  1. All the players mentioned here are very good players. Golden is explosive as is Chris Donald and Harrison Smith. Awards for these players were based on statistics for 2006. Golden had great statistics as well as the others but he was most impressive this year. There are always good players coming up and they will succeed too; however, give all the seniors their due. The class of '07 is a very strong class.

The great thing about players like Golden and others getting national attention is that future players in Tennessee will get looks. Let's face it the state of Tennessee is an untapped pool of talent.

PS Golden was not ranked as high as Chris Donald because he chose to play baseball last summer and not go to the Nike and other camps. Not a mistake on his part since he is now going to one of the most prestigious universities in the nation (not only athletically but academically).

  2. I guess you forgot again about Christian Brothers. Does your computer turn my posts into a language that you have difficulty understanding? I don't believe I have been talking about JPII, once again you are trying to twist things away from your constant bashing of Father Ryan. Well, got to go and polish the Bishop's Cup. By the way, what is a ponits. It won't be long before we read in the paper that enraged poster takes ball pinged hammer and murders her computer. My Gosh, what drama. :justwrestle: Remember always be a lady.

Did you know you were posting to KnightTime05? I am worried about you fieldman. You seem to be losing it! Sit, relax and breathe!

  3. JPII fan is once again exposing her feelings toward Father Ryan. Please don't post again that you are rooting for Ryan, everyone knows its a lie. This love-hate blame the institution, not the child syndrom is getting way out of hand. If you or your child or cousin or sister or brother could not achieve at Ryan, too bad, but don't blame a great school for your or your family's failure to achieve there. I know some kids that hated everything about JPII as a school, but you don't see anyone blaming a school for one or two disenchanted people, especially me. You broke your promise, you said you were going to take the high road, you have not accomplished that yet. I predicted a JPII victory, even with a defense that is laughable. Please prepare yourself for the playoffs and next season, cause I have a feeling you won't be posting much then either. Remember, always be a lady. :justwrestle:

Hey, good win Knightime, but your defense still has a long way to go. Despite the crazy posts from JPII fan, I truly hope JPII can win it all. Afterall, they are our sister school. But I am getting better responding to Bi-Polar posters. The best of luck to you and JPII the rest of the season.

Did I make you angry fieldman? I did not know that you were so sensitive. I called you the ultimate hypocrite(spelling) which is fact. "People in glass houses should not throw stones." Don't talk to me about the high road when you have never taken the high road you Pharisee! Ryan is a horrible school...FACT!

PS I am rooting for Ryan. How's that fieldman?:D:D

  4. The only hypocrite(correct spelling) is you, JP2Fan. You try and wish the Irish well and root for them and then you turn around and run your mouth about them. since you like to bash the Irish i think i'll do the same. From what I hear, Harding was the better team but once again pope got lucky in OT.

  5. Ole Dad:

First, when you respond with a quote, it is preferred that you respond under it so that the conversation occurs in chronological order.

Second, lose, as in the opposite of win is spelled lose. Loose is the opposite of tight.

Third, Ryan still plays BGA, Baylor, BA, and McCallie. They will likely go 1-3, giving them a season ending record of 5-5, which will have them miss the playoffs again, which will secure them a place in the annals of mediocrity, where they seemed to have found a permanent home.

Fourth, MBA's worst team in recent memory shut out Ryan's best team in recent memory to continue a 10 game winning streak over the Irish. Even at our worst, we're better than your best.

    Well said Redtwin!

I wish the best for MBA and Ryan.

  6. You're correct. MBA whose team stinks this year beat FRHS and they should be embrrassed for loosing to such a bunch of loosers. Maybe they will get back on track for the balance of the season and win 2-3 more games. I suspect MBA will still stink and loose most of their remaining games.

    Ole Dad

As usual, Ole Dad, your stupidity is showing. MBA has a great tradition of football and a longer tradition than Father Ryan. MBA is a very good team but has been absolutely decimated by injuries this year. For them to bounce back and beat a pretty good Ryan team is very admirable. To call MBA "a bunch of losers" is assinine.

That sun in Florida has sunburned your brain and its ability to process facts. Maybe the doctor has something for that. :thumb:

  7. MBA really didn't do much after the first quarter at all. The first two drives, if I recall correctly, they were in Ryan territory including the first drive where they got to the Irish 1. After that, Ryan really settled down and played their defense but the offense couldn't do much(as posted earlier no first downs in the first half). Part of the reason for that is rotating quarterbacks. I do not think they can continue to do this anymore to succeed. Anyways, I am not an excuse maker when we lose, but the Father Ryan TD that was called back was trash. I would like to see the tape of the game and see what happened there. I heard that FR #8 pushed the MBA defender right in the chest and was engaged for less than a second and was flagged for holding. I do feel that the refs called a lot of bad penalties and didn't let the two sides play the game.

Maybe we will see you again in the playoffs and you can have a real quarterback and throw the ball more than twice(with your wide receiver). The play calling really had the Irish in a bind.

It will be interesting to see what Jeff Lockridge or whatever the HS football writer for the Tennessean writes about the game. I have heard in the past that he is an MBA grad. Is that true? If so, that explains why he makes all the Irish wins sound like pure luck.

One more question, what went wrong in your game against CBHS? I never saw anything but the score and that is how I came up with my prediction for tonight. I guess the traveling really hurts.

