  7. The game was back and forth most of the day - 2 or 3-point game at halftime. Both teams played pretty well - two solid teams. The Travelers led most of the first half, but the Flight had a run late in the half to take the lead with a lot of points coming on offensive rebounds. Both teams are in the Smoky Mountain Shootout April 15-17 at Carson-Newman.

  10. We are mainly looking for 14-u teams and will take up to 6. Anybody interested can call Andy Rines at 577-6170, 591-4868, or 984-8110.
  11. We are will take up to 8 in each age group from 14-16, but the tournament cap for total teams is 24, so we have some flexibility. We don't want an odd number (5 or 7) and that's kind of where we are right now. Entry fee is $225 and each team will play four games.
  12. There are still a few slots open if any teams are interested. We have added a 14-u division this year and will still have competition in 15-u, 16-u, and 17-u. The tournament is close to full, but we can still take a few teams. The tournament will be held April 15-17 at Carson-Newman. Please call Andy Rines at (865) 591-4868 or at (865) 577-6170 if interested. We currently have teams entered from Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.
  13. Cant's speak for Memphis, but in recent years Corey Brewer, Ron Mercer, David Harrison, and Vincent Yarbrough played in the McDonald's game. All were Tennessee Travelers. Also, I believe Derrick Hord, who played at Tennessee High in the late 70's, played in that game. Former Dobyns-Bennett coach Buck van Huss coached in that game once.
  14. Heritage High School is looking for a boy's team (any classification) to participate in the Kessler's Thanksgiving Classic. The participating team will play once on Friday and once on Saturday. Each team will receive t-shirts and a team meal each day. For more information, call Andy Rines or Rick Howard at (865) 984-8110.
