  1. Camden has suffered some serious injuries these two weeks. QB Michael Gaskin suffered an ankle injury in the 3rd quarter and didn't return against Martin last night. Will be interesting to see whether he can recover from this injury for the game next Friday. It will be pivotal in the outcome of this game.

Bad news Matt...Gaskin is out and will be having surgery the first of the week. Gonna be a tough row to hoe for the Lions this week without him. Some folks are going to have to really step up 'cause #12's shoes are awfully big ones to fill. Easley did a great job Friday night and I know the coaches will have him prepared. This is the kind of adversity that'll let this team know what they are really made of....Go LIONS!

  2. BIG SHOUT OUT TO CAMDEN! Congrads. on the win. Tough one coming up next week, work hard and prepare......shock the world. Lewis is pulling for you. Hope yout QB is okay. Let us know when you find out how he is and if he will be able to play. Once again........Congrads. 1st class win for a 1st class team and fans. :thumb:

First of all congrats to Westview...gave Camden all they wanted and more. The Chargers will be a force to be reckoned with next season. See you then...

To the Lions....I /We could not be more proud of you. The way the team over came adversity when Gaskin was injured was unbelievable. When you lose your QB/Safety/Punter/Holder/Leading Rusher-TD producer in a playoff game against a very good Martin team, you are down 3 points in the 4th quarter and still march down the field, score a TD and make big stops on D it was absolutely remarkable. Way to play like a team...

Great job #4 Derek Easley stepping up and filling some extremely large shoes, you are the man. #15 Trae White was absolutely beastly tonite....the kid is a baller for sure. Made some great pass breakups that saved sure TDs and knocked the dog-slobber outta some players that'll be seeing him in their nightmares for a while. #19 Kyle Blackburn what can I say, you saved the day...as usual. The good thing is all these guys are just Sophomores so it'll be more of the same next season! Great team effort...let's take it to Milan and take care of business :thumb: Go LIONS!

  3. Wanted to wish Camden good luck. Seen some film on westview, this has the makings of one heck of a game. Camden fans, players and coaches....1st class bunch, stay focused and play it like you did the second half with Lewis and you should be able to get this game. We are pulling for you all. Anyone know if this is available on the internet? Wish I could make it in person.

From the Lewis players and fans......Another step in the season.

Thanks for the words of encouragement Stat! You can listen at wrjbradio.com...just click the "listen live" button. The Lions will have to play an exceptional game tonight to survive, but Coach Ward seems to think they're ready. Hope he's right  Go LIONS!

  4. First off.....there are 5 of us that post under this name, so I'm sure you will get some other post before this board ends. Camden showed why they were 9-1. They were they better team. In the first half Lewis appeared to be able to play with Camden. The second off was a whole different story. The turn over on the first half kick off sort of set the tone for the half. Camden you have a good team and with the class of your players and coaches.....a great team. I talked to one of the stat crew that was at the game and he told me Lewis had a player hurt and they didn't have any medical staff there. Camdens Medical staff stepped right in and help the player out so he was able to return to the game, not quite 100% be at least was able to play.....I want to thank you and your staff. This was his last game and he was able to finish. I was told by member of the stat that you had a special QB, and he was, but you have a complete team. Wanted to wish you guys luck and hope the road takes you a long way. Coaches, players and fans were first class and you deserved the win. As a member of the stat pack, we will be pulling for you the rest of the way....."FIRST CLASS".

Stat...any updates on #22 condition? Looked bad when it happened, I thought for sure he had broken his arm. I'm guessing since he was able to hang in and finish the game (the kid's a warrior) that he must have hyper-extended his elbow. Hope it's minor whatever it is...don't know many players that would have toughed that one out, last game or not. Looks like Lewis Co will be back to the team of old next year...too much talent on this squad to stay down for long. Good luck to you guys next season and maybe we can run into you guys again same time next year.

  5. Congrats to Westview and I sure am glad that you guys won cause I DID NOT want to make that Memphis trip. :roflol:

If I'm not mistaken Westview hasn't lost since the last time these two teams met. You could see when Camden and Westview played last that Westview was beginning to really pull things together. I expect this game to be one of the toughest games of the season for the Lions. Hopefully the Lions can come out with some folks healthy that are a little banged up right now, firing on all cylinders and with the rust shaken off from the week 10 bye. Should be a great game :thumb: Go LIONS!

  6. I remember a heavily favored Camden team getting drilled by LC AT HOME for the region title a few years back.

I guess you mean when Lewis Co. beat Camden 38-21 in 2005. That's a 17 point loss you call "getting drilled"

In 2004, Camden beat Lewis Co. 32-0. That's a 32 point loss. What would you call that?

rcombs has the right of it...it was a drilling especially considering how favored Camden was to win that game. Lewis Co came in and manhandled the Lions that year...here's to hoping that doesn't happen again. Go LIONS!

  7. Do Camden fans have a short memory? This time last year, you guys thought you would be Fairview by 21, well that didn't happen. I don't think Camden fans are in any way shape or form able to think any game in the playoffs will be easy. Lewis Co. and Fairview from last year are very similar. Please just don't get the boys over confident cause that would screw up my bracket. :thumb:

Gerry...this year, just like last year, it's mostly non-Camden fans spouting off about Camden dominating their first round opponents. Real Camden fans have a healthly respect for the Panther program and know they better bring their A game every time the Lions play from here on out. Do I think we win? Yes I do because I believe in this team. Do I need a Fairview fan who has been just as guilty in the past of over looking playoff opponents ( do I really need to bring up 2004?) telling me how loud I should cheer for my team? No, not really.

