well im sorry you think the highlanders are so amusing.......these girls work very hard and in the end they will still have some wins.....get over yourself

Bill Hall of Scott High School is the best coach around, on and off the court. He is vice-principal and a teacher. He always has a smile for the students, and he encourages the best out of his students and players. More then just a great coach he is an awesome person and let's face it.......it takes both to be a great coach. What good is a coach if his players hate him and don't like him as a person!!!!

Scott County Lady Highlanders will be losing 3 good seniors, and we still have 2 juniors but we have 5 sophmores coming back that are truly talented, Ashley Bee which had been a started until a knee injury and surgery sidelined her this year and Tara Jeffers who became a mid-season starter and is improving each game, Haley Watts who comes in and give some very powerful minutes, she always seems to score when she is on the floor, Megan Lowe who has had alot of playing time as a reserve, and Whitney Strunk who can be a 3 point shooter and a scoring threat. Plus Megan Acres who is a freshman this yr and has come in and became the point guard many times this year and she should be able to handle the team well next year, and we have many other freshman who could step up and make good reserves. And with Kries and Murley, SHS should be a team to reckon with for at least 2 to 3 more years!!!!!!!! thumb

......just wanted to say great game last night to SHS boys...what a game!!!!! thumb that was some of the best team work I have seen, great job to all the players and Wilson just how many of them 3's can u hit in a game

Well I was real happy with the girls last night against kingston. They played hard just came up a few baskets short, everyone was playing hard and that's what I like to see. Coach used his bench well and it payed off, everyone seem fresh and aggresive. Keep up the hard work girls the season is not over and who knows what the tournament may bring!!!!! and to Bee how is the knee doing? Miss seeing you out there, what's wrong with Megan Lowe....noticed she ain't been dressing out? again I apologize for my recent post that offended mindgames023, my intentions wasn't to down the team or coaches. Kries and Murley are doing a great job!!! They are the best we have had in at least 5 yrs or more!!!!! GO SHS thumb

........OK listen i have not given up on the lady highlanders!!!!!!!, i love this team and school and im always there to support them ....winning or losing but i just know that these girls are better than the scores of recent games. Plz girls know that i support you and i'm not down on you at all.......good luck LADIES...GO SHS

I'm so sorry that it came out that way.....I love the new coaches!!!!!!!, I just meant that maybe we expected too much from the coaches but I dont mean that in a bad way, and i'm not down on the girls but i just call them as i see them, a couple of games i just think they need to be more aggresive, i'm sorry if i offended anyone on the team that wasnt my intention.....i love the lady highlanders no matter if they win or lose i just want them to play with all they got.....i support them with all my heart and i didnt mean to sound like i was down on them.......my best to the team always

Well I came into this season with high hopes, as did many other fans for Scott County.....now that half the season is over we are all scratching our heads trying to figure out what happened to the team we thought we were going to see.... and to tell you the truth I really don't know...I think our expectations were too high...I think we were excited about a knew coach and thought he could turn it all around in one season. and nothing against the seniors we have now, but I think the future of this team will be in 2 years when this years freshmen and sophomores are seniors and juniors. That is where the talent is and if they all stick together they should be a good team and be able to be competitive. This year there is no one that is consistent in their shooting....Nelson usually has the high scoreing but she should be scoring more than she does. I think her not being on post has hurt her as a scoring threat. Where are the points from the other seniors and juniors. If you can't hit your not going to win games. But I support our girls no matter what ....good bad or ugly I'm there to support the team.....good luck girls and let's get some wins.... thumb

........ok.....i came into this season with high hopes and by the third game they seem to be going down the drain!!!!!What's happening to girls b-ball at SHS???? you can only blame the coaches for so long , then you have to question the players themselves. The girls seem not to care anymore and I for one am sick of watching.....I love b-ball I really do and I don't care to lose if we lose playing good b-ball but what I have seen in the last few games breaks my heart ....I would love to hear from other SHS people, who have an opion about this or even just a comment........and to any SHS players reading this please, please play with some pride, and get tough in there...everyone plays rough and mean but us and I want to see you girls play with some attitude....."good ole' butt kicking if you want this game, you're going to have to take it from me " attitude ....!!!!!!!!!I love you girls and I love SHS please let's have some heart out there on the court......

I agree with you gymtogym, I was upset too, in the second half the coach didn't use his bench and fatigue set in on his starters and they made several turnovers and lazy mistakes........I hope this isn't the game plan for the year! but laying aside the lost, which I balme more on the coaching.....I think our girls did a good job against Kingston.....it showed me that our girls can hold their own in district play....I just hope the coaching staff uses their bench next time!!!!!! It seems to make a difference in our games when he does........let's wait and see how Friday goes against LC.......

I agree with you WW....well said.....Kingston will give them a taste of some real competition.........might be a few bumps alnog the way but in the end I think they will be very suprising to many people.......

well I think the Lady Highlanders will do pretty good this year......I think we may go father in the district than we have in the last 4 or 5 years.......but it will have to be a team effort from these girls and that includes the bench too........I'm real excited to see what happens in the next few weeks because I think with every game they play they will improve......GO SHS!!!!!! thumb

I think I will wait till after the Kingston game too........we beat Oakdale last nite and it only gets toughter from here on out but I think the girls will do OK this year. and by the tourn. time gets here they should be at their best!!!!!

well........... Kries used his bench more last nite against Oakdale and I feel like the score board showed it's rewards......a 20 point win against Oakdale!!!...The first half was a little slow and sloppy but the second half showed a more aggressive team and there for a minute didn't seem like the SHS girls could miss.... .....But the next game will be more of a contest, I'm sure Kingston will be a more competive team than either two we have played already......but hey we are 2-0 a W is a W and we will take them both thumb ........and Bee 23 please keep me informed about your knee OK thumb ......looking forward to seeing you back on the court!!!! Go SHS!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i have to agree with you about the bench....i was a little dissappointed that he didn't use it more. But maybe he has a plan that we don't know about yet...LOL and Bee we need u because as was said b4...only the right side was used against Coalfield...and i know a Bee can u both sides thumb ......hang in there girl.....and i hope Kries uses the bench more in the future........Go SHS thumb

hey Bee......i hope you come back 100%..............even more. The team will miss you, if you don't........so heal up and get back out there!!!!!!! if the lady highlanders can start hitting better from the floor, (which I think will come in future games)....these Ladies should do better in their district than previous years. I think it will be at least mid-season before we can start to see the full potential of this team under coach Kries. and come February who knows what this team may do!!!!! thumb ......

Hey kazam37,.......well i don't know the full story either....but I think it was more than just one instant, I think that maybe the player had a bad attitude. But I'm not sure...... ...but I do know that Coach Kries is tough and makes sure these girls know who is running the team, and that is a welcome change, that was lacking before.....a strong coach who was willing to back up the rules that had benn given out to the players....he can be harsh i guess, but the girls respect him and know he means what he says...... thumb no worms just not sure about the situation myself......but i have faith in him and we will see what kinda team he has by the end of the season....

well i hope everyone keeps an eye on the scott county lady highlanders this year.........we have a new coach Eddie Kries and he has brought some pride and fire back to the girls program at scott high................it's been many years since lady highlanders have been a factor ...........but keep an eye on this team over the next few years and i think everyone will see a big change!!!!!!! thumb

I want to invite everyone to watch Scott County girls this year........we have a new coach and he has brought some pride back into lady highlander basketball.it's been a while since scott county girls has had a good team. but i think they are the team to watch over the next 2-3 years.................my prediticion this year will be some upset wins by the Lady highlanders!!!!!!!
