  1. I don't know about some of these... normally I'll agree with you. But Knox West is very week, and there's also a couple others that I don't really know, so I can't comment on.
  2. Shelbyville is going to open the year with a game at home against Riverdale on Thursday (8/18). If you've visited our field before, a couple of changes have taken place. The crowd will be behind a 4 foot fence, kind of like at the new Franklin County field, to keep the crowd off of the field.... as Shelbyville is very well known for.
  3. Sounds like an excuse rather than a reason.
  4. Cancelled. Blackman had trouble getting a bus.
  5. Riverdale doesn't seem strong this year.
  6. If you've seen Shelbyville play last year, or in the early parts of this year, YOU will care about Shelbyville. They will threaten anybody around them for the next few years. Might not beat them all, but they will make teams play hard for a win against them. They have 10 returning starters and a healthy team.
  7. The only time that you'll see me 'really talk' is when it's justifiable. These girls WILL have to play hard to have a winning season this year, but as I have said before.... 'Great Teams Play Great Soccer'. If you're looking at the top, you've got to hang and play with the top.
  8. Shelbyville vs. Blackman in Shelbyville on 8/18. JV at 5pm, Varsity at 7pm. Might be a good match to see from other teams in Division 7 or 8.
  9. By the way, those wins for Shelbyville were only on 40 minute games with alot of JV play (from Shelbyville). Not much of a contest at the Warren County Tournament this year.
  10. SCHS is not Smyrna, they are talking about Shelbyville.
  11. Sounds like the CCS Tournament will be a pretty good tournament. Alot of skill will be shown.
  12. Does anybody think that pre-season tournaments will change the state rankings? If so, how?
  13. Shelbyville Center Midfielder was going up for a header in the State Semi's against Ootlewah(?), when she came down she tore her ACL. 6 months of physical therapy, 1 year in a knee brace, and 4 nice little scars on her knee from the surgery. Was told by her Ortho Dr. that ACL is the most common because girls don't cut like guys do. It's a learned thing from early days of races, football, etc... Don't wish it on any player or parent out there. Thank God for insurance.
  14. bumpbut maybe not in that order, I see alot of 1st & 2nds that might switch around by Regional Fianl time.
  15. yes they are, and playing Katie Hunter the weekend before also.
  16. Didn't Tullahoma loose 2 strong players down the middle? If you can't control the middle, it's going to be harder to win against the strong teams.
  17. Shelbyville is coming back with only loosing 1 Senior, but replacing her with a stronger Freshman. Also bringing back a Sophmore that moved away last year, but is retuning as a very strong player. With these two plus 10 returning starters, these girls might come up from the dirt and impress alot of critics. Guess we'll see at Katie Hunter. With that said, if you saw these girls last year, add about 20% more talent and speed. Might be just THE team to watch.
  18. looks about right on. Not sure if Tullahoma will place that high though. Nor Smyrna.
  19. Shelbyville 8/18 Riverdale 8/27-28 Franklin & Hendersonville @ Drakes Park 9/2 St. Agnes 4:30 @ Katie Hunter 9/3 Oak Ridge 12:30 @ Katie Hunter 9/4 Oneida 4:00 @ Katie Hunter 9/6 @ Lawrence County 9/9-10 CCS Tournament - Chattanooga 9/13 Lincoln County 9/15 @ Columbia 9/22 @ Tullahoma 9/27 Franklin County 9/29 Coffee County 10/3 @ Brentwood 10/6 Smyrna
  20. My last note on this thread is this........ Shelbyville started 5 Freshmen and 4 Sophomores in this game against Ooltewah. During the first 5 minutes we lost a powerful mid fielder in an injury...... we're ready for next year and years to come. Good luck to all.
  21. There hasn't been a game, either home or away that our girls didn't take the middle of the field to stretch. Just about all teams that we have played have done the same..... It was even something that we did when I was in HS Soccer in the North, and as for Shelbyville parents and fans...... If you thought that they were bad yesterday.... don't go to a home game, they'll tear you apart.
  22. Again like I stated in my message up above, Permission was asked and granted by the home team. If you didn't want the signs up, you should have never said yes.