  8. Anybody overlooking Lewis CO is a fool. Camden is a familiar foe for them. They're not scared...why should they be when they KNOW they have beat them in the past. Let's hope all this overlooking is being done by the fans and not by the Lion players. Games like this can come back and bite you in the butt if you do. Go LIONS!

  9. Creek Wood 42

    Camden 35

I had a feeling this one would be a shoot-out and it certainly didn't disappoint. Neither team really had an answer for the other's offense and it looked like it would be a last-one-holding the-ball-wins kinda game. Camden had a chance to tie with a couple minutes to go but shot themselves in the foot with some costly penalties and Creek Wood made some stops that put the brakes on for Lions.

All I can say about the refs is wow, ummmmm...... wow. :roflolk:

Creek Wood has a very good team and will give someone fits trying to stop them in the playoffs. Hats off to you guys....it was a big game and you earned the win. I have a feeling we'll be doing this same thing every year. Good Luck in the playoffs and represent 11AA well.

Camden shouldn't hang their heads...they hung right in there with a team that was a physical mismatch in every way. Go get 'em in the playoffs and remember your season is far from over. The fun starts in 2 weeks :popcorneater:

  10. Well, the first read on any good option team is the fullback belly play. If you can't stop that, you're in for a long night.

agree hopefully with bell back and talley the belly will be successful...

if thats the way you feel lions4life then just let us know if you arent gonna show up cause i would hate to go all the way to camden and not see this game  its not trash talkin when you give opinions on the outcome of the game...but when you say things like "yard bird" thats a little trash talk :D its not like we are callin yall kitty cats...

Gotcha with yard bird huh? You guys are so easy!

No in all seriousness this will no doubt be the toughest game Camden plays all year ( maybe even including the playoffs). As someone else mentioned it's impressive to go from 1-9 to 7-1 in one year and have a very good shot at a district championship. Shows that Creek Wood must have great coaching and great players who have bought into the program. All the jawing back and forth has been fun this week, but tonight is what it's really all about. Hope we have an injury free, exciting game with safe travel for everyone to and from the game. Let's hope both teams can leave it all on the field. Alright boys... almost time to crown an 11AA champion!

    Go LIONS!

  11. I just saw that out of 124 people 96% picked Camden to win. Looks like that 96% will be a little upset after friday.

Creek Wood's offense is very explosive. With Bell coming back this week they will be even better.

Creek Wood's defense has only allowed two teams, Dickson and Fairview, to gain over 200 yards. They have good quickness and strength and should limit Camden's offense.

Camden's defense is good upfront and really suspect at linebacker and secondary. Creek Wood's offense should have no problem exposing that. Creek Wood should be able to throw whenever they please. Odom and Bell are extremely hard to tackle. If they get past the line they could both go over 100 yards rushing. Hooper is extremely talented. He reads defenses well and can adjust the play to expose the defenses weaknesses. :?

If rain effects the game I feel Creek Wood would have the advantage. They have the ability to line up in a power I formation and over power teams. Giving Bell and Odom a five yard headstart is just unfair to the opposing team :thumb:

Creek Wood wins this one 35-7

Camden's linebackers and secondary have the ability to step up and play big when the game is on the line. I expect them to play really well this friday. it will be really hard for Creek Wood to get big plays. Camden's defense will continuously force them into 3rd down situations. If Creek Wood can pull out a win in this game they will have to play mistake free football. They cannot have costly penalties or turnovers. :?

I think the same things apply for the Lions...they will have to play a mistake-free, hard hitting game to pull this one out. As I said before, these are the games that make HS football second to none. Go LIONS!

Sounds like you guys win then.... :bored:

    Should

Is should like... might? Or is it more like...could? Kinda sounds like.... maybe. Doesn't sound a thing like will though. So I guess we'll show up just for kicks and giggles with our stinky LBs and DBs anyway.

alright good talk...are you speaking in some kind of code or somethin??? :roflol:

im hoping the field will be dry for this game...i know they were callin for rain on thursday...hopefully not too much will make its way to the field.

If there's a problem with the field being wet I have a feeling the "the world largest and strongest fan" will be put into use again. Wish I had Bulldog Fan #1's pic of it.....

Yeah, that's right, you've probably been lurking on this site for quite some time now and chose this thread to rear your ugly head and prove why you should have just kept lurking. Only someone with as much wit and gusto as yourself could have dazzled us all with that tidbit of completely useless and uncalled for stupidity! Only one with as much blinding intellect, such as yourself, could have flamed this thread AND used horrible grammar and spelling ALL IN HIS FIRST POST!

So raise your glasses high and honor another hero...... MR. FIRST POST THREAD FLAME MAN!!!

  18. it has happened before we had to play jcs as a wild card in the first round the very first yr we went to this crap of a system we got now

This is a new TSSAA rule....no two teams from the same district will play in the first round unless one district has 5 playoffs teams in the same quadrant. Since there aren't 5 3A teams in your district, Westview and Milan will never play each other in the first round.

  19. if and i think they will westview gets the wildcard they will play the number 1 seed in our quad no doubt weather its camden or milan at number 1 i think its a really tough 1st round game but this is nothing new its happened i think the last three yrs the wildcard team has been really good

Westview won't play Milan regardless of seed because teams from the same district will not play each other in the first round.
