My mistake on the score, I heard 49-0 on the radio and figured the game was over, had no idea the score was going to be run up that much lol Good game. This will be one heck of a game!

Yes, this was a mess and it caused alot of confusion and inconvenience for alot of people. We all need to remember that our kids and coaches make mistakes week-to-week, zebras make their share a well. In all honesty, this apology was well written, honest and straightforward which is all you can expect when somebody makes a mistake of this magnitude.

 

Being human, we ALL MAKE MISTAKES. Accept the apology as it was intended and go forward. Good luck to teams in the playoffs

Elizabethton 42 - 6.

I see alot of different cyclones getting into the action in this game. Cyclones should win big.

South Greene's been putting up alot of points. But not against this "D". Good luck Greeneville.

I'm an Elizabethton fan but I have to agree that Alcoa should receive all first place votes. The possible may be the best team in the state in all classes.

Two of the better teams in the area, should be a good one!

Happy Valley has to find an offense if they want to win any more games this year. Fleenor is a good quarterback i cant figure what is wrong right now. I agree with coachh17 about the outstanding effort of linebacker Nick Jenkins, he was VERY impressive on the field. Seems to really have a head for the game. I'm not sure what that says about HV when there best effort came from a Senior transfer player who learned all he knows from being in the Elizabethton football program. Come on HV, get with it.

I'm not so sure after seeing last nights game that HV can play in this league. I do agree that it says alot when HV's best player on the field learned how to play being in the Elizabethton program.

Good job Cyclones get back to work this week, Greeneville's coming to town and is probably the best team that you've played yet.

I think East will take the title, North second, and then either Elizabethton or Johnson County. I am always amazed that Elizabethton thinks so highly of themselves. They have not been very good in a long time. They may surprise me but I just dont seem them being higher than third.

 

They had a decent showing at 7 on 7 but of course things can change when there's a possibility of getting hit. If they can play that way in actual games, they should have a decent year.

Elizabethton had a great scrimmage against South tonight. If they play like that all year they could have a great year.

and Tennessee High is still in the playoffs while Elizabethton is sitting at the house.

I have never been to Happy Valley, What is the stadium like? Is the visitor bleachers section as large as Loudon? Looking forward to Friday night

Happy Valley has a great playing surface but the stadium is not very big.

Loudon wins this one. Region 2 is much stronger than 1.

Not all that ridiculous....I was there....as pathetic as the 5 rivers officials have been this year, things happened in this game I have never seen before. While I can't confirm the report about refs feeding info to coaches, Greeneville was flagged 8 times, mostly for procedural violations (and a holding call) while Betsy had 1 little 5yd dead ball foul. Betsy linemen were holding nearly every play and I know of at least 2 blatant facemasks and a horsecollar tackle on Trevon Hall that I cannot understand them missing. There was 1 particularly hinky incident that I described over on the game thread. I'm over it....the Devils prevailed in spite of it. Always good to be in the position where poor officiating isn't deciding the outcome of the game. I hope we have competent officials for our tilt with the Vikes. I was talking about the refs feeding info to the coaches. I was also there, I did see 1 of the facemask calls and some holding. But honestly holding can be called in high school on both teams on almost ever play. I do agree with you on the ball being moved after the measurement that was bad. I am glad also that the game wasn't decided by the officials after a good effort from both sides.

By the way, horsecollaring is not a penalty in high school and college yet. Only in the NFL. I would look for it to be soon though thats the way it usually happens. First banned in the pros, then in college and the down to high school.

It is so good to know that someone else saw/ heard how the officials allowed Betsy to stay in the game. [They were holding and face-masking all night long! The slighteset thing the Devils did, they got a penalty for it.] I know several refs who were sitting close by us that were saying one of those officials was feeding the Betsy coaches info....if I was not there myself to see it I would not have believed it!! I guess they had to put on a show for Jason Witten, who was in attendance. The Devils have made the necessary changes; although, people seem to believe they will not make it without Greenway and OH BOY are they proving them wrong!! Hall & Quarles have made adjustments and are doing a wonderful, no an exceptional job as dual-QB's!! Whatever Coach Mc and the rest of his staff are doing, keep it up because I look forward to seeing another well-played game on Friday night!! Of all the posts that I have read on here this may be the most ridiculous ones I have seen.
