER PATCHES TIL NEXT YEAR, GOTTA RAISE MONEY FOR THE NEXT SEASON! Hey you know who- (did I use too many commas? ha ha)
  8. Where to start on Abby Fanning, hmmmmm? SMART? If she's a doctor, I'm a patient, If she's an accountant, she does my taxes, and so on and so on. KNOW BASKETBALL? She helped write the book I think. Poor Cloudland, 'justafan'. To think you hold yourself so high that you can judge a player on one game, Scary up there, "come down off the cross honey, somebody needs the wood!" I've watched Abby play since she was seven years old. Oh my goodness! The shot from the knees was nothing! Try halfcourt, on the buzzer, in the district or region! You would have been asking for autographs if you had only seen some of what we've seen. We will miss watching her and the other seniors, good luck to all in whatever your future endeavors might be. Does Abby deserve Miss Basketball? you betcha! Doesn't matter if she gets it or not, in our minds she IS 'Miss Basketball', that's all that matters. Heck, as the Alzheimers begins in the future, I will selectively remember them winning the "state" (Ha Ha) I've heard some thought the '98 team won, just because Janet got Miss Basketball. Time is a lovely thing. So for you and the other two people from Cloudland that attended the game, (where was your crowd and cheerleaders?) try to find a way to uplift young athletes who are mere high school students. I pray you're a child yourself and not a parent that all this ugly talk could come back on you someday.
  9. Had to find a thread to post my feelings under. I chose the one with all caps, GREAT SEASON! Not because I don't know how to take the all caps off (supaballa), because I really do believe these words needs to be screamed! Moore County is so proud of you. What a great run. 33 season wins, 18 straight wins, 2 state tournament games, final four in the state! Only losses to AA-Upperman, AAA-Lebanon, A-Harriman (eventual tournament contender) and 2 losses to Ezell, who was beaten by FRA, and you handled FRA no problem. It's all about luck, timing and if it's meant to be, it evidently wasn't. Your experience will only make you stronger in many ways. Those that didn't have the best game, don't beat yourself up, alot of high school players didn't get the chance on the big floor. You'll gain character strength from the experience. You all are blessed and in my opinion and you had the best community and fan support! What an awesome crowd, the largest for every single A game I saw. Wouldn't it be pitiful to make it to the big dance and nobody cared. Everyone cares in Moore County. When I got back to Lynchburg, stopped in Jiffy, the girl waiting on me answered the ringing phone and said, "No, they lost, yea it was close, bye bye." I said "who was that" She said, "I don't know, they've been calling for a couple of hours" Imagine that, Jiffy is scoreboard central. Well so is the jail and Woodards and everywhere else. WE CARE, WE LOVE YOU, AND WE'RE PROUD OF YOU! (All caps on purpose!) RAIDERETTES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Edited by lbl on 3-15-03 3:02P]
  10. What a class act in Eagleville. Moore County thanks you for hosting our sub-state game. It meant alot to our players, coaching staff, fans and community. Great 11A support! I had already complimented your school officials earlier in the week for putting on such a fine regional tournament. Parking, concessions, hospitality and all administration and support staff did a wonderful job. And then you went the extra mile and had us over on Saturday night! Maybe someday we can re-pay the favor. As our sign said at the end of the game, "Only thing small about us is our gym!" Bring home the gold ball girls for Moore County, Eagleville and the rest of 11A!
  11. suppaballa vs braink: I've never laughed so hard! LOL LOL LOL, hiccup, spit coffee, choke, cough, run to the bathroom! Wait a minute, I have laughed that hard before.... Last night! Good Luck at State Raiderettes, all of us country bumpkins are behind you!
  12. I think both of these programs are top notch. How many times has it come down to these two teams for the regional championship? Fans always get their money's worth when these two go head to head. What an awesome accomplishment for Coach Sessions. Congratulations! She is from a different generation of respect, more coaches need to be observing and taking notes. She doesn't have to be-head a ref over a bad call, she knows the MC fans will take care of that. At this point in the season, good luck to 11A & 12A our region needs to get to the state tournament!
  13. Shame on the girl's parents, and I say girl because I refuse to put her name to memory. Respect and history not taught in that home. Obviously not raised in the south, I bet she doesn't say yes mam and yes sir. Simple answer for this one, NEVER MIX PLEASURE AND POLITICS. Basketball is a team sport for pleasure. Shame on the coach and school for allowing this in a team sport. Had she decided she didn't like the school colors, and protested by not wearing the uniform, I bet she wouldn't have played. Private protests should be done in private. Maybe a private talk with a veteran or clergy or God would help her. God bless our service men and women and our decision makers. We, as Americans, have to have faith in all of these and respect our symbols that represent them, like the flag!

    Abby Fanning

Abby has it all in the game. Knowledge, physical ability and heart! I doubt there is anyone her age that knows as much about the game as she does. She is a leader on and off the court. Graduating Valedictorian of her class puts the icing on the cake. Her goal as always is to win. Good Luck in your college ventures, whatever you choose. The whole community is behind you and our Raiderettes. A great bunch of girls. Good Luck in the tournaments.
  15. Amen! Whoever suggested such a thing, obviously does not know this woman, her husband and their son!