I never thought I would say this but good luck to MBA because we want you in the playoffs(please God let us beat BGA).

Yeah you're not an excuse maker!

  8. Nobody has responded to your post but me. Where have all the loyal supporters of the JPII Knights gone. PS. Where are you at JPII fan, it usually takes me awhile to read all your posts. :(

I feel so warm and fuzzy inside that everyone has missed me soooo. Not that I owe anyone an excuse but family health issues have diminished my message board posting. So thanks for the prayers and good wishes fieldman you are ultimate hypocrit!

  9. I am sure something like that would happen. But I would thing BA would go West with MBA staying in the East

In that east/west scenario MBA and Ensworth would have to travel for all region games except the game that they play each other, whereas the teams in the east region could play 1/2 of their region games in middle tennessee. The more I think about it they may opt for 3 regions and require play against teams in the other 2 regions for playoff eligibility. Now if Knox Catholic and Notre Dame had stayed in D2 then there would be no question about 3 regions.

  10. Let me start off by saying I think the coaching staff is as good as any if.....they stop reliving the glory of their BA days and coach JP2. JP2 can be as good as any team if they trust their players. Most of the players are there because they want to play football; they are coachable. There is as much talent on the JP2 team this year as any team I have seen.

COACHES: Coach for the present and future and quit comparing JP2 players to your past.

Knightime I believe that Shaver has taken over alot of the O-calls. Brothers needs to take over the defensive calles if he is dissatisfied with the results. With a strong defense this team is 4-0 right now.

I know there were some d-line calls last week that resulted in the long plays for GP last week. There needs to be a well defined game plan (both offensively and defensively) and we need to stick to it. Last week Wesley was sick so he did not run as much as we needed him. If he is back healthy this week we need to run him liberally and set Golden and Josh up for some nice play action passes. ECS had alot of tipped passes against MUS, four of which ended up as interceptions. Cat needs to roll out more to give him an opportunity to make a play down the field. I have to give Cat credit he is really growing into a good QB (makes sound decisions and his stats are pretty good as well). This is region play but we don't need to play too conservatively. I believe that has been one of our shortcomings is that we play too conservatively and we have all of this explosive talent.

    Knights will win tonight 28-24.

  11. I would say Golden Tate is your best talent in the state and will draw national attention. Still, I saw Chris Donald play for Huntingdon the year they had Terrance Edwards as Mr. Football and won the title against David Lipscomb. That team was unstoppable offensively and could have won the 4A or maybe the 5A title that year. Donald was a great player even as a freshman. He was 6'1" 195 fullback then, and I couldn't believe it when I looked on the roster and saw he was a freshman! I thought back then he would be a big-time prospect. By the way, that Huntingdon state title team had Terrance Edwards, Boo Weathers, and Chris Donald all in the same backfield, and that was by far the best group of backs I have ever seen in a high school backfield at the same time.

I agree that Golden is the best talent in the state but there is plenty of talent in the class of 2007. All will be successful wherever they go.

  12. You're right... Webb will go to Chattanooga at least once a year and Nashville possibly twice. I thought Nashville Christian, David Lipscomb, Ezell Harding and Goodpasture were in the public school league. They won't be playing DII next year, will they?

No they won't. That was an "off the subject" discussion about all privates put into D2 in fall 2009. It is a theory only; there is no proof that will be done.

  13. Currie must have had 231 yards passing against MUS. This site has good stats on ECS - http://preps.commercialappeal.com/football...s/18/2006-2007/

ECS is probably favored but I say JP2 stops the pass.

We'd better stop the pass. Look for some interesting things to happen in this game. 2 days away (technically 1 since this is my last post for the night) and I cannot WAIT!!!!!!!!

Go Knights! I say we win by 10.*

*That's todays prediction. I feel pretty confident today.

  14. A little more than 2 days away from the game not not much talk from Saint fans... Who are someone of their big players this year?

Sounds like embarrassedsaintsfan has spoken. He said Briarcrest is in the running for one of the worst teams in the state. Sounds like Briarcrest has some issues to resolve.

Looks like the Irish might be 2-0 in the region after Friday's game. Good luck Irish!

  15. I don't know whether to believe that CBHS is down. Would I make that assumption because they were beaten by Ryan or would I consider this a valid argument because they lost to what I assume to be a very good Melrose team 6-0? I know Rutledge isn't the kind of coach to overlook anyone. I think this will be a very good game but MBA wins in the second half 24-19.

  16. If you only win by 7 you are in trouble.

    Briarcrest is terrible,,,,,,,,

    BG

How terrible? I have nothing to compare them to since we have never played them. They beat a team called Treadwell. Does that mean Treadwell is beyond all hope?

    Thanks for the information.

If Ryan shows up like at CBHS then they win by 21. If they show up like Franklin then they still win by 7. Go Irish!

  17. I was told tonight by someone who knows the Blair's that Ryan has a cracked rib and will miss this week, they said they are not sure if he will miss the next week against centenial but if all goes well he should be back for the big one against MBA

Who is the backup to Blair? The Irish seem to depend alot on the run but this year they are passing more in certain situations. The question is QB experience and management of the game. I am sure he is capable but a QBs first start can be daunting!

Irish take this one by 7. Score 24-17.

    Good Luck! Go Irish!
