  1. you know what...you're right in a way. i think i didn't make myself clear last time because i am so confused about all this. what i was trying to say is that you seem to souly focused on the name of someone instead of the talent they may or may not have. facts are facts, tolley didn't want the job and mcclain was the next choice. we can't change that and neither one of use are ever going to be able to. so let's leave it at that. like you said, nothings gonna change. i think i'm over all this anyway. say what you guys want, i'm not gonna read this anymore. it's too disappointing because, like i said before, there's no offer of praise for any kind of good work the dawgs may be putting out. oh well. besides, i'm pretty sure, almost 99%, i've figured out who you really are. disappointing. say what you want, i don't care.
  2. You constantly talk about the right last name. I think any voice with any name can stand up and be heard. I'm sure that names don't mean anything.

  4. Good point Luke...there are only a few players that have played key varsity minutes. They are a young team and maybe things will turn around. I still wish we could quit with the bashing. And 2sweeet I'd just like to say that most people on here are hiding behind false names and untraceable identities so it doesn't matter who says what about who. Those people who want to say something get on here and create false names and say whatever they want to so that there is no way to trace them. So I don't think anybody is afraid, per se. That's what I don't understand. There is all this trash talk...about coaches, about Lunceford, and so on, but not on this thread. It's very confusing. You obviously like to share your opinion...what's your real name? Why are you hiding? Is it because you have so much negative things to say? Are you afraid of the "powers that be"? I'd just like to point out that "the powers that be" have nothing to do with how the Bulldogs are playing right now. Bulldogs need to learn how to finish, just like was said, that's all. If they can play with a lead and cut down on the turnovers, they'll do just find. I think they're playing pretty good other than that.
  5. Can you blame them for playing so bad? They get on here and see what you all write about them and I'd say it's a bit of a bummer. I wouldn't want to play for you bunch of hypocritical pessimists either. Winning is good, yes, but when did we lose the fact that sports are supposed to teach teamwork, provide structure, and so forth. What's the saying "It's not if we win or lose but how we play the game." Even when these guys have good game you all bash them. When they have a bad game, you bash them some more. I've not seen one bit of praise for any of the Hampton players. I'd like to say that some of them are trying and that is evident and I give them props for that. It's true that they might not be playing to their potential right now but sometime it will all fall together because this is a good group of ball players. It might just take a while to mesh back in to the whole basketball mentality. So instead of beating them while their down maybe you guys should offer a little bit of encouragement.
  6. Lucas, you are okay, best of luck in college. As to bouncepass, whom I thought was a true bulldog, maybe you need to find a new school to root for or coach. "POLITICS" can sometimes be a tricky thing, who knows, they might one day turn on you. Best of Luck in the future.
  7. Enough of the "he" and "his" talk, why not call "him" Leon Tolley?
  8. That's fair. I will give you the fact that a coach is supposed to be keeping order on the team. I guess I never looked at it from that perspective before. However, I am still interested in what the "same old stuff" is. Could you please elaborate? Everything else aside I think you should give the boys some credit, because it doesn't seem to me that anyone has done that. They were the ones on the court playing their hearts out. I've enjoyed watching them play...even through the down years. I have always loved Bulldog sports. I give much praise to the boys. And like hhspg12 pointed out they were picked last in the conference and finished 5th. That might not be great to some people but it is an improvement.
  9. I'm sorry but I thought the team played more like a team this year than they have in a while. And I see you have no response to the fact that McClain did have to dismiss several players from the team. There aren't many coaches around this area that would have dismissed four or five of their best players...players that would have helped but weren't at all team material due to off the court activities and on the court attitudes...not to mention players that would have started on most other teams in this area. While they may not have won as many games this year as would have been liked they did play hard and atleast gave it their best. And I'm interested to know what you mean by "same old stuff at HHS." I can tell you one thing that was not the "same old stuff," when this team got behind in a game they did not hang their heads, put their tails between their legs, and give up...they fought and actually gave it a chance to win...whereas under previous coaches they gave up.
  10. bouncepass, you said in your last post that Hampton underachieved with what they had this year, besides Lucas Honeycutt, what else did they have that was so great? All I'm saying is that the two years before this one, Hampton lost to those teams they should have beat? Was coaching the reason Hampton beat those teams two years ago? No. Is McClain a great coach, No. Can he become a great coach? Maybe, if he puts in the time and studies what great coaches do.
  11. Mcclain had to spend most of this year disciplining and dismissing players from the team because of what players were allowed to do the previous 2 years. Not only would the Dogs had lost more games, if the same coaching staff were there, Hampton would once again be the laughing stock of the Watauga Conference. Would Hazelwood and Oliver have thrown off Jordan Honeycutt? I doubt it. Hampton won almost as many games this year as they did the previous 2 years, and probably played as tough or maybe evena tougher schedule. No doubt, the Dogs are headed in the right direction. As for the girls team, that may be a different story.
  12. nobody will want to admit it but hampton did play hard this year... they got a lot of bad calls but you can't use that as an excuse... preseason looked good for them but they just seemed to go downhill from there, that's all...i think that's why there was so much talk for hampton...and they did contend, they played a lot of close games...volunteer (loss by a few points @ volunteer), central (4 or 5 points @ both places)...so it's not as if they didn't try to backup that talk as for disappearing fans...who knows?
  13. What's up with this score? Greeneville 42, Hampton 38. Hampton looked like a totally different team than last year. They played hard, no one showed their butt, and the kids acted excited about playing basketball.
